It's Love That Blinds Him
It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 158

The car stopped in front of a hotel. A doorman came to open the car door quickly. He was still calm when he saw Lucia unconscious. Byron gave the doorman a cold look, picked up Lucia, bent down and got out of the car. As soon as he entered, he saw Malcolm’s figure in the hotel lobby. Malcolm only glanced at Byron before picking up Lucia and heading towards the elevator with Lucia in his arms.

Holding Lucia in his arms, he frowned slightly. Lucia seemed quite light, snuggled in his arms. He entered the VIP elevator and went straight to the presidential suite on the top floor. The hotel housekeeper who accompanied him quickly opened the door, allowing Malcolm to enter. After entering, the housekeeper closed the door considerately and dutifully waited for his orders outside.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Evans doesn’t allow anyone to bother him,” the housekeeper said in a tone that was neither humble nor arrogant.

After hearing the news that Lucia had been recaptured, Enoch immediately rushed over. But he was stopped by the housekeeper at the door. He looked at the closed door for a long time and his eyes were dark. The perfect sound insulation prevented him from perceiving anything inside the suite. After a long time, he turned around and left. When he met Byron outside the elevator, Byron bowed respectfully. The two looked at each other, but neither of them spoke. They just stood in silence.

In the bedroom, Malcolm gently placed Lucia on the bed and carefully covered her with the quilt. Then he sat on the edge of the bed and looked attentively at Lucia, whom he had not seen for a long time. The sadness he had felt while looking at the red dot disappeared in that moment. As he looked at Lucia’s sleeping face, it seemed like they had never been apart during this time.

Lucia’s face seemed to be much plumper than the last time he saw her. Was it because she was in a good mood after leaving him? Unconsciously, he reached out to touch Lucia’s face. It seemed that Lucia felt someone touching her. She frowned slightly. Maybe she smelled a familiar smell. She unconsciously leaned into Malcolm’s palm to feel the familiar warmth.

Finally, Malcolm couldn’t hold back his emotions and lowered his head and placed his lips on those of Lucia, who he had missed for a long time. Without further action, he just felt Lucia’s existence. After a long time, he slowly left Lucia’s lips and returned to his original sitting position. After staring at her like a treasure, he got up and left the room. Byron had drugged Lucia too much. It would take him at least another hour or two to wake up.

When he returned to the living room, Malcolm informed the housekeeper to let Byron and Enoch in. After a while, the two of them appeared in the suite. They unconsciously looked at the closed bedroom door then looked at Malcolm. His expression had returned to normal, and there was no emotion in his calm expression.

“Malcolm…” Enoch said.

“I know what I’m doing.” Malcolm stopped him.

Byron was sensible enough not to open his mouth, nor was he allowed to speak. What Enoch wanted to ask was why Malcolm didn’t inform Lowell as soon as possible that Lucia was in his hands. After all, every minute counted now. If they could attract Lowell earlier, their chances of winning would be much greater.

“But…” Enoch wanted to say something more, but he closed his mouth under Malcolm’s cold gaze.

The three men fell into an awkward silence. Enoch exchanged a look with Byron and sighed helplessly. Finally, a sound came from the closed door behind them, and the three men’s attention was focused on the door that was about to be opened.

Lucia woke up slowly. The last scene before she passed out came back to him. At the time, she sat on the stairs by the side of the road and waited for Lowell to come pick her up. Perhaps it was because there were bodyguards behind her that she relaxed her vigilance. Soon after smelling the slightly cold mint scent, she passed out. She only vaguely remembered a tall figure picking her up, and then all her memories were blank.

Was this Lowell’s enemy? Lucia couldn’t help but think of the scene where she almost died from a gunshot after being kidnapped. Lowell and Malcolm were the same type of people, so it was impossible for them not to make enemies. Lucia frowned slightly and looked a little helpless. She sighed silently and looked around.

The decoration resembled that of a hotel. Seeing the bedside notice board, Lucia was sure she was in a hotel. But where was the hotel? Was she still in South Africa? Or had she already left South Africa? Getting out of bed, Lucia staggered and tried to stand. It seemed like she often fell into situations of misery.

She walked to the door and gently turned the handle. Lucia saw the three men in the living room. The three turned their heads at the same time when they heard the sound of the doorknob. When the door opened, the four people’s eyes met in mid-air. After glancing at Byron, Enoch stood up.

“Malcolm, I’ll go out first. Sister-in-law, long time no see.” After saying goodbye to Malcolm, Enoch looked at Lucia and said in a strange tone.

“Mrs. Evans, please excuse me for my leave.” Byron followed him, saying in a tone that was neither humble nor arrogant.

