Invisible Mate ( Mate Series Book 1)
Hungry for Information

“What’s the update?” asked a deep voice that seemed to get more evil and deadly as the Blood Moon day approached.

" The potion we made has helped a lot. Both of them are unconscious and locked in their cells, Mam,” Archer replied.

" Of course, I had to suggest the potion to keep them sedated, else could you pus**es have managed to control those two?” Samara mocked.

Archer gritted his teeth at the blatant insult. At this rate, his teeth would soon fall off by the number of times he had had to clench them.

All these years, he had to bear with Chris’s attitude just to get on his good side, and now this evil witch. Though she is still trapped inside a small stone, her attitude is to the roof.

They all think Archer is useless. Even his father thought so. His brother was always the good and eligible Alpha, while Archer was the weak, worthless one. He wanted to show the world that he was not weak.

Archer has put in a lot of effort to get to this point. Firstly, he killed his brother and blamed it on the rogues so that he could become the Alpha of his pack.

After he became the Alpha, he was still not satisfied. He always wanted to be the strongest werewolf amongst the supernaturals, and there were two ways he could achieve it. One way was to be so powerful that he could defeat those above him, or the second way was to simply eliminate them.

When his old friend contacted him for his help to rescue the dark witch, Archer had a golden opportunity to get rid of his biggest competition, namely Chris and Liam. He promised him they could be powerful and rule the world with the witch’s support.

Their plan was set. Getting hold of Chris was a piece of cake. Though he was very powerful, he was a dimwit for an Alpha. Chris often thought with his fists rather than his brains and his trust issues, especially with his mate, would be his downfall. Manipulating him was so damn easy.

Archer stifled his laugh when he recalled how he fooled his so-called friend. When Archer called him pretending he knew about Liam, Chris was there without a second thought. While Chris was busy talking to Archer, his men had injected him with the sedative rendering him unconscious.

Getting hold of Liam was tough. He was the more reasonable one, so he had to involve his maternal Uncle Alpha Smith to sedate his food and get hold of him. Alpha Smith was a selfish bastard, and it worked well to their advantage.

Now both were unconscious, locked in the dungeon, helpless and waiting for their deaths. No wonder all that strength and power were of no use in front of foolishness and betrayals.

Just one week more. On the Blood Moon day, Samara would arise, and the first thing she would do was get rid of those who could trap her back in the stone.

Samara believes Adele having two mates is a trick of the Moon Goddess to trap her back in the stone for eternity. They tried to kill her on the witch’s orders, but damn she was strong, and manipulating her was just impossible.

How Archer wished Adele would have been his mate, both could rule the werewolf community together, but well, you cannot get everything in life.

Even now, if Adele agreed to be with him, he would willingly accept her. Once Samara gets rid of Chris, Liam, and Adele, Archer would kill Axel, and then he would be the Werewolf King.

Archer’s train of thoughts is interrupted by his old friend, who greeted Samara.

“Any information from the Pack?” Samara questioned.

" Black’s mate has more potential than I thought. She single-handedly managed to get her Pack’s trust, and even her brother’s Pack is assisting her.”

Samara made a grunt of disapproval. “Didn’t I ask you to get rid of her?”

Archer’s old friend flinched at Samara’s tone. ” W-We had sent a few rogues to kill her.”

“And?”

" T-They were killed.”

“I should have guessed. Don’t depend on these good-for-nothing rogues. Kill her yourself.”

" Y-Yes, Mam!”

" Anything else you have to say?” Samara asked, sensing his uneasiness.

" M-Mam, Sybil informed Black’s mate that she can trap you in the moonstone with the help of her two mates.”

Samara cursed something in the ancient language that they didn’t understand. " She is a disgrace to our witch community. I should have gotten rid of her when I had the chance.”

" Once you are free, you can easily get rid of everyone.”

" I know what to do!! You don’t have to teach me,” Samara sneered. " But this time, I don’t want to take any risks. Kill that girl immediately.”

