Leaving While Pregnant:He Goes Crazy!
Chapter 602 May Every Year Exceed Our Expectations, and May Happiness Persist Year after Year (Finale)

Eva truly understood Emily's feelings. If the two of them were to be together, it would be a crossing of social classes.

"But, personally, I think if he said those things to you, it shows that he really cares about you. He doesn't want such things to tie you down or create obstacles between you," Eva said. Men like Nathan were rare to come by.

He was self-made, with no parents or relatives, and seemed like a simple man. People like him knew exactly what they wanted to pursue in life.

The path he would take in the future, including his marriage, was something he had all planned out. So, him approaching Emily now meant he had thought it through and was clear about what he was doing. "I know."

With her eyes downcast, Emily spoke, "Before, I didn't quite believe it. I thought maybe he just couldn't accept my sudden resignation, but when I went to buy gifts for Ruby and the others, I found out that he'd been using the pen I gave him as a gift for many years... which I bought at a discount."

It might sound like a trivial matter, but for Nathan, who had billions, it was something precious.

At least that was how she felt about it.

Eva listened quietly to her vent as her lips curled up slightly.

"Actually, you don't have to be so conflicted. If you like him, just be brave and try. I mean, even if you guys get together, it's not like you'll go straight to the altar. Maybe after being together, you'll change your mind?"

"That makes sense. Then I won't overthink it. I'll just try dating him, right? It's just starting a relationship, after all." Emily was originally very conflicted, but after taking in her best friend's advice, she felt much more relaxed. "Yes, life allows for trial and error. It's okay if you make mistakes. Who can guarantee that what they do first is the right thing?"

"Eva, you're really wonderful. You're my savior."

Emily's inner conflicts vanished, and she couldn't help calling out Eva's name softly as she moved forward to embrace her.

"If I hadn't met you during the most challenging time of my life, my life would probably have ended early on, not to mention having the life I do now or meeting him."

Eva hugged her back, gently patting her shoulder.

Eva was aware of how grateful Emily felt for their friendship.

"So, thank you, really."

The next day, Nathan and Emily didn't rush to leave, but stayed with the Blackwoods.

As it was the New Year, everywhere was bustling with festivities. The group, along with the children, visited various tourist spots.

During this time, Margaret heard that a certain church was particularly popular, so she led the family to attend a service. The church was located on a hilltop, and it took about half an hour to hike from the base of the hill to the top.

At first, the two children were excited to hike by themselves but after about ten minutes, they grew tired. Ruby tried to climb onto her mother, Eva, but Adrian swiftly picked her up instead.

Dylan managed to persevere for another five minutes before he too grew tired. Just as Kim was about to pick him up, Nathan stepped in.

"I can carry him," Nathan offered, hoisting Dylan onto his back.

"That's so kind of you," Kim thanked him.

"No problem, I work out regularly. Carrying a child is quite easy for me," Nathan replied.

Eva watched this scene without comment. After all, there were only two young men present, and it was probably embarrassing for Nathan to let Kim do the heavy lifting.

Margaret, who was watching from the side, felt her admiration for Nathan increase. Emily was Eva's close friend, and she was a very well-behaved and lovely girl, so Margaret had a soft spot for her.

Previously, Margaret had thought about introducing Emily to some potential suitors, but now that Emily had met such an outstanding person like Nathan, Margaret was naturally happy for her.

Now that she was certain about Nathan's good character, Margaret didn't mind giving them a little push. So, she suggested with a smile, "Nathan, I've heard that this church has a special prayer for those seeking love. If you're interested, you might want to say a prayer."

After saying this, she glanced meaningfully at Emily, "And Emily, you should pray as well."

Caught off guard by Margaret's suggestion, Emily blushed and remained silent.

Nathan glanced at Emily's flushed face and chuckled. This trip was indeed worthwhile, and the Blackwood family were truly warm-hearted people.

If he could have such a family in the future, it would indeed be something to look forward to.

"Alright, I'll sincerely pray. Thank you for letting me know, Aunt Margaret," Nathan agreed.

Margaret waved her hand in dismissal, her face full of joy.

They reached the hilltop after another ten minutes.

The weather was beautiful, and from the top of the hill, the clouds seemed so close that they felt they could reach out and touch them. The rolling hills below, connected to a distant village, made for a picturesque view. Many tourists were taking photos, some of the scenery, others posing with the scenery. Eva and the others also took several photos before purchasing candles from a nearby vendor.

The church was bustling with people, even lighting a candle required waiting in line.

Nathan was in front of Emily, and she was surprised to see him kneel down sincerely and close his eyes, as if making a wish.

Seeing this, Emily was both surprised and touched.

"Are you not going to pray?" Eva asked from behind her.

Snapping back to reality, Emily quickly moved forward and closed her eyes. She had been preoccupied with thoughts of Nathan, but when she closed her eyes, her mind suddenly cleared. "I wish for my family to be safe and healthy. As for me... I hope to replace someone who truly loves me, for a long, long time."

Her wishes were simple. After making her wish, she turned around and met Nathan's gaze. Emily's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly placed her candle in the holder.

It was now Eva's turn to pray. As she knelt down, Adrian joined her.

"What are you going to wish for?" Adrian asked, raising an eyebrow at her.

Eva smirked slightly, "If I tell you, it won't come true. Make your own wish and stop asking me."

With that, she closed her eyes. Adrian had no choice but to look away.

Actually, his wish was simple. Even if he didn't tell anyone, everyone knew what it was. All he wanted was her.

Eva didn't have any special desires either. Her wishes were as simple and pure as anyone else's: for her family to be safe and healthy, and for the two children to grow up safely. After thinking about this, Eva paused slightly and opened her eyes to look at Adrian.

His face was serious and devout as he closed his eyes. She then closed her eyes again.

"May every year exceed our expectations, and may happiness persist year after year." The end.
