Light My Fire -
: Chapter 29
Brooke is still sleeping when I slide out of Jackson’s bed the next morning. I try to be stealthy, but then I realize Jackson isn’t here, so his leaving obviously didn’t disturb her. Even as I stand, I watch her carefully for any sign of movement, but she’s still in a deep sleep, her hair splayed out across the crisp white pillowcase, her hands tucked under her cheek in a prayer position, her delicate lips slightly parted.
Her breathing is steady, even.
The sheet has slipped down, exposing her creamy shoulder and the side of her breast. I tug the sheet up to cover her, aware that it’s chilly in the bedroom. Jackson keeps his heat down low, which is fine for him, but I worry she’ll get cold.
Brooke doesn’t stir at all. She’s absolutely worn out.
That makes me grin and shake my head.
Damn.
Brooke was incredible last night. So sexy. So obedient. So willing.
She came apart for us over and over, fully embracing all her needs and wants. She gave, she took, she loved all of it and us so damn well I know I will never forget a single detail of her on this night for the rest of my life.
I’ve never experienced anything like what the four of us shared.
Sharing a woman with two other guys was never in my plans. It wasn’t even on my radar until Brooke.
But given the choice between no Brooke or sharing Brooke, it was a no brainer. I can’t quit her. There was no way to walk away. The two weeks of no contact nearly killed me.
Now, though, it goes beyond just giving into what Brooke wanted.
I enjoyed it.
Seeing her be fucked by my two best friends was hot as hell.
And feeling her tight cunt clamped onto my cock while she gripped Luke like she needed him to tether her to the earth or she’d fly away, was hands down the best sex of my entire life.
Every night with Brooke is going to be the best sex of my life.
I can guarantee that.
Grabbing my jeans off of the floor, I step into them and then rub my hand over my hair. It feels like I have bedhead.
Pulling the door softly closed behind me, but leaving it open just a crack so a click doesn’t wake Brooke, I go into Jackson’s kitchen. He’s not there, but Luke is, sipping his coffee and looking about as relaxed as I’ve ever seen him.
After I took Brooke into the shower, Jackson cuddled her on the couch until she fell asleep, then Luke carried her to bed. Then he returned to the couch to sleep, which didn’t exactly surprise me. He likes his space. Physical and emotional.
I didn’t give Jackson the option of claiming the bed with Brooke solo. I told him straight out we could each take a side with her in the middle. But Jackson being Jackson, he was fine with it.
“Hey,” I say to Luke. “Where’s Jackson?”
I’m not a huge coffee drinker, so I just grab a glass out of the cabinet and fill it with water from the refrigerator door.
“He walked next door to the coffee shop to get some egg sandwiches. Neither of us felt like cooking this morning. He’s been up for a while. He already took Henley for a walk.”
“How was the couch?” I ask him, after taking a big swallow of my water. I’m dehydrated.
“The couch sucks but I was in a good mood, so I got over it.”
“You look like you’re still in a good mood.”
“I am. How about you?” Luke studies me. “You okay?”
I nod. “I’m good. I didn’t expect to enjoy last night as much as I did. Seeing Brooke—
“Seeing Brooke what?” a sleepy voice asks.
We turn and see our girl shuffling out of the bedroom, shoving her hair back off of her face.
She’s completely naked, her nipples tight pink peaks on her breasts, her arms covered in goosebumps. I drag my gaze over her, wanting to take in every inch of her gorgeous body, from her sleep heavy eyes to her narrow waist, to the soft sweetness of her pussy, and her long legs.
“Seeing you come like a fucking champ,” I tell her. I’m already striding toward her. “Did I wake you when I got up, gorgeous? I’m sorry.” I pull her in for a soft, tender hug, then I wrap my arms around her. “Good morning.”
Immediately, I squeeze her closer, wanting to feel her warm skin and sweet curves.
She sighs and cuddles into my chest. “No, you didn’t wake me up. This is when I normally have to get up for school.”
I kiss the top of her head, enjoying the press of her bare chest against mine.
She tilts her face up for a kiss, and I’m happy to give her one, brushing my lips lightly over hers.
She wriggles away. “I need coffee.”
She eases past me, and I watch the sway of her hips and her tight little ass, hair tousled and heavy down her back. It’s a fucking beautiful sight to see first thing in the morning.
Luke blocks her path to the coffee pot. “Go put some clothes on,” he tells her shortly. “You’re driving your men crazy and we can’t fuck you again this morning. You need time to recover.”