After a while, they both left the presidential suite. Only Malcolm and Lucia remained in the big space. The atmosphere was a little weird. Lucia looked at Malcolm for a long time and closed her slightly open mouth. His palms were unusually sweaty in the cold winter.

“You… Why am I here?” Lucia asked indifferently.

This invisible distance pushed the two people even further apart. Anger was inexplicably buried in Malcolm’s eyes. He left the sofa and walked towards Lucia step by step. Lucia stepped back unconsciously. After a while, his back was against the wall and there was no way to escape. She placed her palms against the wall and seemed to gain courage.

After looking at Lucia for a long time, Malcolm suddenly leaned over and kissed Lucia on her lips. This time, the k**s was no longer as simple as just now, but full of nostalgia for Lucia for a long time. He roughly thrust his tongue into Lucia’s mouth, which opened slightly in surprise. Soon Malcolm’s tongue was wrapped around her tongue, and he kissed her passionately. He put his hands on Lucia’s waist to support her seemingly weak body.

“Tapping…”

A clear sound echoed in the room. Malcolm turned his head slightly, and there was a clear palm print on his cheek. Lucia glanced at her hand, and a feeling of fear naturally appeared in her mind. But as stubborn as she was, she looked at him defiantly.

“Wildcat, I told you not to show yourself in front of me in any way.” Tenderness was hidden in his eyes, and there was only coldness seen in his eyes.

Even if he didn’t, then when they were forced into a dead end, Enoch would do the same. If that happened, things might get out of Malcolm’s control. He had to make sure Lucia was unharmed. He knew very well that Lowell would also send bodyguards to protect Lucia. Perhaps he had had a glimmer of hope that Lucia would no longer appear before him.

If she didn’t show up, he and Lowell could fight more intensely instead of putting Lucia in a dilemma between the two of them.

“How did you know where I was?” Lucia ignored his words and asked directly.

She didn’t think Malcolm, who had been disconnected for a long time, could know where she was. Additionally, she had remained in a signal blocking area in South Africa, but Malcolm could easily replace her. And it was the first time she went out after entering South Africa. She had gone out without any specific purpose. The coincidence made Lucia feel weird.

Without answering her question, Malcolm looked at Lucia’s foot. Lucia looked at him in confusion then followed his gaze down to his ankle. The delicate anklet made her frown. The anklet was exquisite and delicate. Lucia had long forgotten that she had such a thing on her body.

Was it because of the ankle? Soon, Lucia was enlightened. There was a signal from a tracker on the ankle bracelet. The signal was automatically blocked when she was in the villa in South Africa because it was an external signal. Once she left the villa, Malcolm was easily able to replace her. Only in this way could she be brought here by her men while she walked aimlessly.

The look on his face confirmed Lucia’s guess. Lucia crouched down and tried to remove the tracker on her ankle. She wanted to cry. She had thought that she had gotten rid of Malcolm’s control and left his world, but she had never thought that they had never been disconnected. His comings and goings had always been under Malcolm’s surveillance.

“Don’t bother. You can’t take off this anklet unless you cut your foot. The probability of it accidentally breaking is zero.” What Malcolm said sent Lucia into an abyss of despair.

“Malcolm Evans…did you let me go on purpose that day? You wanted to lure Lowell with the help of that anklet? You are so despicable. From the beginning, you already set up this trap .From start to finish, you just used me. Maybe your feelings are hypocritical,” Lucia shouted angrily and accused Malcolm.

Remaining still, Malcolm did not deny Lucia’s accusation. Every word Lucia said cut his heart. His heart was torn by helplessness and despair. When that day came, he discovered that he was not as calm and resolute as he had thought.

Perhaps, in a relationship, no matter whether he is the attacker or the defender, he would sink into it unconsciously and could not get rid of the abyss.

“I gave you chances. I told you, wildcat, not to show yourself in front of me in any way.” Malcolm repeated the same words, as if that was the only way he could compensate for the vague hesitation in his heart.

“What do you want to do in Lowell?” Lucia tried to calm down.

“Do you care about him? » There was anger in Malcolm’s seemingly calm tone.

“I care about him, because he won’t use my feelings and trample on them like you do. He always showed me his feelings. Why don’t I care about such a man?” Lucia retorted word for word.

Yes, she cared about Lowell much more than she thought. However, the cold man in front of her now always appeared in front of her and changed his mind when she wanted to confirm her feelings. She hated this side of herself and the man in front of her.

Malcolm pinched Lucia’s chin to prevent her from looking away. Anger rose in Lucia’s eyes. It seemed to her that the emotions that had disappeared had all been rising in his heart for a long time.

The eyes of the two people met in the air. Apart from the provocation, only incomprehensible emotions remained in their eyes.
