Before Skylar left the house, Claudia instructed a housekeeper to handher a package of health checkups

Skylar was left in total puzzlement. “Is this necessary? I am in goodhealth.”

She scanned through the checkup list, including items like a premaritalcheckup and recessive gene screening.

Seeing that Tobias was not around, the housekeeper spoke frankly,“This is Mrs. Ford's order. She wants to make sure your body is healthy.”Even though it appeared to be an act of care, Skylar felt humiliatedNeedless to say, after she completed the checkup, she would berequired to hand the result back to Claudia. Who is she to expect thatI'll do everything she says?

Eventually, Skylar handed the package back to the housekeeper.

“Thank you, but I've just completed the annual body checkupconducted by the company. Anyway, please thank Mrs. Ford for me.”The housekeeper advised, “If you don't take it, I'm afraid Mrs. Ford willnot be happy.”

However, Skylar had made up her mind that she would be bow down toanyone for whatever reason.

She replied with a smile. “Please explain to her for me then. I haveanemia, so I cannot conduct checkups too frequently. It can wait till thetime if we've decided to get married. I think she'll understand.”

Tobias, who was waiting in the car, was confused about what was takingSkylar so long. The next moment, he impatiently honked twice

Upon hearing that, Skylar turned and walked out of the house, ignoringthe housekeeper.

"Why didn’t you wait for me in there?” Skylar complained the secondshe got into the car.

Tobias gazed at Skylar innocently. He came out earlier to start the carengine to warm the car. It has been raining the entire night, so theinside of the car was freezing.

"Why? What's there to be afraid of?"

Skylar almost cursed. Your mom suspects that I'm not clean and asksme to go for a checkup.

She swallowed back her anger and had second thoughts aboutdiscussing the matter with Tobias.

If Claudia replaces out that I mention it to Tobias, she will think that I'mpetty and trying to ruin their relationship.

With that in mind, Skylar decided to drop the issue. She took out herphone and key in the location of Kevin's school. “Could you drop me offthere? I can't wait until he gets off school.”

“Do you really think he'll be in school after all this?”

Skylar furrowed her brows. “Where else can he go? I'm sure he won't beat home.”

“Cybercafé or underground casino. Let me ask someone to check it out,and I'll accompany you there. You should not go to such places alone.”Skylar's lips curled into a smile. “Don’t underestimate me. Do you knowwhat my nickname used to be? I've been called the Cyber Princess.”

“Is it something to be proud of? Being addicted to playing computergames with your boyfriend and getting intimate in cybercafés.”

Skylar's face blushed from embarrassment as Tobias’ prediction couldnot be less accurate. Everyone has a past.

However, in Skylar's understanding, Tobias was hardly a man with apast. Surely he would not accompany his girlfriend to a cybercafé,would he? He would see that as a waste of time.

Tobias led his life like an older man, as he did not even know how touse a smartphone properly.

Skylar found it hard to believe that the founder of an online gamecompany did not have any game app on his phone.

As expected, Tobias’ men found Kevin inside one of the cybercafés.Tobias was worried about letting Skylar go alone. Hence, he canceledhis morning meeting and accompanied her there.