" Yes, Mam! I will do my best.”

" What are you still doing here? Get lost,” Samara shreiked.

" I-I won’t disappoint you, Mam,” he said and hurried out of the room.

" I don’t trust him,” Samara spat. " This brother of hers, is he any good?”

Archer was reluctant to reply, but he had to tell the truth as no one could ever lie to Samara. Her power was extraordinary, wherein she directly dives into the brain of others, even when she was physically trapped inside the moonstone. She could hypnotize anyone with her power and also had the ability to instill such severe pain, which felt like all the bones in the body were being crushed. Archer shuddered when he remembered the last time he had to experience that pain. Goddess knows what she would be capable of when she was free.

He stared at the stone with fear and replied, ” Her brother’s pack is the second most strongest pack after Blackwood pack.”

“So now we must handle not only one but two packs? What if they replace us?” Samara screamed.

" They can’t replace us, Mam. We are watching their every move so we would be aware of their plans beforehand.”

Meanwhile, Axel was getting ready to head towards the Blackwood pack. Before leaving, he spoke to his Dad. ” I have to go and help Ade, but...”

" Don’t worry, son. I will take care of things here. I am not so old that I can’t look after a Pack.”

" Thanks, Dad,” Axel said, relieved. ” Now I can concentrate on helping Ade and leave this Pack in your capable hands. See you later.”

While he was headed to his car, he was stopped by Sera. ” I will come with you. I need to talk to Ade.”

Axel nodded, and they left to go to Blackwood Pack.

At the Blackwood Pack, the preparations for the upcoming war were on. Adele was analyzing their Plan of action with Trevor and Dalton.

As soon as Sera met Adele, she blurted out, “I want to talk to you. It’s important.” Sera had a nightmare the previous night of the time she was kidnapped, but luckily she remembered an important point which she had missed.

" What is it?” Adele asked.

“The day I overheard Archer, they were discussing the Blood Moon day. I think I heard something about the Demon’s forest.”

" Demon’s forest? What’s that?” Axel asked.

" I have read about it somewhere, but I don’t remember where.” Adele thought hard and then asked Trevor, ” Do you have ancient books in the Library here?”

" Yes. We have every book related to supernaturals,” Trevor says proudly.

“Let’s check,” Adele said and dashed in the direction of the Library while everybody else followed her.

They all started checking in the werewolf books, and after a few minutes, Adele found the required information in a Book called ′ Scariest places on earth.′ ” It’s here,” she said, and the others left the books they were checking and joined Adele.

Adele read the contents out loud for the others to hear. ” DEMON’s FOREST- Most of them believe it to be a myth as there are no proven pieces of evidence about its actual location. Many of them claim to have experienced demonic activity in the forest. It is rumored that witches and wizards have performed dark rituals in the forest for thousands of years, and it is a habitat for multiple dark creatures and wild animals. The negative energy is particularly strong in the area as it is said to have an entrance to hell.”

" That’s it. I am sure Samara would perform the final ritual here,” Sera blurts out.

" But how do we replace this location?” Trevor questions.

Adele rechecks the book and says, ” They have mentioned a few possible locations here.” She shows it to the others, and Axel says, ” We have to check all these places.”

" Dalton and Trevor, get the teams ready and ask them to leave immediately to all these locations. We don’t have much time.”

" Yes, Luna,” both Dalton and Trevor reply.

Suddenly few of the warriors enter the Library looking for Dalton.

" What is it?” Dalton asked.

" I think we know where they have kept the Alpha.”

Everyone is suddenly alert. “Are you sure?” Adele asked.

“We found the Alpha’s mobile a few miles away from here and sniffed his scent to a location. We have spotted a few rogues there. I think Alpha might be there.”

" Then we must leave immediately,” Axel suggests.

" Are the warriors ready for a fight?”

" We are always ready,” Dalton smirks.
