Jaded Hearts
Chapter 103

Taylor

“So, for as long as I’ve known him, Drew has been obsessed with social media. It was his way of getting the attention and gratification he felt he was missing in real life.

“He won’t be Facebook friends with Alaia or Jordyn, so he won’t see the posts about the baby shower. Those are more so to legitimize the lie. He’s also still blocked from all of my pages, so the fact that I’m tagged in the posts and comments won’t help us either.

“But he is friends with Alpha Witt, and so am I. Colton was very sweet when Drew and I dated, and we easily became friends. We ask him to post something on his wall and tag me in it, congratulating me on the wedding and babies … something like that.

“As far as we know, Drew is dead, so if Colton could throw a jab or two about me finally replaceing the right men, Drew wasn’t man enough for me, or anything like that, it would be perfect.

“Drew would definitely see it. He got every single notification on his phone, and I’d bet my entire bank account that he’s got a new phone and is once again trolling his pages, looking for sympathy or whatever else fuels him. Seeing that I’ve moved on with not one but both the men he hates most in the world, that I’m pregnant for them, and that his brother supports it will be all it takes. He won’t be able to help himself. He’ll have to prove that he’s the bigger man.”

Matt and Xander looked at me with shock and surprise written on their face, while Tyson had a big smile. He reached over and grabbed my face and gave me a huge k**s.

“That’s my girl! That’s the sexiest s**t I’ve ever heard come out of that beautiful mouth of yours,” he gushed.

“That’s really smart, tesoro. Each new layer to this just makes it more and more believable. I’m beyond impressed,” Matt added.

“What do you think, Xander? Do you think you can convince him to do it? We’re essentially asking him to help us kill his baby brother again. But he helped the last time, so hopefully, he’s alright with it,” I said.

“Taylor, you’re brilliant, sweetheart. I’m sure I can get him to agree. We’ve remained in contact over the past few months, and he’s got a good head on him. He also knows that Drew is a vamp now, which he was not happy to hear. This shouldn’t be a problem.”

Smiling, I turned to Matt. “Matt? What do you think? If you’re still against it all, then I’ll just stay home, but this is the best plan. If we just send Alaia, Morgan, and Aires, fine. But I need to be there to see this happen. I need to be able to close that chapter of my life. Please don’t take that from me.”

“I know how much this means to you, so let’s do it. Xander, make the call; let’s go piss off a vampire.”

Our unofficial meeting ended, and Xander and the guys went up to his office to make the call. I didn’t go with them; I didn’t need details. We were about to purposely antagonize a psychotic, vengeful vampire. Not the smartest thing, but the best thing for my family for sure.

When I got the Facebook notification, I was nervous to read it. I knew that Drew was probably getting it as well.

“Let’s read it together, shall we? It will be the last thing we ever do together, you fucker,” I mumbled to myself.

I just got the best news ever! Congratulations on the wedding and the pregnancy, Taylor! Matt and Tyson are very lucky to call you theirs. It’s too bad you didn’t meet me before my piece of s**t little brother, or I would have married you myself. The dude was a major i***t! All the best, beautiful. XOXO #HisLoss #BlueMoon #DarkWoods #Alliance

“Oh, the betrayal! That should do the trick. I love the addition of the alliance too. That’ll really piss him off!” I yelled out.

“Talking to yourself now? Should I be worried?” Alexi asked.

He had just walked into the living room right as I was having my little celebration.

“We should all be worried. Check this out!” I replied, passing him my phone.

As he read, I filled him in on the updated plan.

“Damn, Drew’s going to blow a gasket when he sees that.”

“He’s already seen it—trust me. We’re more than guaranteed that he’ll come after me now.”

“And you’re excited about that?”

“Hell yeah, I am! f**k him. I’m sick of thinking about him and sick of him sticking his nose in my business. This last jab to his manhood was just what he deserves, that and more.”

“I want to ask if this is just the hormones talking, but Alaia would kick my a*s for that.”

“You’re a smart man because so would I.”

He laughed, then looked around. “It’s a good plan. If I don’t watch out, you’ll be taking my job soon. I’m going to go replace the guys and see where we are with everything. I’m wondering why nobody told me about this until now.”

“The plan is still the same; we just guaranteed Drew would show up. I doubt it was anything personal.”

“I know it wasn’t, but still. It’s hard to strategize if you don’t know all the details. I’ll talk to you later.”

