Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 1015 Extra Story 153 Of Aaron The End
A man pushed open the door and walked into the conference room. After nodding courteously to Aaron and the representative of D Country, the person walked towards the president and whispered in his ear. The president looked quite astonished at first, but then he
frowned. Soon after, he stood up and said to Aaron and the representative of D Country, "Excuse me for my absence."
Of course neither Aaron nor the representative would refuse his abrupt wish to leave, but both of them wondered as to the depth of such an emergency which had left such a shock on the president's face as he left. They got their answers very soon. All of a sudden, a majority of councilors had agreed to continue their cooperation with QY Island on import and export. Even the president had approved the initiation report with pleasure.
Needless to say, such a sharp turn of events had not been taken lightly by the representative of D Country. However, once the decision had been finalized, there was very little he could do to turn the tide to his favor.
Swirling a glass of wine in his hand, Aaron looked at Brian's well-defined face, which always seemed to display apathy except when facing Molly. Perhaps not another living soul, apart from Molly, had seen a different look on his face. His impassive expression, however, did not make him invisible to his peers, instead, it drew the attention of those around him.
"Thank you!" Aaron cordially expressed his gratitude from his heart, knowing that the sudden urgency of the situation required Brian to drop his plans of going on a honeymoon with Molly for Aaron's sake.
"Don't mention it. All I did was lend you a hand,"
Brian responded plainly. Much as a principle, he didn't have the habit of stepping in anybody else's affairs, unless he had no choice. However, fortunately for Aaron, Brian had to answer to his wife, who chose to ignore her husband's principles for the sake of her friend. "The only person who is capable of making you give a hand to anybody else must be..." Aaron said while looking at Molly, who was choosing a sunhat, "Mrs. Molly Long."
Brian looked at Molly from a distance with pure affection, as she took out her purse to pay for the sunhat. Guessing from the sly smirk on her face, Brian believed that she must have been satisfied with the price she had bargained for. "As it happens, Miss Mo has become a close friend of the missus. When she asked for help, I had to come to your aid!" he said.
With a friendly smile at the corners of his mouth, Aaron watched Molly walk towards them with complacent smile on her face, and he said to Brian, "I owe you one."
"Hmm," Brian nodded his head in acknowledgement. As businessmen, both of them knew the benefits of having friends, and that such benefits had to be based on good will.
"Bri, do I look nice in this?" Molly asked, raising her eyebrows and pointing at the sunhat on her head.
"Yes of course!" Brian answered before even thinking.
However, Molly was quite unsatisfied with such a quick, perfunctory response. "What an insincere answer," she complained.
Brian shook his head in amusement and smiled at her comment. Beauty was in the eyes of the beholder. Molly always looked beautiful in his eyes regardless of what she was wearing. To him, she had been beautiful on the inside, as she had been on the outside, while everything else had only served to add to her charm.
"This is for Ximena," Molly said as she reached out to Aaron with a bag in her hand. "When Bri and I go to QY Island, I want to go surfing with her."
"Okay. I'm sure she'd like that," Aaron answered, "Allow me thank you on behalf of Ximena."
"There's no need to thank me..." Molly raised her eyebrows, "If you really want to thank me, you should invite Bri and I to QY Island as soon as possible." After pausing for a moment, she added, "I think we both know why I want to be invited..."
"Of course, I know," Aaron said, with a faint smile. "I also hope that it will happen as soon as possible."
Molly smiled with confidence and explained, "I came here with Bri because I wanted to talk to you personally. I noticed that Ximena's resolve was starting to waver and she was no longer determined to refuse a marriage. However, I'm afraid that if you take too long, her resolve will strengthen again. Therefore, Your Highness, come on and pick up the pace!"
"Since you're wishing for our happy ending as well, I must try my best," Aaron answered.
'You are not the only one wishing for it. I want it to happen just as much as you do!' he mused.
It was a quiet night in QY Island. The sky was black tranquility married to a poetry of stars. Ximena's breathing became even again. In truth, she hadn't slept well since Aaron had left. But at this moment, she was sleeping like a log in the familiar arms of the man she had missed for so long.
Aaron stood up without making a noise. After covering her in a woolen blanket, he gently carried her in his arms. He carefully tiptoed out of the garden house and went inside the main house.
As gently as he possibly could, he laid her on the soft bed. After changing her clothes with a night-gown, he turned off the lights, leaving only a dimly lit lamp in the corner of the room. With Ximena in his arms, he drifted off to sleep quietly. There was an undeniable peace in his heart that only she could bring to him.
When Ximena woke up the next morning, Aaron was no longer by her side. After he came back in a hurry yesterday, he had to leave some issues undetermined. Although he had left Ken behind for follow-up on his orders, Aaron had to personally pay enough attention to the import and export between the two countries.
Ximena was a bit disappointed to replace that Aaron had left. She stretched her hand to touch the other pillow, trying to feel his presence. Suddenly, memories of their passionate night in the garden house last night came to her mind. The memory filled her with happy thoughts and a satisfied smile slowly played at the corners of her mouth.
As unpredictable as life was, sometimes people would replace themselves trapped in a dead end for a long time. However, with the help of another directing the way, they would come to replace that as long as they carried on and took a few steps in faith, the path would always open up to help them get out of the dead end.
All of a sudden, the beeping tone of a voice mail to her cellphone came through. Without a conscious thought, Ximena turned her head and stretched her hand to reach for her phone on the bedside table.
"I have a meeting in the morning, and then I have to go to the Council Hall to meet with the political commissar of the island. In the noon, I will drop by your shop. Let's get lunch together. I haven't eaten a home-cooked meal by mom in many days."
"Mom? " Ximena's attention was totally focused on that one word. Baffled by what she had just heard, Ximena sat upright on the bed and shook her head to clear the sleepy fogginess in her head. Finding it hard to ignore her curiosity, she decided to replace out what Aaron meant by saying that..
After hesitating and mulling it over for a while, she thought the best way to get to the bottom of it was to ask Aaron directly, so she dialed his number. 00000☐☐☐☐☐☐
