27. Alpha Meeting

When Kai and I parked our motorcycles outside Fang, we already had our shit figured out. Ofcourse, this plan heavily depends on where Stefan is located because as much as he doesn't want toadmit it, Kai is out for blood.

The fucker might have taken Nikolai, and from what Nova has told us, our little brother is still alive.That in itself is enough to drive Kai to a massacre.

"Everyone's here,” Kai says when we step inside the bar, and I can see what he means.

We closed the club for tonight, so we all could meet and plan out our attack for tomorrow. Thescents in here would have knocked your average wolf to the ground in submission, but no one isbacking down, not even Zephyr.

Gathered were Dimitri and Zephyr from our pack; they were behind the bar, watching everyone.Cain, who did not look happy at all, with his two Betas sitting on my stage, and last but not least,three members from Hellfire Horsemen without their Beta, Ruin.

Ryker, the older Alpha and President of the MCC Pack ruling one half of DC: the man stood tall,muscles bulging as he lifted his glass to his mouth. He's on the same level as Kai when it comes tostrength, which is why I think the two cannot come to an agreement.

Blight, the Gamma, leaning against the bar and watching the Rogues. He reminds me of Nikolai -full of spunk and way too curious for his own good. He's of average height, blonde hair, grey eyesand tattoos that reach his neck. I have heard that this is not a Gamma you want as an enemy.Lastly, Tenebris the Delta, sitting with his back to the door. Long, black hair, piercings in hiseyebrows as well as his ears and lips. Basically a walking fucking Goth werewolf, but I wouldn't fuckwith him either way. Apparently, his claws contain poison dangerous to his own kind due tosomething in his blood.

“Kai,” Ryker says when he spots us and walks over. “Thank you for having me.”

“Thank you for coming,” my brother responds and shakes his hand. I watch as everyone stops whatthey're doing when Kai calls for their attention.

“The reason I have called for everyone here is because of a common enemy. Firstly, Ryker, thank youagain for heeding my call this time. We have reason to believe that the accord between you and theDawnGuard Pack will be no more due to them planning a coup.”

When Kai says this, I can literally see the anger burning behind Ryker's crimson eyes.

"Where did you get your intel?” he asks in a gruff voice and puts down his glass of liquor.

Cain stands up from the stage and walks over, crossing his arms. “From me,” he says, levelling theAlpha with a gaze.

Ryker looks at Cain and frowns. “The Rogue? You actually believe what he has to say?” He says andscoffs. “He's been trying to start a war with DawnGuard for years, Kai. Don't believe the lies hespews.”

Cain growls and stomps over to Ryker, his blue eyes flashing, but I get up and hold him back. “Notthe time,” I say through gritted teeth and shake my head, pushing him back. I don't want a fuckingfight right now when we need all of these wolves to be on the same page.

“This Rogue you speak so lowly of is the only surviving son of your best friend, Caesar Black, TrueAlpha of the Silver Sun pack and brother to my mate,” Kai says, looking at Ryker, who has adumbfounded look on his face. “Use your Sight on him if you don’t believe me.”

Ryker walks over to Cain and grips his throat before I even have a chance to react. His eyes gowhite, like Cat's do when she has her visions. He then looks at the Rogue, taken aback at what hesaw and clicks his tongue.

"Why have you not claimed your rightful territory as Caesar's son instead of handling things the wayyou have been? Why not come to me, the man your father made your godfather and ask me forhelp?” He asks Cain, who chuckles as he rubs his throat.

"Who would believe a Rogue?” Cain scoffs, using Ryker's earlier words against him

“Fair enough,” he says with a curt nod, “tell me what infant Alpha Derric has planned for me.”

Cain grins and explains how they intend to breach the borders and take out the Hellfire Horseman.He got this specific intel from one of his warriors mates, who belongs to DawnGuard and wishes toleave, but Derric refuses to accept her rejection. The cocky 20-year-old killed his father and tookover as Alpha a year ago while simultaneously running the pack into the ground.

Hence the reason Ryker calls him an infant.

Ryker clears his throat and looks at Kai. “What do you wish for in return for giving me this valuableinformation? Not that the DawnGuard would have succeeded, but it's nice knowing where theirloyalties lie.” He says.

Kai looks over at me, and I nod; I can't speak for myself right now because an Alpha would onlyrespect another Alpha in a situation like this. Dimitri and Zephyr have also been asked to remainquiet, and I am certain so have the other Betas.

