Let Me Go, My Ex-husband -
Chapter 5
Finished changing, Lindsay walked out of the fitting room and looked at the fitting room on her left again, but the door was already closed. "It fits you well."
The shop assistant was discerning, and could basically choose the right clothes for the person by the look of the person. Lindsay wore a light blue dress, which set off her white skin, and the lacing around her waist outlined her slim waist. She was a little too skinny, but her face has grown quite delicate.
Gavin felt it was appropriate, so he went to pay for it. Only then did he notice that the dress cost more than 30,000, but when he thought she was meeting the Jones family, he gritted his teeth and paid, and his voice was icy, "Let's go."
Lindsay had long experienced his ruthlessness, but the coldness at the moment still made her heart ache dully.
She followed him into the car with her head down.
The car soon pulled up in front of the door of the Forrest's villa.
The driver opened the car door for Gavin, and he got off the car, followed by Lindsay.
Standing in front of the villa, she was in a trance for a few seconds. When she and her mother were living a life worse than death because of her younger brother's illness, her father and the other woman were happily living in this grand villa and enjoying themselves.
She couldn't help but clench her hands.
"What are you standing there for?" Gavin didn't feel anyone following him and looked back to see her standing in the doorway in a daze.
Lindsay hurried to keep up. Hearing from the house maid that the Joneses had not yet arrived, Gavin told her to wait in the living room.
In the living room by the floor-to-ceiling window stood a piano, SEIDL & SOHN, made in Germany, very expensive, which her mother had bought for her on her fifth birthday.
She loved it at a very young age and started learning the piano when she was four and a half, since she was sent away, she has never touched it again.
She couldn't help but put her hand on it, feeling familiar and excited.
She placed her index finger on a key and pressed it gently, and with a dangling sound, a melodious and clear sound came out. As she hadn't played for a long time, her fingers were much stiffer. "It's mine! Who allowed you to touch it?!" A clear voice with an angry tone rang out behind her.
Hers?
Lindsay turned around and saw Yvonne Forrest standing angrily behind her. She remembered that
Yvonne was a year younger than t
herself, which meant she was seventeen years old this year She had inherited the merits of Silvia Sanders and was good-looking.
But right now, she looked a few hideous baring her teeth and glaring.
"Yours?"
They destroyed mom's marriage and used that money, now even the gifts that mom has given me became hers?
She slowly clenched her fists and told herself over and over in her heart not to be impulsive and not to get mad, because now she was not able to take back what belonged to her yet. She had to put up with it!
She was not the little girl who was sent away by her father eight years ago and would only cry, now she was grown up!
"You are...Lindsay?!" Yvonne realized that today was the day when the Joneses would come and dad had taken the mother and daughter back to the country.
Yvonne still remembered that when
Gavin sent Lindsay and her mother out of the country, Lindsay was on her knees holding Gavin's leg, begging him not to send her away with such a pitiful look.
"Are you particularly happy that Daddy got you back?" Yvonne folded her arms over her chest and looked at her with contempt, "Don't get too proud of yourself, getting you back was just to marry you into the Jones family, and they say that man..."
At this point, Yvonne covered her lips and sneered.
She couldn't help but gloat when she thought that Lindsay was marrying a man with sexual dysfunction who was even unable to walk.
Marriage is a lifetime event. If you marry a man like that, won't your life be ruined?
Lindsay frowned.
At that moment, the maid came over, "The Joneses are here."
Gavin personally welcomed them in.
