Love and Chaos Series
The Alpha King’s Ugly Bride Chapter 75

His eyes lifted and locked on hers. His heartbeat increased and his body became alert at her closeness. He almost leaned in and kissed her lips, but he held himself back and glance down. "I don't think I'm a great king. I'm hardly a good one and many people have seen my dark side."

"Many people might have seen your dark side, but I've seen the good side." she leaned into him, tiptoeing so that her lips could meet his.

He kissed back immediately, his response desperate, and he pulled her closer to himself. This felt right, she felt right, more than anything else. Her soft lips tasted so sweet he could kiss her all day. He pulled back, panting after about a minute.

"We shouldn't," he cleared his throat, "we are out in the open."

"My king is conservative." She teased.

He chuckled and nod his head, "I don't think you'd like to fuck me in the dirt while the horses watch." he told her, glancing at the horses still drinking from the stream.

Her hand trailed over his face, down his partly exposed neck. He shivered into her touch, and this showed he wanted her too. He was only concerned about their surroundings.

Her hand glides down the plane of his stomach and down to the point of his trousers and a little lower to cup him through his trousers. He moaned out but didn't stop her. He always loved when she took matters into her hands.

She tilted her face to stare at him, her desire obvious in those seductive amber eyes. They weakened him from the inside out. He dragged a long inhale and pressed his lips together.

"You're the birthday boy, you get to decide." She teased with a seductive smile.

With the way her hands palmed his hidden cock, it was obvious what decision she wanted him to make.

He pulled her closer and sealed their lips again, his hand lowering to cup her b**t cheeked and hoist her up. She lifted and wrapped her legs around him while they kissed as if running out of time.

He lowered her onto the grass-covered ground and pushed his knee up between her legs. She ground against him, moaning aloud when his lips touch her neck. She shuddered, hoisting her hips and grinding harder in friction.

He shrugged off his black jacket and undid the ropes of his trousers, and pushed it down while she pulled her gown up and over her thigh to expose herself to him.

"I want you to ride me," he growled into the kiss, wrapping his hands around her waist. He flipped them around so now she sat on him, rubbing herself on his hard and throbbing member.

She did as he told her. She pinned him down and rode him with all her might. It was savage, raw, and intense. His hands held onto her waist as a guide and he thrust into her, meeting her halfway and making the act even more powerful. Their intimacy was on another level and they weren't fucking for the sake of fucking. They were owning each other's mind, body and soul.

One last thrust and he came, shuddering and becoming sensitive under her. She ground her hips against his sensitive cock before pulling from on top of him to lie on her side. His eyes fluttered, and she stared at him with a smiling face.

He turned around to her. This made his hair fall into his face. "Thank you," he exclaimed, still trying to catch his breath.

Her hands lifted to move the hair behind his ears. "You're welcome, my king. It's my duty as a good queen to keep you happy."

He rolled his eyes, still grateful to her. They stayed on the ground in each other's arms, staring up at the cloud in silence and enjoying each other's company.

Xavier hated to be the breaker of a good thing, but he knew they had to leave before the evening came. "We should get going," he told her, pulling up and adjusting his clothes. Mia rose to her feet as well and adjusted her dress.

He helped take off the few dry leaves caught in her hair and she did the same for him, muttering. "This was amazing! It's the best birthday surprise I've ever had."

"I'm glad you're happy."

"I'm happy with you, always." His eyes dimmed as he smiled widely at her.

Her hand stroked his face, returning his gaze, "and I'm glad to hear that."

They cleaned themselves up, making sure nothing differed from the way they came.

They rode back to the stables and handed the horses back to the attendants, who took them and led them away.

Madam Cameron came over to them. "Thank you, my king, my queen. For visiting. It means so much to us." she spoke up with a grateful tone.

"You should thank my wife. This was all her idea."

Her grey eyes travelled to Mia, and she thanked her, too.

Their carriage arrived while they said their farewells, and they entered and took their leave.

"You know, we could just race through the woods and we'll get to the palace quicker and quieter," Xavier spoke up after a while of riding in silence.

