Rage could smell them, the pungent smell of the Turned. There was no mistaking it for anything else.

Rage looked at his brother, locking eyes with him before the both stalked to the door.

Fury flung the door open and they were hit will a wall of smell. The sickly and decaying smell, as if they were all on their death bed, flooded their noses.

“You were hunting Turned?” He asked, widening his eyes at his brother. He was shocked, no one hunted them but him.

They were more vicious than Rogues and were rare. Human’s rarely survive an attempt to be turned, their bodies not strong enough to fight the change in their DNA and most died during the transition.

There was a reason human’s weren’t turned anymore, and the snarling beast flocking the parking lot were that reason.

Even years after turning, their body fights against itself, causing the Turned to weaken. Their skinny bodies held no meat, no fat, only skin hanging off of their bones. They smelled sick and dying, they looked it, and they were.

It’s why most werewolves now are born and why most are fit and very healthy. Generations of nature weeding out the weak.

A few doors opened and quickly slammed shut as people tried to see what all the noise was. Only one man, four doors down, stepped out, his tired face looks at the group before running his had through his hair with a sigh.

“They with you?” His deep voice asked as his blue eyes saw the brothers.

“Why the hell would they be with us?” Fury cursed at the man, offended that he was grouped with a bunch of sickly Turned.

The man only shrugged, looking out at the dozen wolves.

“They aren’t with me,” they watch the man pad bear foot to them, his low hanging shorts the only thing covering his body.

“Are they here for you?” He asked, his blue-gray eyes looking sternly at them. He was giving off an aura like their father would, before smacking them in the head and repramending them.

“I was hunting them...” Fury growled, looking at the wolves. None of them were moving as they snarled, all of their eyes focused on the three men.

The older man nodded his head before looking them over, his eyes holding Fury’s before turning to look at Rage’s.

“You Wulf’s?” He asked, the brothers nodded and the man smirked, “thought so, I’d recognize those eyes anywhere,”

One of the wolves howled, drawing their attention, clearly getting impatient. The others followed before they began to slink forward, heads down as they bared their teeth.

“Want some help? Been a while since I fought,” I wicked smile crossed his face as he watched them grow closer.

The brothers looked at each other and shrugged.

“Doesn’t bother us none,” Rage responded and the man smiled, and dropped his shorts, taking no time before shifting and running into the middle of the lot, taking down the first one he came across. The wolf’s neck snapped quickly and two more were on him in a second.

The brother’s looked at each other before stripping down and shifting. Their wolves nearly mirror images of each other. All the brother’s fur waspitch black, not a single color or shade graced their coats.

They each took down wolves, one after another, Rage ripped the throat out of the first one he reached. The second had his guts spilled as he managed to tackle him, resulting in Rage’s back claws to slice through the tender skin of his stomach.

Two busted spines and another throat-less body later, three wolves were left standing. Each was covered in blood, dripping from their fur.

The once gray wolf turned to the two black ones and his lips pulled into what was almost a smile. He nodded at them and they watched as he limped away, claw marks covering his rump.

The brothers headed for the room, both feeling relaxed as they bumped shoulders and left the lot.

Slipping into the room Fury shifted and headed right for the bathroom, while Rage sat and glanced around the room, trying to supress the urge to shake the blood from his fur.

Somehow Willow had fallen asleep, curled up at the end of the bed, her body so close to the edge he thought she would slip at any moment.

When Fury exited the bathroom Rage shifted and showered quickly.

“What the fuxk?” Fury cursed as Rage wrapped the towel around his waist. Curiously he stepped out to replace his brother, face to face with Willow, her eyes glazed as she stared at him.

He cursed as he realized what happened.

“You tried to wake her up?” It wasn’t really a question as he pulled her hand, leading her back to the bed and tucking her in.

Her eyes closed and she sighed, snuggling into the pillow, pulling the blanket up to her nose.

“What the hell was that?” Fury whisper-yelled once Rage turned to him.

“She was sleep walking,” his brother looked at him wide-eyed as if the explanation couldn’t be that simple.

“That was fuxken creepy,” his eyes moved to her, sound asleep on the bed, “I was just trying to move her farther onto the bed, you know, so she wouldn’t fall off,” his eyes met Rage’s once more, “and she shot up and stood there and just stared, at nothing,”

“I know,” Rage nodded, taking a seat on the other bed across from her, “I’m pretty sure it’s a defense mechanism from years of abuse,”

Fury let out a heavy sigh as he sat at the foot of the bed, his back to his brother.

“How long?” he asked, his voice scratchy, clearly feeling sorry for the she-wolf.

“I’m not sure how old she was when her mother died, leaving her at the mercy of that piece of sh!t Alpha,”

“Do you know how bad?“Fury looked behind him at Rage, his fists were clenched around each other, his claws drawing blood from the punctures they made in his skin. He didn’t seem to notice though, his eyes were closed, his nostrils flaring with every heavy breath he took.

“Bad enough for her to be scared, to run from them,” he opened his eyes and stepped over to her. He pulled the blanket back, pausing at her protest before lifting his shirt off of her side, bearing her skin to their view, “bad enough to scar,”

They both stood beside the bed, staring at her scared ribs and stomach. It was hard to scar a wolf like that, they healed fast and the scares left behind were usually small and light, like a scratch. But these were pink and white, they wrapped around her body, covering her stomach and back, some leading under fabric to areas still covered from them.

“Damn brother,” Fury looked to his brother, his fist clenched around the hem of the shirt, looking at each mark that laid across her skin, molding to her bones.

“I am going to kill them,” he ground out through his clenched teeth, the words sounded like a whisper compared to the growl coming from deep in his chest.

“Are you going to come home after?” there it was, the question he was dreading. He only shook his head, “even if you have someone waiting for you?”

“Fury, you know I can’t,“his brother huffed shaking his head.

“You can, you just don’t want to,” Rage only bared his teeth in anger, though he was only a bit annoyed by his brother, as he leaned forward, and tucked the she-wolf back under the blanket.

“I...”

“She is going to be waiting for you, you do realize that, right?” the brothers locked eyes. Rage felt guilty leaving Willow with his brother’s. He knew she wanted be stay with him, but he just couldn’t allow that. The only way for her to be safe was do be in a pack, and he couldn’t be in a pack, in his brother’s pack.

“I’ll let you know if I change my mind,” Rage grumbled, pulling his eyes from his brother and heading for his bag. Fury only stared at the girl as he slipped into a pair of sweats and padded barefoot to the door.

“Rage...” he called after him, drawing his attention from the open door back to his brother, “I will make sure she stays safe,” Rage didn’t say a word as he turned from the room and left, leaving the she-wolf in the hands of his brother.
