Dragon Breeds of Pyrix, Book 1

Midnight Glider - These are the most common dragons in all of Pyrix. Midnight Gliders are not too powerful but they aren’t fragile either. They are your common dragon.

Midnight Jade - Much like their close relatives, the Midnight Gliders, These dragons are majestic creatures that inhabit the mystical realm of Pyrix. These dragons possess an aura of intense mystery, their name is derived from their striking deep-green scales, which gleam with an iridescent, jade-like shine, especially under the moonlight. Unlike the more common Midnight Gliders, Midnight Jade Dragons are known for their unique blend of grace, power, and even uniqueness among the breed. While they may not be the mightiest dragons in Pyrix, they certainly aren’t weak either.

Stella Alis - Stella is the Latin word for ′Star.′ These dragons are only ever found in the Ta'Chi region and their council unless they are Queen Galaxia's daughter. These dragons are often seen with reflective purple or black scales with specks of white dotted across their form. That’s where they get the name Stella Alis for Star Wings.

Sunburst Aether - Sunburst Aethres are among the most wondrous and enigmatic dragons in Pyrix. These celestial beings, named for their breathtakingly radiant appearance, are known for their deep connection to the cosmos. With scales that shimmer like stardust and wings that gleam like the night sky. Unlike others, Sunburst Aethers choose their ruler via election a lot like the modern day.

Angelusalis - Angelusalis, the celestial dragons, are among the most revered and awe-inspiring creatures in Pyrix. Named for their ethereal and divine qualities, these majestic beings are said to be the guardians of the heavens and the intermediaries between the mortal realm and the divine, they are the gods and goddesses of Pyrix. Not much is known about them, other than the fact that they are believed to be completely white dragons.

Daemonalis - The Daemonalis dragons are a fearsome breed of dragon, the polar opposite of the noble Angelusalis. These dark and malevolent creatures are known for their pitch-black scales, which seem to absorb all light and their black, void-like eyes that radiate an eerie, unsettling aura. Unlike their celestial counterparts, Daemonalis dragons are often associated with the abyss and the realms of darkness. Or even the devils and demons of Pyrix. Their fire is hotter than the heat of a thousand suns and their hallow eyes with an eerie golden pupil, eminate an unsettling aura.

Shadow Flare - These dragons are the most mysterious in all of Pyrix. They have a similar appearance to the Daemonalis with pitch-black scales. Meaning they could camouflage decently at night. Their exact region is only known about them, Their abilities are completely unknown. These dragons are mysterious, secretive and unknown. Queen Shizen is a Shadow Flare herself and yet she can’t say anything about them.

Spiritusalis - Spiritusalis means Spirit Wings In Latin. These dragons are often described as being the third “Undead” breed, including the Daemonalis and Angelusalis. Spirtusalis dragons are known for their ghostly appearance as all their eyes glow. No matter the eye colour, in the Spiritusalis breed they’d always be glowing. Their scales are a ghostly greyish white and their wings often look tattered up with tears and scars, yet they can still fly completely fine. These dragons can also phase through inanimate objects like trees and stones.

Aqualis - The Auqualis dragons are majestic. Their scales shimmer with the iridescent hues of the sea, ranging from deep blues to vibrant aquamarine and sometimes light shades of purple. These dragons are perfectly adapted to their watery environment, with webbed claws and fins that allow them to move gracefully through both the ocean depths and the skies above. On rare occasions, an Aqualis dragon will have gradient scales. The most common gradient is a dark purple and a deep sea blue ocean, gradient. The rarest would be a light blue and lime gradient, only three Aqualis dragons are known to have this specific gradient.

Ignius Noctern - Ignius Nocterns can adapt to any climate. Whether it’s arctic freezing or the earth’s equator and tropical heat, they can easily adapt to it. Ignius Noctern’s scales often shimmer with purple and black hues, the colours of midnight and distant galaxies. Despite the name and appearance, these dragons have big hearts and aren’t afraid of helping anything or even anyone.

Irisalis - Irisalis is the Latin word for Rainbow Wings and as the name suggests, these dragons have the most unique appearance in all of Pyrix. Not only that, Irisalis Dragons are the rarest breed in Pyrix too. Their scales will be seen as having almost all the colours of the rainbow but still missing one or two. But rarely, they can have every single colour of the rainbow patterned on their scales and wings.

Thundersea - Thundersea Dragons are mystical and awe-inspiring dragons, deeply intertwined with the power of the ocean. These majestic creatures are as much a part of the sea as they are of the sky. Their scales, shimmering shades of deep blue and silver, resemble the glistening surface of the sea itself, and they have powerful, webbed wings that allow them to navigate through both air and water with grace. Their close relatives, the Aqualis dragons spend all their time in the sea. Thunderseas possess the powers of sea and thunder.

Sunset Alis - These dragons are much like the Irisalis dragons. They have a unique appearance and almost all of them have a gradient colour on their scales that looks like a sunset. Therefore given the name Sunset Alis.

