Chapter 2: Kristopher

Kristopher had the woman bent over the bathroom counter of his night club as he fucked her, her dress hiked up around her hips. He gauged her reaction in the mirror, the women’s black hair strewn out of her ponytail. Her eyes were closed, her moans dulling the blasting music that reverberated through the walls. She is getting close, he thought. His eyes shifted to his own reflection.

Kristopher’s blonde hair had been spiked gently. His brown eyes were melting into an auburn fire as his hunger surfaced his red eyes. His large, six-foot frame kept the woman splayed against the counter, one of his large hands pressed against her back. His chiseled jaw extended slightly as his fangs descended from his gums. He sighed in relief and increased his thrusting into the woman. It had been two weeks since his last meal, and it had taken all of his strength to not rip this woman apart. He ran his togue over his fangs as he licked his lips. He realized that women typically welcomed pain as they reached their orgasm, making it the opportune moment for him to feed. The woman’s breathing increased, and her moans contorted into screams of pleasure. Kristopher’s auburn fire exploded in his eyes as he bent down and plunged his fangs into her neck.

Kristopher groaned as the metallic elixir filled his mouth, the woman’s erratic heartbeat deafening him. He tightened his grasp on the woman he thrust harshly into her with his fangs deeply rooted into her neck. He felt her body spasm beneath him as she orgasmed. He quickly began inhaling her blood through his fangs as he realized his time was running out. He grunted against her as he felt his own release surge through him while her warm blood coated his throat. He snarled softly as the woman tried to move away from him with a giggle. Reluctantly, he withdrew his fangs and quickly slid his tongue along the wound on her neck to erase any evidence. Immediately, the wound began to heal. The auburn fire quickly extinguished itself, and his chocolate brown eyes returned.

Kristopher pulled himself out of the woman, allowing her to stand. She turned to face him while she straightened her dress. “Go,” his deep voice commanded before the woman could speak. She scoffed and exited the bathroom. Kristopher sighed and discarded the condom before he straightened his suit. He was unable to impregnate a human since humans and vampires were not the same species, but he never fucked without the latex. I did not live for three hundred years to die of a fucking STD, he thought as he adjusted his tie. Especially with how many women threw themselves at his feet over the years. It was highly unlikely for a vampire’s metabolism to not fight off any sort of infection, but it was not unheard of.

Kristopher’s black suit brightened the light color of his skin. His fingers ran over his dark blue tie, and he buttoned the bottom three buttons of his suit jacket. Being the owner of a night club, he needed to ensure that he looked the part. Suits are probably how I get laid so much, he thought. Women seem to like a man in a suit. Kristopher’s vampirism kept his physique preserved in the body of a twenty-five-year-old man. The muscles in his arms stretched against the constricting fabric of his suit. He loathed suits, he much preferred jeans and a t-shirt, but the suit never failed at obtaining sustenance. It’s not like I can feed the way that I used to, he thought.

Basking in the blood of a human, watching the light fade from her eyes as he engorged in every single drop of blood until there was nothing left. A light shiver ran down his spine at as he reminisced. He cursed himself as the reminiscence made his erection twitch back to life. He had exhausted having sex for pleasure years ago, as well as trying to locate a life companion. Sex became associated with food, and he did not see the point in trying to obtain a life companion in a world overrun with humans. Humans have the lifespan of flies compared to him, and he had not found one human yet to fully entrust with his secret.

Kristopher was not the only vampire alive, but he was well aware that vampirism was a dangerous announcement in a world amongst humans. Humans do not want to live in a world where they are at the bottom of the food chain, where they are the prey instead of the predator. His kind would be exterminated the second that they revealed themselves. Kristopher had relationships with vampires before, but it always seemed to be a power struggle, especially with feeding.