She nodded, agreeing to what he just said, "I know that, but then I wouldn't be able to get you this." She pulled out a small kottan basket from beside her and handed it over to him.

His eyes narrowed down at it in suspicion, despite accepting it from her. "What's in it?"

"Something I think you also like, but unlike horse riding, you have it back at the Palace."

"If I already have it, why did you get it?"

"Because I could," she stuck her tongue out at him, "and because you like it and I wanted to get you what you liked."

He pulled the basket cover open, and in it; he found three apples. A wide smile spread over his face at the sight. His hands gripped the basket tightly on each side while his heart pounded heavily in his chest.

"You got me apples!" he grinned, reaching into the basket and pulling one green apple out.

His eyes grew glassy and his lips quivered a little. He pressed his lips together and turned his gaze to stare outside, an attempt to hide his emotions. Why did she have to be so perfect for him?

"I know, the forbidden fruit, just like you like it." she teased.

He turned back and pulled closer towards her. His eyes flutter, as he reached for her and kissed her lips deeply, expressing the love he couldn't say aloud to her. He wanted her with him forever and he hadn't been surer of anything else.

"I love you." he breathed as he pulled away from the kiss. He didn't mean to blurt it out. It just happened. He didn't mean to do a lot of things like falling in love with her, making her his soulmate, or needing her. These things just happened, and they were beyond his control.

He heard her heart skip at his profession of love for her, but she stayed silent, her gaze low and not meeting his. Her silence wasn't what he wanted. It was, however, what he got.

He pulled back from her, after a while of uttering those words and getting nothing but a perplexed look from her.

"Perhaps I shouldn't have said it," he mumbled awkwardly, a little pained.

"What do you want me to say? We didn't include love in our agreement. So I didn't expect to hear it from you." she defensively stated.

"Why not? Am I too cold-hearted to fall in love in your opinion?" he was projecting his worse fear on her, but he couldn't help it. He had bared himself to her and got an indifferent response. His heart was breaking.

"I never said that," she protested.

"Then why do you look so perplexed that I said I love you?"

"Because we had different objectives and agendas before we entered this agreement. I didn't think you'd compromise that for love!"

He scoffed, burnt by her blunt response.

Why did it hurt so much?

Because once again, he has allowed his love to stop him from seeing the truth right before him.

Everything she had done from the very first day of the agreement had been to achieve her goal. Not really about him. He had read into things that weren't there and he had given himself into the hands of love, hoping that this time he would be loved back. He thought she felt something even if it was just a little, but as it turned out, she didn't.

It hurts.

It hurt more than any pain he endured.

It felt like his heart had been ripped out and each second he struggled just to breathe.

"Stop the carriage!" he yelled to the rider, and the carriage stopped in that second.

He got down, needing space and air. He needed to breathe and recollect himself. The longer he stayed close to her, the longer it would hurt. His eyes stung from holding the tears in. He didn't want her to see the pain he was in. He needed to put himself under control.

He placed his hands to his waist and glanced heavenward.

"Xavier!" Mia called out, getting down from the carriage as well.

She stepped towards him, but he backed away and held up a hand to stop her in her tracks.

"Please stay back, Mia. I need to think!"

"Xavier, can we do this after we get to the palace?"

"Four minutes. I need four fucking minutes." His breathing was getting shorter and his heart was beating unusually and he knew why.

She would leave him, too.

They had less than three months until the end of their agreement. A few more months until she'd leave him for the southern Kingdom where she'll have her freedom and enlightenment.

He wandered off the road with different thoughts clouding his mind. He knew she would have to leave him after all this ended, yet he couldn't stop himself from falling.

His hand raced to wipe at his teary eyes.

He didn't think he'd become this affected by her decision before, and now he was. He wouldn't survive without her. Her absence would drive him crazy, and Robb would have a good reason to dethrone him.

He didn't know how long he had stayed lost on the train of thought, but when he wandered back towards the carriage; what he saw made his heart drop.
