KAREENA.

"Mm?" I ask, my eyes closed. We didn't sleep, and morning has arrived, but even now, I don't want to sleep...

I'm exhausted, but at some point, we began talking... too exhausted to make love any longer, but neither of us wanted to sleep.

For the first time, we were so open; it felt beautiful.

This night was beautiful.

Goddess, he smells so good. His arm is under my head as we lay naked on the rug on the floor. I feel so damn achy but even now his naked body against mine is messing with me but even more than that, I am content.

"Favourite colour?" he murmurs, his fingers combing through my hair soothingly.

"White and blue... yours?"

"Possibly grey or black." His lips graze down my shoulder and a soft sigh escapes me.

"Your dream?" I ask, my eyes fluttering open and I gaze into his eyes.

He's looking directly at me. His gorgeous green eyes are crystal clear, and I reach up, brushing my fingers through his hair.

"To live a life with my sexy mate, my friends who are my family and a couple of pups... a life that is full of happiness, contentment and tranquillity... Friday night get-togethers, Saturday nights would be for you and me.. and Sundays.. we spend with our pups. We'll have plenty if you're cool with that.." His voice is low and husky, but as he speaks of the vision he has, it fills me with warmth!

A dream that I want too...

"That's a beautiful dream."

"Yours?" he asks.

I had stopped dreaming long ago... but I have one. I lean closer to him, and he pulls me against him and I'm grateful for it. I don't have the energy anymore.

"You... to grow old together, surrounded by our children," I say, looking down. I touch my forehead to his chest.

The sound of his beating heart brings me happiness and warmth.

"Sounds like we're on the same page," he replies huskily.

"Just... don!t... I know you will do everything you need to, to protect others and to fight for whatever cause... but... I don't want to lose you." I say.

I've never voiced it, never voiced that selfish thought that has often surfaced in my mind... "To protect others... I don't want it to cost us

"I open my eyes, my heart thumping, expecting him to look disappointed.

"Rina..."

"No... I just, Shane was selfless, and I knew he'd put others before himself, even at the cost of our happiness. He only thought of protecting others and serving his Alpha and I know in that last moment he was only doing what he felt was right. He was a protector.. but I don't want to lose you." I look into his eyes, which are now glowing yellow.

"You don't need to worry. You are my priority and there is no way I will do something that would harm you. I give you my word that I will always put your well-being first." He says, gripping the side of my head,

He means it, I can see it in his eyes...

My heart pounds as he kisses me, sealing his promise,

Yes... Shane was always ready to die for others and I don't want that from Jax...

'I love you. I whisper.

'I love you fucking more, don't forget -

He stops, pausing as he slowly moves back, breaking our kiss.

"What is it?" I ask quietly.

"I heard something." He says, getting up and grabbing his pants, pulling them on.

I hear a giggle from Shane and I smile.

"It's Azura..." I say, 'Azura?'

'Damn, are you awake already?' she asks, disappointed. 'But damn, I smelt sex! And the clothes in the kitchen...

'We haven't slept yet...' I admit, blushing at that.

Jax pulls open the door just as we see Azura holding Shane about to walk past our door, looking like she's been caught red-handed.

A smirk crosses her face as she peeks into the room and looks at me.

"I see you two had a lot of fun."

"Hello to you too Azura," Jax says, reaching over and ruffling+ 15 BONUS

Shane's hair.

"Damn. you look a mess.." she says to me, and I know I have marks all over my neck and shoulders, "Damn Jax, you're a beast." "Stop being nosy and take care of our champ, Goodbye."

She pulls a face as he steps back into the room and shuts the door in her face. I hear her snicker.

"Come on Shane, let them carry on making you some siblings." Siblings.....

I'm not on protection... and we fucked countless times...

Jax walks over to me, his gaze dipping to me holding the blanket to my chest.

"You ok?" he asks.

"Yes... perfectly fine." I say as he lies down beside me and pulls me into his arms...

I really am. Gosh, who would have thought I'd be this lucky to have a man like Jax in my life.

A FEW WEEKS LATER...

JAX.

"Corrado, careful!" Azura's voice rings in the air as he runs dangerously close to the barbeque grill.

We're in the back garden of our house. Today is my birthday, and I had no choice but to agree to have the boys and their families over.

"I'm careful, Mom!" he calls back as Shane and Phoenix run after him as he blows bubbles from the bubble wand for them.

Kids really do get happy with anything.

Ai, Tin's little one, is sitting there clapping in excitement too.

My eyes wander over to Kareena; she looks gorgeous in black fitted pants and a cropped top. Her hair is open, and she's currently filling the mocktail dispenser.

