It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 108

Lucia, who was still a little haggard, widened her eyes in surprise when she suddenly noticed a man sitting in the living room. It took her a moment to recognize him as the man who had brought her here. She didn’t even know his name, let alone his relationship with Lowell. “Why did he appear today?” » she wondered.

However, she didn’t let her shock and curiosity show on her face. Instead, she just pretended he wasn’t there. After getting ready as usual, she had breakfast quietly, then returned to the living room. Lucia had no idea that the man was also surprised by her. He couldn’t help but admire her calmness. Most people would panic if they found a stranger sitting in their living room. It was the first time he saw someone look so calm.

“My name is Tandy,” he finally said.

“I’m Lucia, but I guess you already know that,” Lucia replied simply, crossing her arms over her chest.

“Lowell sent me to pick you up for dinner.” Tandy came to the point.

Hearing this, Lucia raised her eyebrows. Before she could answer, her phone rang. As she expected, the call came from Lowell. She responded with a smile.

“Did Tandy tell you?” I’m taking you to dinner,” Lowell said as soon as the line was connected.

“Why didn’t you come alone?” Lucia asked curiously.

She was used to him showing up in person to pick her up. Now that he had sent someone else, she was filled with a feeling of unease, or maybe just disappointment. But what Lowell said next made her laugh and her heart felt lighter again.

“You want me to come get you myself? If you don’t mind making headlines again, then neither do I,” Lowell teased. For some reason, hearing this filled

Lucia with warmth. Lowell was always considerate enough to think of everything. In fact, after hearing his explanation, Lucia felt a little stupid for asking him that question. It was obvious that if he had the choice, he would not have sent someone ‘another looking for her. ‘Even if he has his own motive, he won’t give up so easily before he achieves his goal,’ Lucia thought with amusement.

But for some reason the thought brought Malcolm’s face into his mind and his eyes darkened. His good mood vanished. After hanging up the phone, she walked briskly towards Tandy.

“Well, I’m ready. Let’s go,” she said softly.

Tandy just stood up silently and walked out first. Tucking her hair behind her ear, Lucia followed him. Even as they walked to the car and got in, they didn’t exchange a single word. Sitting in the driver’s seat, Tandy glanced at Lucia from time to time. After a while, he finally broke the silence.

“Lowell means a lot to me. I would give my life for him,” he said matter-of-factly.

Lucia’s head whipped around to face him in surprise. Even though Tandy had a poker face, Lucia felt that her sudden statement was a bit heated, and perhaps even provocative. Curiosity invaded him.

“What do you know about me and Lowell?” she asked after looking at him in silence for a moment.

“I don’t need to know anything. I will respect whatever decision Lowell makes,” Tandy replied, her eyes firmly fixed on the road. It was obvious to Lucia that he was not at all interested in getting to know her.

A strange feeling rose in her heart, something she couldn’t quite grasp. “Am I just imagining things? Why do I get a strange vibration from his words? It’s not strange for him to admire Lowell, but he seems to have a strong attachment to him. This analysis only left her more perplexed. After all, the only logical conclusion was that Tandy had feelings for Lowell. “But how could this be possible? Or am I thinking too much?

Lucia’s relentless gaze made Tandy shift uncomfortably in her seat. He looked at her with a frown, as if he was afraid that she had discovered his secret.

Lucia looked away abruptly, trying to push away the ridiculous thoughts in her mind. All she knew was that Lowell couldn’t be gay. But as for the man in the driver’s seat, she wasn’t sure. “Maybe I’m thinking too much these days. » Sighing, she turned towards the window and looked out at the landscape.

Soon the car arrived at the restaurant. Unlike the places Lowell usually chose for them to meet, this restaurant had an open environment, without any private rooms. Lucia doesn’t think too much. She couldn’t deny that Lowell knew a lot more about food than she did.

When she got out of the car, she saw Lowell waiting at the entrance. With a smile, he held out his hand. After hesitating for a moment, Lucia gently placed her hand on his palm. Naturally intertwining his fingers with hers, Lowell led her into the dining room. Tandy was upset when he saw this, but he looked down and quickly followed them.

The three of them took their seats. After exchanging a look with Tandy, Lowell looked out the window thoughtfully and chuckled. Then he returned his attention to the table.

