“What kind of trashy movie are you filming? The director is unknown,and the movie had barely gotten any investments. Why did you pick ascript like this? Aren't you afraid that your market value will drop?”Tobias rarely showed concern toward Skylar's work. He only casuallyflipped through the script as it was laying on the desk in the studyroom.

However, Skylar was very serious about her work. She had markedsome lines and made some notes in red, including the emotions sheneeded to portray, as well as the unique characteristics of the role shewas playing

But Skylar's handwriting was a huge contrast to her pretty face. Herhandwriting was all over the place and barely legible. It was hardlybetter than an elementary school student's handwriting.

After hearing Tobias’ disdainful comment, Skylar threw the script intothe drawer and replied, “It was the company who accepted this job forme. Because of a crop-up, I missed the auditions for Pretty

Detective. As such, this is the only option I have left for movies that willbe screened during the festive period. The cast is not that bad. There'sa cameo appearance which should help with increasing the box officerevenue for the film.”

The one making the cameo appearance was Ruben, who was currentlythe most popular comedy actor in the industry. Naturally, he was thefocus of the promotional efforts for the movie so far.

Skylar had a strong feeling that the director would be bashed when themovie was screened as Ruben’s cameo in the movie was merely havinghis face on a poster!

Audiences who watched the movie especially for him would definitelyfeel cheated after seeing his almost nonexistent cameo.

“Well, I only trust my own judgment. It wouldn't even be easy for yourmovie to break even. The script is so lame and terrible. It's just purenonsense.”

Skylar felt very hurt by Tobias’ straightforwardness. She wished that hecould be more tactful and make her feel better about herself. That way,it would be easier for her to feel a little more hopeful about thesituation.

“Where's your manager? Nowadays, I only see you with your assistant.What's going on with Kate? Doesn't she filter the scripts for you?”Tobias asked as he took out a cigarette. Not wanting Skylar to inhalesecond-hand smoke, he only lit the cigarette after opening thewindows.

Upon that, Skylar did not know how to answer Tobias. She couldn'tpossibly say that Kate was busy dating, could she? After all, she was notcertain of that.

As such, she replied, “There's no harm for me to try. Who knows, theremight be a miracle.”

Tobias stubbed out his cigarette after taking a few puffs. He had cometo a conclusion long ago that Skylar did not have the best of luck. Evenif there was really a miracle, it would not happen to her.

He lifted the woman's chin, and his gaze lingered on her smooth neckand rosy lips. In a hoarse voice, he said, “I'll move in with you in thenext few days since I'm worried to leave you here alone. After all, that'swhat you've always wanted, right?”

Skylar remembered that Tobias had said the same thing previously butnever did it. He merely treated her place like a hotel and only visitedwhen he had needs

At that thought, Skylar broke free from the man’s grip and turned herface away before replying, “I'm already used to living alone. Besides,our schedules are different, and I'm worried that I might affect yourrest. I often sleep after 3 a.m., and that would definitely affect you.”Tobias chuckled and said, “I'll give you some time to consider. You don'thave to think about my schedule. I can match yours.”

Skylar rested her head on Tobias’ chest and replied, “Why does it feellike you'll never be able to leave me? You're someone who needs somuch alone time. Besides, I'm sure that you will have issues with a lot ofmy daily habits.”

“No one needs another person to survive. There are just different needsat different stages of life. Just treat it as I cant stand my mom'snagging and have no other place to go.”

Feeling slightly hurt, Skylar's smile faded as if she had just been prickedby a needle.