“Tomorrow night, we plan to attack the stronghold of an Incubus who has Konstantin's pregnantmate and my youngest brother held captive. Not only do we want to breach the territory, but wewill be taking out the entire so-called pack and will require as much strength as possible.” Mybrother explains.

“The men with him are true wolves, but he himself is a demon. We have the means to eliminate himbut will need a few hands to take out his 300-man pack.”

"We'll be there; name the time and place,” Ryker says with a nod and looks over at me withsympathy in his eyes. He doesn't ask questions about what Kai just told him; he just accepts it. Ithink this is a good thing; perhaps it's the start of a good accord with the Horsemen.

I hope to fucking God he doesn't replace out who Lily's brother is; that will throw everything out thedamn window.

My brother looks over at Cain. “This is where we need you,” he says.

“Brooklyn; the ruined mansion of the Sable Hide Pack.” He answers, leaning back against the barcounter.

I look at Kai and see the grin on his face. “Guess I will be joining you, after all, brother,” he says andclaps my back while chuckling. “Brooklyn tomorrow night, 6 PM.”

Ryker walks over to Cain and extends his hand. “I'll rid my territory of the ones attacking and willkeep watch over my old friend's region until his heir is ready to take up the mantle.” He says.

I have never seen a scary-looking, bulky man so close to fucking tears before.

The Horsemen nod, then walk out of Fang after shaking our hands in agreement.

I have to admit that this comes as a bit of relief because, truth be told, even if I am a fucking toughbastard, Kai can take out an entire army. It's a cowardly thing to admit to, but I fucking need mybrother there with me.

Cain walks over to the bar counter and places his palms on it before breathing out a sigh. “Fuck, Ihate Ryker,” he says and downs the glass Zephyr just put in front of him. “Thanks, Z."

“Don’t mention it,” Zephyr says and gives him a refill before walking away.

I laugh and take a seat next to him. “Having both him and Kai in the same room must have beenoverwhelming.”

He looks horrified at my words. “Did it show?"

“Nah,” I say, “They're two of the most powerful Alphas, and they were just in the same fucking roomtogether. If I weren't so pissed off at the entire thing with Stefan, I would be shitting myself.”

Kai, Ryker, Fenriz, Bastien and the Female Azura - these five Alphas rule the good old US of A, withKai being the most powerful due to his God status.

Cain chuckles. “Fuck, that's true,” he says, then his smile drops when Kai approaches him.

“You required my help; state what you need of me,” he says.

The look on the Rogue Alpha's face is priceless; Kai still terrifies him but to hear an Alpha say thesewords to you is another thing entirely.

“There is no way Derric would leave his estate as his warriors are sent out to kill the Horsemen,” hestarts. “What I need is for you to lure him to New York so I can put my plan into motion.”

Kai nods. “Is that all?"

"Yes, but I need you not to interfere when the time comes, no matter what Derric might say.” Cainfinishes. This sounds dodgy as Hell, but we've already come this far; the DawnGuard have proventhemselves untrustworthy by planning to attack Ryker.

A look crosses Kai's face when Cain says this, but he nods his head anyway. “Agreed, but afterwards,we will need to sign an accord; you're the brother of my mate, and she will want to get to knowyou.” He says.

Cain's eyes widened. “Why would she want to know me at all? Can't you change her mind?”

I burst out laughing at this, and Kai glares at me. “I'm sorry, but that's hilarious. Since when has Catever listened to you?” I say, slapping the counter and ordering Zephyr to hand me the entire bottleof Jack.

Before I can take it off the bar counter, Kai growls and gives me a jab to the gut, winding me."Fuck you for that, but we all know Cat has a mind of her own. Face it, brother, your mate is not afucking timid consort.” I grab my stomach and laugh, holding up my hand in surrender.

As much as he hated it, it didn't stop the pride from flashing in his crimson eyes as he puffed out hischest. He loves that little brat of a girl, and she has him wrapped around her fucking finger.

Cain looks bewildered as he takes in the banter between Kai and me. “You'll learn more about herand see what I mean,” I say and shake my head.

Kai grabs the bottle of Jack from the counter and holds it aloft. “Tomorrow, we take back what isrightfully ours - here's to fucking bloody vengeance.” He says and takes a swig before handing it tome. I do the same and pass it around, watching the resolve fill everyone's eyes.

To have a man like Kai and Ryker lead us into the enemy territory makes me feel like we've won thisalready. Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, I'll have Lily back in my arms.
