Intuition
Chapter Two

Eve slipped out of her pajamas and took his hand. Flint pulled her under the streams of water. His hands sent familiar electric pulses through her veins as he placed them on her hips.

He pressed her against him and Eve allowed his woodsy scent to surround her. It cleared her mind, like always. She traced his damp jaw with her fingertips, bringing his lips closer to hers. Flint leaned forward and kissed her. His wet fingers wove into her long hair, tugging her head back.

His lips dipped down to caress her neck. The scar he had placed on her shoulder would be sensitive to his touch forever. He smiled as he ran his teeth over the mark, feeling her tremble in his hands. Eve could feel his excitement as his hard length dug into her stomach.

She looked into his hypnotic, emerald eyes as her palms slid across his chest and down over his abdomen. Every touch between them felt like lightning coursing through them. Flint groaned when she gripped him, massaging her hand slowly up and down.

"Eve..." His hoarse voice said her name like a warning.

She bit her lip and peered up at him for a glimpse of the furious passion Flint held for her. When their eyes met, a frustrated grunt left her mate's throat. He immediately claimed her lips again. His hands moved down her hips to cup her rear.

The breathy noise Eve produced seemed to ignite his blood. Flint lifted her as if she were as light as a feather. Her legs wrapped around his hips as if they had been made to do so. He slowly pressed her pelvis downward. He teased her entrance for just a moment before filling her completely.

Eve's moans were muffled by her mate's shoulder. The wolf inside her was tempting her to bite him. Still, a moment later, Flint silenced her every thought. He stepped forward and pressed her back to the cold, shower wall.

The feeling of his weight on her was more than pleasant. Yet when he began grinding his pelvis against her, a high pitched cry resonated from her chest. Flint was teasing her again but feeling the heat of her pulse around him nearly brought him to the edge. His jaw tightened as he groaned through his teeth.

Eve couldn't stand it anymore. She needed him to move, to give her more. The yearning noise she made sent goosebumps across his skin. He thrust into her harder, but with an agonizing slowness.

"You're pleading..." Flint's breath brushed across her ear.

"Yes!" She arched her back in an attempt to hurry the pace.

Flint growled lowly, holding her waist firmly in his large hands. He reasserted his dominance without trying. He allowed her to move according to his rhythm but apparently; he was replaceing it more and more difficult to make such slow movements.

"Flint..." She moaned. "Please!"

He groaned and his hips began moving, harder and faster. Eve tightened her legs around him as if to draw him closer. She felt like she would never be able to get enough of his electric heat. Soon, Flint was thrusting into her with such force that Eve couldn't help but scream for him.

Pleasure erupted in her every cell. The exhilarating sensation that surged through her slammed into her mate. As Flint felt Eve's hot flesh convulsing around his erection, his self control broke away. He released the pressure that had been building inside him since he felt her lightning blue gaze on his skin that morning.

A few moments later, Eve's feet gently met the ground again. She rested her head against him while she tried to catch her breath. Flint held her close and inhaled her scent. The memory of their first night together came back to him as he breathed in her sweet but tart smell.

Flint had never been unsure of her. Since the moment he met Eve; he felt an unwavering, undeniable need to be near her. When he told her he had to wait for his pack's approval before marking her, he could feel how uncertain Eve was about their being mated.

Yet when they laid down to sleep and he pulled her close that night, he buried his face in her hair. She smelled like fresh raspberries and sweet flowers. Hers was a scent that now floated through his home and wafted from his own skin every morning. To Flint, Eve smelled like home.

A small smile graced his lips as he brushed the honey colored strands away from her face. Eve looked into his electrified, emerald eyes and saw her own devotion reflected back at her. Flint turned them around to soak her long hair in the water. He put shampoo in his palms and massaged her scalp. She felt every muscle in her body relax under his languid touch.

"Oh...." She exhaled. "We should always shower together."

"Consider it done." Flint smirked.

He rinsed her strands before she turned to face him, placing a loving kiss on his chest.

"Now, tell me what you were thinking about before I distracted you." He lathered his skin.

"I found something. Nothing huge. All of the friends Bastian named are still evading us." She replied.

"Okay. What did you replace?" Flint probed, washing off.

"I had Blair look through the records of both public schools in the valley. I think I found Briar's parents." Eve explained.

"The half-breed from the woods..." He breathed thoughtfully.

She nodded and lightly scratched Flint's back. He closed his eyes for a moment to absorb the sensation.

"At least it's a starting place. I want to put that wolf in the ground before the pup comes." He sighed.

"I know." She could feel the weight of Bastian's freedom weighing on her mate's shoulders.

"When are we going?" Flint turned off the water and opened the shower door.

"We?" Eve accepted the towel he extended to her.

"Hell yes, we. You think I'm going to let you run around in the valley with those oblivious humans, when we don't know where my enemies are?" He spoke in a definitive tone.

"Our enemies, Flint." She climbed out of the shower and began drying her hair.

"I know, baby." Flint kissed her on the forehead before covering his jaw and neck in shaving cream.

Eve wrapped the towel around herself and went into the bedroom. She had discarded her research on the bed.

"So?" He asked from the bathroom.

"So... What?" She probed.

"So, when are we going?" Flint's small smile could be heard in his voice.

"I figured we could go tomorrow. Today we have the elder meeting and an appointment with Doctor Mills." Eve answered.

"Okay. I'll clear my schedule." He stated before he began brushing his teeth.

Eve opened the closet and began to look over the dresses hanging there. Pregnant and bloated or not, being the Luna of the Starlight pack meant she always had to appear a certain way. Something Eve both appreciated and hated about her position. She pulled on a black sweater dress and grabbed a pair of deep blue leggings.

The couple brushed past one another in the doorway. Eve went into the bathroom to brush her teeth and comb her hair. She left her long locks hanging freely around her shoulders as she applied her makeup. When she emerged, Flint was tying his shoes. He wore an impeccable black suit with a white dress shirt.

Eve couldn't help but observe him. To see such a powerful, impressive man doing something as mundane as this... It never ceased to fascinate her. Flint caught her gaze and smiled at her. Eve tugged on a pair of flat boots before following her mate down the stairs.

He looked over the paperwork his mate handed him. They sat on the couch in the living room and, after a few minutes of reading, the Alpha put the folder down and finished his coffee.

"It'll take more than two hours to reach Summerville. I'll see what Drake knows about these rogues before we head out." Flint finally stated.

"Most of the rogues he's close with joined his pack and migrated. What makes you think he knows them?" Eve asked curiously.

"Rogues look out for one another in the valley. That's partly why they were so hard to locate. My guess is; they all know each other, or know of each other." He shrugged.

"We can hope." She sighed.

"Everything will be okay, Eve." Flint cupped the back of her neck protectively. "I'll make sure of it."

"We both will." Eve relaxed under his soothing, electric touch.
