When Tobias heard Susan's suggestion, he recalled Skylar had little tono accessory to put on her hand.

On the other hand, Susan deemed the questions she had directed atTobias foolish because he was always a generous man.

Once she made her way out of the office, she reached for the pack ofcigarettes in her pocket and started puffing on it. It made her seemedexceptionally alluring in the middle of the night.

When Eva saw Susan, she put out her cigarette and approached Susanwith a bright grin. “Susan, are you spending the night working again? Iguess you're not the best for no reason, huh? Mr. Ford doesn't requiremy help. In fact, he told me to return home because he was afraid Iwould be exhausted.”

Susan looked at the proud Eva with a deadpan look. Eva had alwaysmentioned Tobias placed great emphasis on her in front of others.

Thus, the staff, including the managers from different departments,were conscious of her identity and would have to take her courteously.Smirking, Susan said, “You're so lucky! I'm so envious of you! I hope Mr.Ford isn’t going to forsake his loyal subordinate who has been by hisside for years!"

As a veteran in the corporate world, Susan had long gotten used toplaying pretend in front of others in spite of having a different thoughtin mind.

Nonetheless, she couldn't get used to the presence of the pretentiousEva. Susan was determined to stop Eva from being promoted as long asshe was still around. As Tobias’ most reliable assistant, she was certain itwould be nothing more than a piece of cake.

After one last puff, the sexy woman announced with her chest heldhigh, “Congratulations! Your cousin is having a great time with him aswell! In fact, Mr. Ford seems to be serious about their relationship. Hehas just instructed me to get Ms. Jones a diamond ring that's at leastten-carat.”

Eva snorted and asked, “What does that have to do with me? It's notlike he's going to purchase me one!”

“Are you sure that has nothing to do with you? Don't you think she’sthe reason behind your success? You need to keep in touch with thatcousin of yours if you wish to soar in your career.”

A ten-carat diamond ring? That's going to cost at least ten million! Shecouldn't even afford a new set of clothes back in the day! The only onesshe had belonged to me in the first place!

Sharon stopped giving used belongings to Skylar because shementioned it would bring misfortune to the family. Hence, Skylar had toput on an oversized uniform over the years and patched it up wheneverit was torn.

I can't believe that peasant is doing better in life as compared to me!Does she think she deserves a ten-carat diamond ring just becauseTobias has a thing for her? No way!

She scowled and announced, “My cousin was never a fan of fancyjewelry of that sort. I'm afraid it's going to be another futile effort of Mr.Ford again.”

When Susan heard Eva, she frowned and wondered if the pretentiouswoman had been lying again. Nonetheless, if that was the case, shewould have to bear the consequences since she was the one who hadbrought up the suggestion.

After much considerations, she decided to discuss her next best courseof action with Tobias to determine the perfect gift. Although she wasunconscious of the event associated, she was certain it wasn't awedding anniversary as she deemed the man overly self-centered toget married.