He passed me my phone, and I reread the message. It was already getting likes, which I knew would piss Drew off even more. Something slamming him instead of praising him should never get likes or attention.

I’d love to be a fly on the wall watching him lose his f*****g mind right now.

Drew

“Every one of those fuckers is going to die!” I roared as I stormed through the halls.

My own b***d betrayed me like this? After all the years I’d looked up to him, he celebrates my misfortune? Well, f**k him too!

“Andrew, shut your god damned mouth. This is not how a lieutenant behaves,” Lancaster appeared before me and said.

“Have you seen this? She’s married, she’s f*****g the bear, and she’s pregnant again! I told you we should’ve moved on them months ago!” I screamed as I showed him my phone.

“And I told you we weren’t ready; that you weren’t ready. You don’t take a newborn into a battle. That’s idiotic and juvenile. You were just begging to be killed.”

“f**k that. I’m ready now. I’m taking them out—all of them.”

“Let’s go to my quarters and talk. We shouldn’t discuss this out in the open.”

He walked away without a care in the world, pissing me off even more. He wasn’t taking this s**t seriously, and that was a problem for me. I was going to kill that b***h and everyone she loved. Lancaster couldn’t stop me.

Once we got to his room, I just paced the floor. I needed to figure out how to get to her. I’d rip that baby from her f*****g womb and make sure those assholes she was screwing witnessed it all.

“I can shimmer in, snatch her, and shimmer out. They’ll never know I’m there, and by the time they realize she’s gone, it’ll be too late. Taylor and the filth she’s carrying will already be dead.”

“Think, Andrew. That’s a terrible idea. If you take her, they will retaliate. It will likely be both packs, and when we get attacked—because you know we will—there will be no guarantee we’ll achieve the ultimate goal. All of Blue Moon has to suffer; they all have to die. That only works if we hit them where it hurts. If we get the women, the men will be weak with grief. It’s our only shot.”

“The ultimate goal? That’s your f*****g goal, not mine! I just want the bear and the ones at the top. Nobody else matters to me.”

“My goal is your goal, or have you already forgotten? It’s my b***d that runs through your veins and my b***d that keeps you in the land of the undead. Don’t f**k this up for me, or you’ll see the same fate as the last person who held your title. We take them all out. No exceptions.”

I hated this prick. I never asked to be turned into a god damned vamp. I hated bloodsuckers, and now I was one. It’s no wonder Killian never came back. This motherfucker killed him when he injected me with his poisonous b***d. At this point, I was willing to kill him just to be done with the bullshit. Yes, I’d die along with him, but as long as I made the wolves suffer beforehand, it would all be worth it.

“So, what do you suggest? If I can’t shimmer in to get her, and they guard the women like they’re f*****g royalty, how do we do this?”

“We let them come to us. Well, not exactly to us, but close enough.”

He passed me an iPad showing another Facebook page raving about a baby shower. I already knew the cunt was pregnant. Why would I give a flying f**k about the tiny f*****g shoes and s**t she and the other bitches would go all gooey over?

“Why do I care about this s**t? Oh, that’s right. I don’t,” I said as I passed it back to him.

“Your attitude leaves much to be desired, Andrew. Read it.”

He shoved the pad back in my hand, and I scanned the page and saw that Blue Moon’s Luna was going on and on about traveling to her old pack. It was her brother and sister-in-law’s baby shower, and she’d be with Taylor and Morgan. But most importantly, they’d be without their guard dogs.

All three of them in the same place, unprotected, in the middle of nowhere. It was perfect.

“How did you replace this?” I asked.

“If you’d listen more than you spoke, you would have known. One of the guards stumbled upon it when he was scouring their pages, looking for a weak spot. We’ve known for a week. The party is this upcoming Saturday.”

“You’ve known for a week, and no one told me?”

“You were at the f*****g briefing, Andrew. As I said before, you don’t listen. I had to call the meeting before time because you kept zoning out. You’re running out of chances here. Get your s**t together and help me lead this coven, or I’ll replace somebody else who will!”

“Whatever. So, you and I go in, snatch them, then bring them back here? Live stream us tearing them apart, so their men get a front-row seat to hear them scream?”

“Close, but not quite. It won’t just be you and me. We’re taking the entire coven.”

“Why? It’s just three little women. I could take them out myself.”

“I’m a showman, Andrew, and you always give them a show.”
