Inner Woman Volume 2
28 Colored Winds

I see the wind

in golden swirls

Glorious crimson

maple leaf red

Golden aspen

birch and larch

strewn leaves

and needles

Icy tendrils from

the north, turn

crunching heaps

to crumbled brown

And Indian summer

deep blue sky

with barren branches

and false spring promise

Mother Nature plays

her pranks until

All Hallows Eve

ushers the first light snow

Every shade of brown

from tan, to beige

and umber chocolate

slumbers under

her coat of white

as night grows longer

and gives root and seed

rest indeed,

and the wind

glistens, sparkling white

whispering of green

far from sight

in frozen watery sheen
