Chapter 67

As soon as everyone heard this, they immediately nodded in agreement.

“She’s just an ordinary woman who married at a young age.” These words kept echoing in Millie’s ears.

“I almost believed your bullshit. I thought that Ms. Lowell’s Snowdrop was fake!”

“You should get out of here with your rose!”

The crowd became restless again and mocked Millie mercilessly.

Each sentence of theirs was like a boulder weighing on her chest, making her suffocate.

She had backed down because she didn’t want Selma to be upset, but it became grounds for the

others to hurt her even more.

Since that was the case, she would prove to them whose Snowdrop was the real one!

Millie took the identification device from Marvin. Amidst the mockery of the crowd, she scanned the Snowdrop she had brought.

“Mills!” Selma called out to her, her eyes filled with worry.

The crowd was still discussing among themselves when a crisp automated female voice from the device declared, “The item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade and rare medicinal material. There’s only one in this world, and the value is immeasurable.”

Because it was noisy, many people didn’t hear the results of the identification device.

Looking at the crowd’s judgemental faces, Millie scanned her Snowdrop again.

The automated female voice sounded again. “The item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade and rare medicinal material. There’s only one in this world, and the value is immeasurable.”

Millie pressed the repeat button.

The device did as it was told. “The item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade…”

“The item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade…

“The item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade…

All of a sudden, the venue fell silent.

Joanna’s expression turned dark immediately, and her heart skipped a beat.

Millie’s Snowdrop was the real deal?

Not only was Joanna stunned, but so was the crowd.

“Mills, your Snowdrop is real?” Gloria was dumbfounded.

Millie pressed the repeat button, and once again, the automated female voice could be heard. “The

item is identified as Snowdrop. It’s a top–grade…”

Millie didn’t explain herself and let the results of the device speak for her. Did she even need to say that this was the real Snowdrop now?

Those who had been aggressive to her were silent right now.

“Then…” Selma pointed at the Snowdrop that Joanna brought.

Without hesitation, Millie scanned the herb with the device.

In less than five seconds, the results were out. “The item is identified as a low–grade herb. Its value is around two thousand dollars. Because it is damaged, the value is estimated to be around five hundred dollars…‘

Everyone held their breath and tightened their grip on their wine glasses. It was fake. The Snowdrop that Joanna had brought was actually fake!

Millie raised her head and looked at the crowd. She asked, “Do you want to hear it again?”

The crowd kept quiet. Millie pressed on the repeat button a few more times. “The item is identified as a low–grade herb. Its value…”

It was not an ordinary herb, but a low–grade one.

“The Lowell family is really dedicated!” Millie looked at Joanna with a smile. “Is this the so–called birthday present that cost one billion dollars, prepared for Mrs. Greer Senior by the Lowell family?”

Everyone was stunned. Joanna had actually given a fake Snowdrop to Selma.

Joanna’s expression was grim, and she couldn’t even breathe. She was finished…

Marvin smiled. Enjoying Joanna’s pale face, he took advantage of the situation and said, “The Lowell family has long announced to the world that they had obtained the Snowdrop, but now, it’s been proven that it’s a fake. Aren’t you just humiliating yourself? Or is it that you don’t take Mrs. Greer Senior’s birthday banquet seriously at all?”