Ignisarbor - These dragons can manipulate time itself. They can change the time of day, the weather and even change the season or month. Ignisarbors are so powerful they are completely forbidden to use their powers anywhere. King Clockwork doesn’t even use his powers and he’s at war.

Regions

Stageweight Hills - Stageweight Hills has been split into Southern Stageweight Hills and Northern Stageweight Hills for sixteen years now. It used to be the only region where dragons of different breeds interacted but one day Queen Shizen’s daughter, Xiotern turned on her mother. A war broke out between the two for nearly two years before what was known as the Shadow Flare & Ignius Noctern council split into two separate councils and Stageweight Hills split into Northern and Southern. Ignius Nocterns inhabit the North while Shadow Flares inhabit the south. Since then, Xiotern had a daughter herself. a 16-year-old Ember by the name of Asteria, Shizen too has had a new heir since then. A 17-year-old Ember by the name of Cassius was only a year old when his sister attempted to overthrow the council.

Centennial Plains - Centennial Plains is a region just across the ocean and just across from Southern Stageweight Hills. Their king is King Clockwork who is frankly sick in the head by starting a war on a region only recently abolished by war. Clockwork has a daughter who will end up being the queen of the Ignisarbors after the war is over, even if Clockwork isn’t dead, this region is populated by the Ignisarbors

Aisle of Destiny & Aisle of Recce - There is a much smaller war going on between these two smaller regions, both these regions are also populated by two of the rarest dragons in all of Pyrix. Destiny is home to Irisalises, and Recce is home to Sunburst Aethers. Destiny has queen Xanthe, Recce has king Felix. These two regions aren’t talked about much but they are described as the miniature Stageweight Hills and miniature Centennial Plains

Seazide & Oceanview - These are the two coastal regions of Pyrix and are the homes the the two sea breeds of Pyrix. Aqualis and Thunderseas. Despite the regions being close together, their councils are on complete opposites of the world. Thurdersea council comprises small islands and the Aqualis council is nestled on the far east coastline. The queen of the Aqualis dragons is Queen Cordelia and the king of the Thunderseas is King Aqua.

The Falls District - The Falls District used to be one whole region many, many years ago before it split into four smaller regions. Western Falls, Marina Woods, Alcove Forest and Eastern Falls. These first two have a bond between them that cannot be broken and sem goes for the second two. The breeds in each region go from right to left in a strange order. Angelusalis, Sunset Alis, Daemonalis, Midnight Jade. The Angelusalis and Sunset Alis are at war with the Daemonalis and Midnight Jades. It’s described as the between day and night. Once again, their leaders aren’t known and no one even knows what this war is about.

Ta’Chi - Ta’Chi is the smallest official region in Pyrix. Home to the most peaceful dragons in Pyrix. The Stella Alis. These dragons have never fought in a war and they have never done any executions. Their dragons only die of natural causes, sickness and even war. Despite them being incredibly peaceful, some dragons want them dead. The Ignisarbors, Midnight Jades and Daemonalis. But despite this conflict, the council and Ta’Chi refuse to fight back. All the other dragon breeds in Pyrix have become allies to the Stella Alis, they are their fighters. That’s the second big thing that began the Highlands War.

Tageo - Tageo is the most mysterious region in all of Pyrix. It’s always dark, moody and cloudy. It hasn’t seen light in years, the same can’t be said for the Council. The council only ever sees light, no darkness and no clouds. A legend says that the mysterious environments of Tageo and the Spiritualis council are caused by a rouge Ignisarbor and their powers. It’s completely unknown and their queen is one by the name of Spirit. Spirit is the only leader with no heirs. So it isn’t known who will be taking the throne next.

Ending of War - This is the prophecy which states how the war is believed to end. It was first brought up when it was found carved into the rocks of an abandoned Sunburst Aether cave. This didn’t make sense because the original prophecy was written nearly fifty years before the actual war began. It reads:

"Hark!" The words of the ancients foretold long ago

A single being, destined to show

Bringing peace to the land, ending strife and woe

A saviour, pure and true, with power to bestow

From distant realms, the creature shall come

With purpose clear, and heart afire

To save a council, corrupt and astray

And bring an end to the bitter fray

They shall journey to all tides

Returning with five dragon guides, awaiting the quest

Each one chosen, their virtues manifest

A Sunburst Aether, Via diplomatic endeavour shining bright and bold

A Shadow Flare, Shizen's heir, fierce and untold

An Ignius Noctern, daughter of Xiotern, wise and fair of face,

An Ignisarbor, daughter of a king at war, strong and impossible to replace

An Irisalis, energetic and outgoing, ex-heir of the young queen's palace, wings a rainbow blaze, seen by her mother as a disgrace

An innocent Stella Alis, heir to their queen's palace, pure of heart and grace

Together they shall conquer, leaving none behind

This shall unfold, as the stars decree

For the creature's path is predestined, so we see

Their dreams are pure, their spirit unbroken

Their fate, to save the world, unspoken

So let it be known, far and wide

The time draws near when the creature shall arrive

To bring peace to the land, and end the fight

In the name of justice, all shall unite
