Our induction ceremony was supposed to be held in the evening but we arrived at the pack around 9 a.m. I didn't want to face Jake and address the issue with Greg so I went to the daycare. Diana didn't want to leave me there alone so she came with me and I felt Greg assured me it was okay and he needed to use the day to get all his things ready before the ceremony.

bad for pulling her away from her time with Greg.

"Do you have a dress for the ceremony?" Diana asked and I just shrugged.

"I'll just wear one of my old dresses,"

"Are you insane?" she asked, "This is like the most important day of your life. You can't wear an old dress."

"I don't have any money to get a new one," I admitted embarrassingly and she rolled her eyes.

"Of course you do," she said as she handed me a card, "Logan asked me to give this to you; this is the account he's going to be paying your salary into as well as where you get paid for the brownies you've been supplying." "Are you kidding me?" I asked and she shook her head.

"Now you have money; let's go shopping."

"But we can't leave the children alone," I began but I had barely finished my sentence when two female wolves walked in. They looked slightly younger than me but otherwise seemed pretty happy to be here.

"This is Leila and Kayla," she said, "They're going to watch the children while we make busy," I opened my mouth to protest again and she shot me a death glare, "I swear if you say one more thing I will staple your mouth shut."

I kept my mouth shut and she shot me a tight lipped smile, "Let's go."

I never had fun shopping before Diana. Carmen and Liana always made it a horrible experience and my last experience wasn't the most memorable but Diana made it so much fun and enjoyable.

She picked out a beautiful short black dress and when I first saw it I was reminded of the dress I wore during the engagement service and I wanted to say no but then I realized that I actually did want to wear it. I'm not going to let Alpha Hunter and my father control all my life choices. I will banish all the bad memories by making good ones.

I paired the black dress with a pair of strappy sandals and a simple silver plated chain (real silver is dangerous to us) with a wolf pendant. She bought the necklace herself and gave it to me as a 'welcome to the pack' gift and I almost cried.

"Come on," she said as we paid for the last of the things, "We can go over to my place and I can help you get ready there."

"Really?" I asked and she gave me an incredulous look.

"Well of course." She said, "I have to do your make up and your hair. You are going to look like a fairytale princess."

"Thank you," I said and she waved me off.

"Friends don't have to thank each other."

"You consider us as friends?" I asked and she shot me a confused look.

"You're crazy girl," she said with a small laugh, "Of course we're friends."

When she was done I could have sworn I looked the most beautiful I have ever looked in my life. She did my hair into a low bun with a few curls escaping over the front of my face and my makeup was very simple with some pink gloss and nvde shadow. The dress looked absolutely beautiful on me; the top hugged my torso and the bot tom half flowed out and stopped mid-thigh.

"You look beautiful," she whispered and I couldn't help but smile at her, "I'm so excited for you."

"Thank you," I said, "This is all because of you; you're the real artist here."

"You're a beautiful person Charlie; all I did was make you see that." She said softly, "Now I'm going to put on my dress and then we can go."

She pulled out a similar dress to mine, only in the color white and after she had pulled it on she grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs.

"We'll meet everyone else at the ceremony and I'll let you know how it goes during the ride okay?"

By the time we got there the entire pack was seated in the clearing ad I felt my palms begin to sweat and I started getting a bit nervous. What if I'm endangering the entire pack by being here?

"I can see the thoughts forming in your head," Greg whispered from behind me, "Logan knows the risks he's talking by bringing you here."

"What about them?" I asked, "Do they know?"

"Nothing is going to happen," he assured me and even though I didn't believe him I nodded anyways, "Just focus on today and we'll get through this one day at a time."

"It's time for the ceremony." Logan said interrupting us and Greg gave me a small smile before leading me out onto the platform where the ceremony was going to take place.

Logan addressed the pack first and gave a fine speech about how Greg was Diana's mate and how I have been a good addition to the pack so far.

He then walked over to us with a golden chalice and a knife in his hand and he slashed his palm then put it over the goblet so it would drip into it and handed the knife to Greg who did the same without hesitation.

"Do you promise to be loyal and do your best to protect this pack?" Logan asked and Greg nodded.

"I do." They sealed their cut palms together and it was done.

Greg stepped to the side and I moved forward so I was standing just in front of Logan. He handed me the knife and I slid it across my palm ignoring the slight sting and repeated the same words.

When our hand connected I felt a huge rush of sparks that it was a conscious effort to stay standing but almost as soon as he touched me, Logan pulled away.

"It is done," he said then turned to the rest of the pack. "Welcome your new members."

Greg and Diana wanted to retire early so I asked them to take me to Jake's house first. Greg was obviously not pleased but he didn't want to put up a fight and let me do what I want.

"If there's an issue I want you to call me immediately," he said as soon as they dropped me in front of the house and I nodded.

"I will," I promised although I planned on doing no such thing, "Now go enjoy yourselves and stop worrying."

They drove off ad I made my way into the house. I didn't see Jake after the ceremony so I'm assuming he's either gone out or he's at home waiting for me but seeing as all the lights are off I don't think he's home.

I took out my spare key and stepped into the house and into the guest room. The first thing I did was take off my dress and wash off my make-up. I was just coming out of the bathroom and wiping my face down when I noticed a piece of paper on my bed that I can swear wasn't there when I first came in.

I picked it up and as I read each word my eyes widened further and my breath picked up. I poked my head out of the door slightly and saw no one in the hallway. I went back to the letter and read it again but the words didn't change.

"Did you have fun?" a voice asked and I screamed out loud before realizing it was Jake, "Were you expecting anyone?"