“But—
“Now.” He takes her by the elbow, turns her back to the bedroom, lightly swats her on the ass, and gives her a gentle push. “Go.”
My jaw drops. I’m about to ask him what the actual fuck, when to my complete shock, Brooke does as she’s told.
She even glances over her shoulder and gives Luke a look shot through with lust, even as she murmurs, “We’re going to have to talk about this later. The bossy thing.”
Luke just smirks. “Get dressed, Angel.”
She disappears into the bedroom and I’m overwhelmed with a variety of conflicting emotions I don’t understand. I’m outraged that Luke thinks it’s appropriate to talk to her like that. I’m jealous that Brooke clearly likes it, even the light spanking. And I’m also very, very turned on. My dick is currently throbbing.
“Don’t look at me like that.” Luke shakes his head at me. “You agreed to this.”
“I know I did. I just think you could be a little less…” Luke. He could be a little less Luke.
“No. There’s a reason she likes all three of us and it’s not because we’re the same guy three times over.” Luke takes a sip of his coffee. “She’s attracted to different things about each of us. Just remember that.”
I nod, not trusting myself to speak. I know he’s right.
Seeing Brooke happy is fucking everything.
But, damn. I don’t know. It’s still got me twisted up inside.
Jackson comes into the condo, laden down by brown bakery bags. “Breakfast is served, boys. Where’s Brooke, still sleeping?”
“She’s getting dressed,” Luke tells him.
As Jackson is pulling sandwiches out of the bags, Brooke comes into the room. She’s clearly rooted around in Jackson’s dresser because she’s wearing a baggy Chicago Bears T-shirt and a pair of loose basketball shorts that she’s rolled down the waistband on. Her cheeks are damp, like she splashed water on them, and she looks more alert than a few minutes ago.
Jackson lets out a growl of approval. “You look so damn hot in my clothes, baby girl.” He strides over to her and scoops her up in a big hug.
Brooke laughs softly. “I didn’t want to put my jeans on so early in the morning. I hope you don’t mind I went digging in your drawers.”
Jackson waggles his eyebrows. “You can rummage through my drawers any time.” He gives her a tender kiss. “How did you sleep?”
“Fantastic.” She reaches up and kisses him again. “You?”
It’s really weird that I’m watching the girl I’ve fallen in love with easily and happily kissing my best friend. The sex was one thing, but this is affectionate, caring. It’s definitely going to take some getting used to.
“Never better. I got some breakfast sandwiches if you’re hungry. I know you said you don’t usually eat breakfast, but you burned a lot of calories last night.” He gives her a grin.
Brooke blushes. “I’ll just have coffee, but thank you, Jackson.”
There it is again—I’m torn between pleasure at seeing her happy and a little bit of jealousy that it’s not directed at me. I really need to get a fucking grip on this or I’m going to mess this whole thing up.
That’s the last thing in the world I want because I cannot imagine my life without Brooke now.
“How is this going to work?” I blurt out. “Dating Brooke?”
I need clarity on who is doing what and when so I can work it all out in my head and get right with it.
The three of them look at me, all clearly startled.
“Well,” Brooke says, moistening her bottom lip with her tongue. “I’d like to spend time with you all, getting to know you. And I’d like to repeat last night.”
That makes my dick hard, but I refuse to be distracted. That’s too vague for me.
“Sounds great to me,” Jackson says.
Luke nods.
“But how specifically?” I insist. “I want solo time with you,” I tell Brooke. “Outside of the bedroom.”
I’d like solo time with her in the bedroom too but I sense I would get resistance on that right now. Brooke really enjoyed herself the night before.
As we all did.
Brooke comes over to me and smiles. When she touches my cheek with the palm of her hand, stroking down my beard stubble, I feel like a damn cat turning toward the sun. I rub against her. I can’t help myself.
“I would love to date you and spend some solo time with you, Wyatt.”
It makes me feel absolutely amazing.
It only slightly dampens my mood when she turns to the guys. “And you and you.”
“I think we should establish a no sex rule,” Luke says. “On solo dates.”
Brooke nods. “I like that idea.”
“What?” I demand. “Why?”
“Because it’s about establishing an emotional connection with all of you.” Brooke’s expression is earnest. “Obviously the physical stuff works. I want to get to know you other than that.”
Luke gives a cough and then clears his throat.
I realize immediately his plan backfired on him. He wants a no sex rule because he doesn’t want to have to break down all his walls with Brooke.