Her hair keeps falling in her face thanks to the wind, and she keeps shaking it back. She adds the mint leaves and lemon slices. I walk over to her, stepping up behind her. I snake my arm around her waist, and brush her hair back, holding it out of the way. She looks up at me.

"Thanks." She says, her voice sounding fucking sexy.

"You can thank me later," I reply huskily, kissing her neck. She smiles, her heart pounding as she dumps the ice into it.

"Oh, how so?" she asks innocently.

"You fucking know how so."

"Get a room!" Ace remarks loudly.

"We will. You don't need to tell us!" I shout back, running my hand down her stomach.

Life's been way fucking better than good. Kareena is that mate that any man would be grateful to have in his life. She's strong in every fucking way, confident, loving and so damn fun. We still have our little disagreements, but most of those are when I'm trying to rile her up and really just want to fuck her hard. She's wild when she's angry, and it's fun to fight her a little.

I used to be around here often, entering the house and staying over often enough, but now, she's always there waiting for me. It feels great to fall asleep to her gorgeous face every night, to wake up to her and Shane. I've moved in properly now, and it's great. He's another blessing. Now that I'm always here, he looks forward to my return and cries when I leave. Damn, life is perfect. I finally get it... I finally get what it means to have a family.

"Did we need to invite them all?" I whisper to her as she screws the lid of the dispensers back on.

She chuckles, turning and locking her arms around my neck.

'Yes, because it's your birthday. She reminds me pointedly.

'Yeah, and I can think of several ways to celebrate without them... I growl back, caressing her stomach.

She smiles with amusement. "And we will... just not until dark!" she tugs free, smirking

"If you're done staring at your woman, mind taking the meat to the table?" Leo says.

I smirk as I go over to them and pick up the platter.

"It's my day. Shouldn't you be serving me?"

"I'm fucking at the grill, ain't I?" Leo glares pointedly.

"Good Alpha Weo." I taunt, making the rest snicker.

That one never gets old.

"Bastard."

"Thanks," I say.

Dan, Jin, and Mishiko are at the table already, and Azura and Sera bring the kids back.

The table is ready, and I glance over at the dessert table, which holds a cake and other desserts. There is a balloon arch over it, and the theme is silver and black.

I sit down, realising Kareena is missing:

Where has she disappeared to?

"Sit down, lover boy. She's coming," Azura says with a smirk as she places Phoenix in her highchair.

Moments later, Kareena steps out of the house, and she's holding a box.

"Ok, before we begin eating, I want to give Jax my gift," she says, glancing at the other three women. Azura smiles slyly and I wonder what this box holds.

"What are we missing?" Li Sheng asks as the women exchange looks.

They're in on it...

"No clue..." Ace replies, glancing at Sera pointedly, who simply shrugs.

"Can't say." She responds.

"I'm curious," Dan says with a smile.

"Here, open it," Kareena says, passing me the white box.

"This isn't a prank, right?" I ask, glancing up at Kareena, who stands beside me, her hands on my shoulders.

"Would I prank you?"

Maybe?

I open it, and inside it, there's a card on top. I pick it up, raising an eyebrow as I flip it open.

"You've always been there for me and Shane Jr but now, you need to be there for one more.

Did she get me a dog? I had told her last week I was considering getting a German Shepherd, but I didn't think she'd do that.

I smirk up at her, placing the card aside, taking out the box inside and removing the lid, opening the tissue paper, expecting a collar or something, but instead, there's an acrylic block.

The words 'Our Family' are written at the top and beneath it is a picture of me, her and Shane and right beneath it is a picture of a sonogram.

My eyes dart to the date at the bottom, showing the image was taken two days ago...

My heart thunders as I stare at the small bean.

She's pregnant... with my pup... I look up at her sharply and she smiles down at me.

"You're going to be a dad again," she whispers, rubbing my head tenderly.

A few of the others whistle, clearly shocked as they exchange words, but all I can think about is the woman in front of me and the news she has given me.

"You're really pregnant?" I ask, placing my hand on her stomach.

"I really am," she responds softly. I close my eyes kissing her stomach.

This feeling is...

"I didn't think I could be happier.." I whisper through the bond, brushing my hand down het stomach.

Her heart skips a beat, and I kiss her stomach again before tugging her into my lap, hugging her tightly and burying my nose into her neck.

"Thank you, I murmur, looking into her gorgeous eyes.

"To Jax and Kareena. Congratulations." Leo's voice comes as they all raise their glasses, clinking them before they drink to us.

I grip the side of Kareena's neck and face as she smiles at me, her cheeks flushed and I tug her close, kissing her with all I have...