It turned out that he had already ordered the dishes for the three of them, because shortly after sitting down, the waiters started serving the dishes one after another. Lucia glanced at the dishes laid out on the table and found that they were the typical dishes served for dinner. Raising her eyebrows slightly, she picked up the pair of chopsticks and began to taste the dishes one by one.

The world was a truly unfair place. As long as one was rich, they could eat the most delicious food made with the finest ingredients. The poor, on the other hand, had to struggle to even buy decent clothing, let alone food. And then there was another group of people like Lucia, who were neither rich nor poor, painfully stuck in between.

Deep down, Lucia resented the world, but she knew she should consider herself lucky to have the opportunity to be where she was today. Thinking of this, she continued to eat contentedly. Watching Lucia’s uncivilized way of digging into her food, Tandy frowned and turned to Lowell in confusion. But Lowell just smiled softly and passed Lucia a napkin on the table. Without even looking at it, Lucia took it and wiped her greasy mouth before continuing to eat.

“Why are you looking at me? Aren’t you going to eat?” Lucia asked Tandy curiously, biting into a piece of ribs.

Tandy said nothing, but her gaze continued to wander between her and Lowell. Every time he laid eyes on Lowell, there seemed to be a trace of nostalgia on his face. The more Lucia looked at him, the more she became certain that he had a feeling of attachment to Lowell.

“A strong man who shows attachment to another man? »

This thought made him spit out a mouthful of water. With an apologetic smile, she grabbed another towel and quickly wiped up the mess she had made. The dissatisfaction in Tandy’s eyes deepened. “If I’m right, Tandy likes Lowell. Maybe he’s gay or bisexual. While cleaning, Lucia continued to think about it. Once she was done, she raised her head to look at Lowell. When their eyes met, she frowned and returned her attention to the food in front of her. The emotion she had noticed in Tandy’s eyes was not reflected in Lowell’s.

‘Is this unrequited love? Is this why Tandy seems to be curious about me even though he doesn’t like me? And Lowell? Does he know what Tandy thinks of him? Lucia sighed inwardly, trying to push these messy thoughts out of her head. She didn’t like to participate in gossip.

“What’s the arrangement later? Do you want me to take you back?” Lowell asked, putting down his cutlery and dabbing his lips with a napkin.

“No thanks. I want to go shopping. It’s a bit boring to stay at home all the time,” Lucia replied.

“Then let me accompany you,” Lowell said without skipping a beat.

Lucia smiled, silently accepting his words. At the same time, she couldn’t help but glance at Tandy. Sure enough, there was a trace of jealousy in his eyes, but it quickly disappeared. Once the three left the restaurant, Lowell hinted to Tandy to stop following them. Without saying anything, Tandy took one last meaningful look at Lucia, then walked away, disappearing from sight.

Lucia walked aimlessly down the nearby pedestrian street, with Lowell beside her. The street was full of cozy little shops. Whenever Lucia found a store that caught her eye, she would go in and take a look, but soon she would walk out without buying anything.

Lowell just followed her quietly the whole time. If there were too many people in the store, he would wait outside, but if it wasn’t, he would accompany them inside. As they walked down the street, Lowell often shielded Lucia with his hands to keep her from bumping into passersby.

“Excuse me, sir and miss, can I take a photo of you?” »

Suddenly, a man approached Lucia and Lowell, blocking their path. He briefly explained to them that he was photographing random people on the street for a website he worked for, and that he felt like they looked so good together that the moment had to be captured. He also promised to email them the photo. Lucia looked to Lowell for his advice. He shrugged, indicating that he didn’t mind if she wanted to do it.

Smiling brightly, Lucia pulled Lowell closer and naturally posed for photos. The photographer clicked several photos, wrote down Lucia’s email address, thanked them and left their sight.

“Lucia, I wish you could smile like that every day. Sadness doesn’t suit you well,” Lowell said, looking at her affectionately.

“How can this happen?” My face will hurt if I smile all the time.

Lowell smiled and shook his head, then quickened his pace to catch up with her. Not far away stood Tandy, watching the whole scene. There was a complex look in his eyes as he stared at their backs.

When he heard an unusual click, he glanced around and his eyes fell on a seemingly ordinary passerby nearby. This person was holding a camera with a long focal length lens, which kept blinking. Realizing what was happening, Tandy picked up her cell phone and made a phone call, but said nothing. After hanging up the phone, he turned around and quickly left the street.

“The elaborate plan is about to be completed. How can I allow something to go wrong right now? Will you be satisfied with this surprise? he wondered.
