Chapter 468

The distance between Millie and Winston was far too great. Even if he tried to swim over, he would be too exhausted to make it. This was the sea, after

“Winston,” Millie called out softly.

Even in the tumultuous sea, he heard her clearly.

Millie’s eyes grew red as she struggled to stay afloat. “I don’t regret saving you once,” she murmured. “But I can’t bring myself to put my life in your

hands now.”

She had escaped death three years ago. Was she really going to meet her

end here?

Winston heard Millie’s words, but they were muffled and hard to understand. The sound of the waves crashing was deafening. The sea had been so calm when they set sail, yet now it felt overwhelming and chaotic.

“Win, my leg is cramping. It hurts so much.” Joanna suddenly struggled.

By that point, Winston no longer had the strength to swim toward Millie.

The deck was in a state of panic, with people frantically scrambling. ” Someone, save them!”

“Hurry up!”

“Where’s the rescue team?”

Inside the safe room, the rescue team was tightly bound.

Meanwhile, Jeremy stood outside the door with his head lowered, playing with a knife. He silently vowed that Millie had to die tonight.

Sean had just come up from the fourth floor when he heard a group of

people shouting, “Hurry! Millie’s about to go under!”

Millie? Sean rushed over upon hearing her name. Wasn’t she on the deck?

As he reached the railing, he saw Millie struggling alone in the ocean.

As she sank below the surface, her mind swirled with confusion, her past

Right then, a boat approached, and she felt a firm grip around her waist before being lifted from the water.

Suddenly, the rush of fresh air filled her lungs. As she gradually opened her eyes. Sean’s face came into focus

“Get on the boat! Quick!” Marvin’s urgent voice followed.

Millie frowned, and then she lost consciousness.

“Move out of the way! Everyone, move!

On the deck, people quickly stepped back, creating a large open space.

Sean patted Millie’s face, calling, “Millie? Millie! Wake up, Millie!”

On the other hand, Marvin loosened his collar and hurried over to perform CPR on her.

Millie had inhaled a lot of water. Beside her lay two people.

When Winston’s gaze fell on Millie, it felt as though his heart was being torn apart. She was pleading for his help, but he was utterly powerless.

he couldn’t rescue Millie. But if he had saved Millie, Joanna would be dead by now

Winston’s eyes reddened, and a single tear escaped down his cheek. He finally understood what heartache truly was. The pain cut deeper than any of the setbacks he had faced in his career

“Millie.. I’m sorry,” he apologized inwardly.

As Winston drifted into unconsciousness, Eli arrived at his side.

“Mr. Greer! Mr. Greer!” Eli shook Winston’s shoulder.

Eli glanced at Millie before shifting his gaze back to Winston. “Mr. Greer…”

He had finally gotten to the bottom of it. The one who had rescued Winston back then wasn’t Joanna. It was… Millie!
