Elizabeth Zemerlow moves from Sweden to Shadowrose, a small village in Canada where her aunt and uncle live. On the outside, the village looks normal, but soon enough, she replaces out that it's nothing normal in there. Instead, there are creatures far more older and deadlier living in there.