Kristopher exited the bathroom, the blasting techno music reminding him that it was rave night. Multicolored strobe lights drenched the color of every person’s skin in the club. Purple, blue, green, red. He walked past the satin booths that lined the wall next to the hallway, couples enjoying the company of each other amongst the satin. Straight ahead was his destination, the bar. The shelves of the bar were lined with the most expensive liquor that Kristopher could replace, some of it imported. The bartender was a human woman with her black hair tied into a ponytail. She was wearing a red tank top that severely accented her breasts, almost threatening them to pop out, and a pair of skintight jeans. The chrome surface of the bar had been littered with empty glasses. She had a black rag in hand and wiped down the spot underneath the cups that she collected from the bar as she worked her way down. She was the only bartender scheduled for weekends, but she worked so fast and was so favorited by his customers that she preferred to bartend alone. A cute bartender, working alone, who made great drinks, was often met with generous tips.

“Hey, Alisha,” Kristopher said as he approached the bar. He placed his hands on the bar and leaned himself forward slightly.

“Hey, boss,” Alisha smiled as she circled back to him.

“You still doing okay? I know that tonight is rather busy.”

“I’m fine, I promise,” she said as she placed the used cups in the sink. “Your new DJ is pretty good, too.”

“Yeah, Jack had mentioned that. Big reason why I’m here tonight,” Kristopher nodded. “Can you make my regular?”

“Of course,” Alisha smiled. Kristopher nodded his gratitude and focused his attention on the dance floor.

While Kristopher owned the club, Knight Life’s day-to-day operations were handled by his manager, Jack. Kristopher would spot check the paperwork every Sunday morning, to be sure that no money was disappearing, and that inventory was calculated and ordered accordingly. He had known Jack for the last ten years, which had earned his trust. Knight Life opened in Canada almost three years ago, and Kristopher had needed help to get it on its feet. Once him and Jack made it operational with reliable staffing, Kristopher had taken a step back and allowed Jack to manage from a distance. Life and money were a necessity, but not the reason that he was in Vancouver. He had toured the states numerous times in his life, he thought that life elsewhere would help fulfill him. Not to mention, he had been assigned to kill a threat posed to his species; the Master and Mistress vampires had received confirmation that the threat was in Vancouver, which prompted him further to re-locate.

“Here you are, Mr. Knight,” Alisha’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts.

“Thank you, darlin’,” Kristopher nodded as he took his glass. Alisha nodded in acknowledgment and walked to the other side of the bar to tend to her new patrons. The whiskey with ice in his glass simultaneously burned and cooled his throat as he sipped it. He turned away from the bar and began walking over to the staircase near the bathrooms. A red rope blocked off access to the second level from the public. Kristopher leaned his back against the wall that connected to the staircase. His eyes skimmed the ocean of the bodies writhing on the dance floor. He took another sip of his drink and his eyes landed on the DJ booth.

The new DJ was camouflaged by the strobe lights. The bouncer placed in front of the booth had his arms crossed over his chest as his eyes remained on the ocean of people in front of him. The crowd was kept at a respectable distance from the DJ booth, but Kristopher knew how unpredictable humans could be. The bouncer, Kaleb, was rather intimidating for a human. Kristopher was taller than Kaleb, but Kaleb’s strength was much more defined than Kristopher’s. It appeared that way, anyway. Kaleb had dark skin with piercing green eyes, his large arm muscles restricting his wardrobe to sleeveless shirts. Kristopher briefly contemplated approaching the DJ booth to introduce himself, and to locate the faint source of lavender in the air. It had been quite some time since he had met a witch, let alone fed on one. It’s her first night, no need to stress her out even more by meeting me, he thought as his mind returned to his DJ. Besides, I can a pretty decent view of the booth from upstairs to look at her and try to locate the witch.

Kristopher ascended the staircase, and his fingers trailed along the banister. Directly ahead of him on the second floor were three black suede couches overlooking the dance floor through the balcony railing. A deep oak coffee table was positioned in the middle of the couches for drinks. A grin spread on his face as he saw two of his best friends, his only true friends. Kristopher interacted with very few vampires, but these two vampires were by far his favorite.