I have no walls and I want to be able to touch Brooke whenever I can.
“I want whatever you want,” Jackson says to her.
It mildly annoys me. Can’t he ever have an actual opinion?
Or maybe I just want someone to back me up on this.
Sure, watching Brooke come undone for all three of us was incredible, but I want the opportunity to eat her pussy without an audience every once in a while.
Going over the food Jackson has brought, I pick up a flaky croissant and bite it hard so I don’t say something that will get me in trouble.
Jackson shoots me a look of censure. “That was mine.”
“Sorry,” I say, taking another bite. “Who gets the first date with Brooke? Because I want it.”
“I get the first date,” Luke says.
“Hey, not fair,” Jackson says. “Why not me?”
Instead of being aggravated with us, Brooke beams and takes the mug of coffee Jackson has poured for her. “I love how wanted you all make me feel. We can just play it by ear, according to your schedules.”
“No way. Luke and I work the same shifts, and Jackson doesn’t have a job.”
“I do so have a job.” Jackson gestures to Henley and the puppies, who are cuddled up together in a giant dog bed in the corner of the kitchen. “I have a fur family to take care of.”
“Forget it. You can be more flexible than we can.”
The smile falls off of Brooke’s face. “I don’t want this to be an issue,” she says, softly. “Between all of you.”
I instantly feel terrible. “No, no, it’s not like that. It’s not an issue. I just think a schedule is important.”
“Let’s just have a little competition,” Jackson says. “To work out the rotation.”
“You want to compete to see me first?” Brooke asks. She sounds astonished, but also intrigued.
I’m competitive by nature anyway but I’ll wrestle a fucking bear for the right to see Brooke first. “Works for me.”
“Come on,” Luke says, rolling his eyes. “Let’s just go from oldest to youngest.”
As if Jackson and I are dumb enough to go for that.
“You scared you’ll lose?” Jackson says, egging him on.
“Hell, no.” Luke sets down his coffee mug. “Bring it on. What are we doing? Arm wrestling?”
“Let’s not get violent,” Brooke says, sounding a little alarmed.
“Arm wrestling is not violent,” Luke assures her. “Especially not the way these two do it.”
I finish my croissant and dust off my hands. “Let’s go.”
“Just relax,” Jackson says. “I have a better idea.” He smiles at Brooke. “No violence.”
“I’m listening,” she says.
“We line up and whoever Henley goes to wins.”
“No way. You’ve been taking care of her for two weeks. She’ll pick you.”
Jackson grins. “Why do you think I suggested it?”
“I agree with Wyatt,” Luke says. “I call bullshit.”
“Well, we can’t do the puppies. Their eyes are barely open at this point. They just wiggle and crawl.”
“So put the puppies on the floor mat and see which one gets to the end first. If the puppy you named gets there first, you win,” Luke says.
“Or we could arm wrestle.” I turn to Brooke. “What do you think?”
“What do I think? I think it’s sexy that I have three incredibly hot men who want to spend time with me.” Her words are flirty, her mouth turned up in a sexy smile.
God, this woman.
“But the puppies are sleeping,” she says. “Let’s leave them to it. Arm wrestling opens the door for allegations of cheating. I have a competitive brother, remember? How about we keep it simple and I pick a number between one and twenty?”
Simple but effective. I’d prefer to kick their asses in a physical showdown, but I’ve protested enough.
“Great idea.”
The other guys nod.
“Okay, I have a number.”
“One,” I say instantly, because it feels right.
“Seventeen,” Jackson says.
“Ten.”
Brooke’s face gives it away the second Luke speaks. Her face lights up. “Luke, you guessed it exactly! How did you know?”
I pick my coffee back up and take a sip to hide my irritated expression. If Brooke’s number was ten, that means I came in last.
Luke smiles at her. “Guess I’m just a lucky man.”
She beams at him. “So Luke first, then Jackson, then Wyatt. Are we all good with that?”
No.
But it was fair, and this is what Brooke wants.
“Sounds good to me,” Jackson says.
“I can’t complain.” Luke smirks at me.
This is going to make for a hellishly long week. Both at home and at work.
“I’m good,” I lie. “Remember, no sex. Your rule, Moody.”
His smirk slips.
I instantly feel better.
Brooke sighs happily. “This is perfect. Thank you.”
I think complicated is a better description.
But at least going third means I have the advantage of knowing where they took Brooke on their date and I can do one better.
