It’s Love That Blinds Him – Chapter 16
In the Evans Group.
When Malcolm thought of Lucia running away again, his expression darkened. He felt like it was a challenge that was becoming more interesting every day. Lucia had undoubtedly exposed her dark side to a large extent. After all, she was the only one who had provoked him so many times and escaped his wrath. Besides, she was just a woman.
When Malcolm discovered that Lucia’s phone was turned off, he started looking for where she was. And to her surprise, she was in Zack’s private villa. This was where Zack’s mistresses lived. However, Lucia had access to the villa. Malcolm became furious when he learned this.
But then he learned that Lucia had gone alone, and that Zack had not accompanied her. Malcolm remembered what Lucia had told him before. She had said that she and Zack were actually lovers. “Is this why she has access to his villa? » Zack was the type of man who lost interest in a woman after only three months of dating, but Lucia had had access to his villa for several years.
In the previous investigative report that Malcolm obtained on Lucia which concerned her past, despite the fact that it indicates that she has a close relationship with Sophia, the young lady of the Young Group, there is no mention of Zack .
It was this feeling of uncertainty that made Malcolm morose and angry. “When did she become special to me?” “
Mr. Evans, your grandmother is on the phone,” Bob said politely over the phone.
“Transfer his call to me,” Malcolm said indifferently, bringing his mind back to reality.
“Malcolm, I heard you were having fun with an employee of a regular media company. Everyone is talking about it in town. Is it true? » Wilma’s voice came from the other end of the line. Even though she was old, her voice sounded like the queen.
“Grandma, you’re thinking about it too much. » Malcolm chose not to answer her question honestly.
“You are a smart man, Malcolm. And you know there are things you have to stop before it’s too late. After all, you are a man who must be responsible for his life. I invited Howell to dinner this Saturday, and I want you to come too. » Wilma’s words sounded more like an order than a request.
“I’ll be there at seven.” » Looking at his phone, Malcolm confirmed the time with his grandmother.
“Well, I have to hang up now. Take good care of yourself. » After saying that, Wilma hung up.
Malcolm stood up and walked towards the wide French doors of his office, where he looked out at the bustling traffic below. Men like him were often alone. Many people wanted to take over his position, while others simply wanted to get rid of him. Malcolm, on the other hand, could not allow anyone to touch the wealth that the Evans family had amassed through their toil and sweat.
Picking up his phone, he dialed a number and ordered, “Kaleb, check where he is.” »
“Yes, sir,” Kaleb replied in a respectful manner.
After hanging up, Malcolm headed towards his office. He tapped his fingers quickly on his desk as he stared at the address of Zack’s villa that Bob had provided him. A faint smile appeared on his lips and his expression darkened. He seemed a little frivolous, like he was a cat about to catch a mouse.
“Wildcat, I’ll give you a week off. Enjoy your last moment of peace.
Tearing his gaze away from the address, Malcolm took a document from his desk and read it carefully. Only after ensuring that there were no errors did he put his signature on it.
At the same time, Lucia felt like she hadn’t turned a page of the book she was reading in Zack’s villa for a long time. Zack’s phone call had disturbed his calm mind. She blushed quickly as she recalled her distraught nights with Malcolm as if they were a movie being played in her thoughts.
Malcolm’s smile, his dimples, his dark eyes and his long eyelashes remained engraved in his memory.
“I must be crazy…” Lucia thought, trying to push away such thoughts. She took her phone and turned it on. As she expected, there were several missed calls on her phone. Some were those of his colleagues, who were obviously interested in his private life, but there was also a call from an unknown number. She didn’t have to think long to figure out who it was. Frowning, she pretended she hadn’t seen the call and deleted the log. She then put her phone away.
Lucia considered escaping. However, she quickly realized that this wouldn’t work. Since Malcolm had already asked Zack about her, it was impossible for him not to know where she was. Although S City is a big city, Malcolm had great influence there. There was no way she could escape. And if she tried to get away from him, she would end up getting caught. She felt there was no point in thinking about it too much, and decided to let things happen.
She had been thinking too much lately, which had exhausted her, and so she yawned lazily. She didn’t expect her week off to be so peaceful.
