Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 1020 Extra Story 1 Of Sweetness Between Bri And Mol Moved
Gazing at Molly with his deep-set eyes, Spark moved the bow gracefully across the violin. As a result, the friction between the bow and the strings created a harmonious melody that conjured up feelings of a lazy summer afternoon under the shade of a tree with a light breeze and the sound of a chirping cicada. The first time that he had met Molly was when he had been playing the violin in an underground passage with only a group of ants as an audience. At that time, he had been viewed as a fool by every passer-by except for her. Spark stared at Molly with his flaming eyes without concealing his focus on her at all, as if they were the only two people in the whole restaurant, while the waiters, other diners and Brian were not present at all.
She was a stranger to him at the time, but he still grabbed her by the hand and dragged her along with him to escape from Manny's chase. Together they hid in a park by the roadside. Up until then, he had been experiencing a mental block in composition for a more extended period. However, after gazing upon her face that was radiating in the glow of the sunlight, he was suddenly greatly inspired.
As a result, he had composed "The Summer Breeze". The beautiful piece had made quite a stir. He had said that he created the melody for her and that he would only play it for her.
Slowly, Spark closed his eyes. With gentle and peaceful music playing, he allowed himself to sink deeply into his memories from the past several years. He remembered the Molly who had been weeping at the entrance of the subway in London, the Molly who had worked as his assistant with self-confidence, and the Molly who had been willing to give up everything for the sake of Mark. When his left hand became disabled, he told himself that he wouldn't care about anything as long as she was happy. However, how could he give up playing the violin so easily? The violin was his mother's favorite musical instrument and was a part of him for so many years.
He didn't want her to feel worried or have any feelings of guilt, but he suspected that she did just that, worried and felt guilty for him. Brian tried his best to restore the nerves in his hand, and he did that only for Molly's sake. Knowing that, how could Spark possibly refuse the treatment for his hand or continue to be low-spirited? He had to try his best to recover so that Molly could feel relieved.
He pushed the bow in his hand forward and then raised it slowly. After the beautiful sound of the piano played by a woman had ended, the whole restaurant fell into silence. It was as if everything had stopped moving at the same time.
Brian didn't look at Spark. He only twirled the goblet in his hand slightly with his slender fingers. Under the soft light inside the restaurant, the scarlet wine in the goblet looked surreal. His gaze fell on the intoxicating liquid.
Previously he had been afraid that Molly would be taken away from him by Spark, but now he wasn't worried about it at all. The reason wasn't due to Brian having confidence in himself, but because Molly had won his trust. When Molly recovered from the beautiful piece of music, Brian raised his eyes slowly to look at her with his deep eyes, from which a powerful love radiated. However, when he saw what Molly was doing, the expression of love from his eyes was mixed with a bit of envy.
He did trust Molly, but when he saw how she stared at Spark as if there were no one else in the whole restaurant but her and Spark, it was a different emotion.
"Ah-hem!" Brian cleared his throat to try and gain her attention and leaned against the backrest of the chair slowly. He glanced at Molly's profile that was oblivious to his scrutiny. While he narrowed his eyes slightly, he said slowly, "Mol, don't you think it might be inappropriate for you to gaze at another man like that while I'm here with you?"
However, it seemed that Molly didn't hear what he said either. She had been completely in awe by the miracle recovery of Spark's left hand. To rub salt into the wound, when Brian's words faded away to nothing, he watched with a slight frown as she stood up slowly as if in a hypnotic state. She sauntered towards Spark.
Molly stopped in front of Spark. She looked at his left hand, in which the bow of the violin was held. Then woodenly, she grasped his hand with hers and observed it bewildered. There was still an ugly trace of his injury. Even in the soft dim light in the restaurant, she was shocked by the sight of it. Staring at the prominent scar tissue was as if what had happened in that old factory building were in front of her eyes now.
With a bright smile that lit up the corners of his mouth, Spark said slowly, "The scar is ugly, but my left hand has regained its normal function." While he said that he moved his left hand around to prove what he was saying was true. He looked at Molly with raised eyebrows, which in turn she had her eyebrows raised, looking at him with an even broader smile on her face. "Little Molly," he said affectionately. "This scar could have been erased, but I chose to keep it. Do you know why?"
At that moment, Molly was still in a shocked mental state after seeing Spark playing the violin. She wasn't able to think straight, just yet. Thus hearing his question, all she could do was to shake her head by instinct. Her eyes became teary.
With a smile still on his face, Spark said in a more attractive voice, "My little fool..."
At hearing such an intimate salutation, Molly felt her nose ache. Spark gazed at her red and teary eyes and sighed. "Because only with this scar can I keep a small place in your heart. Do you understand?" As soon as he finished saying that, the smile at the corners of his mouth turned into a bitter one.
He knew that he probably shouldn't have said that, which might add a load on her mind. However, he couldn't help saying how he felt. Perhaps it was because he was selfish and greedy that he didn't want her to remove him entirely from her heart. If that happened, he would probably feel miserable.
Hearing Spark's explanation, Molly could no longer restrain the overwhelming emotions she felt in her heart. Tears had blurred her eyes. As soon as she heard Spark's words, heavy teardrops began to flow from her eyes. "Oh, Spark..." she cried, choking with sobs. All of a sudden, she engulfed him in an embrace and burst into tears.
She had felt so guilty and worried for him ever since he had been injured, which had been a load on her mind and deep pain in her heart for the past several years. Finally, at that moment, she felt relieved to see that he had fully recovered. Losing complete composure, Molly bawled like a baby releasing all of the bottled up emotions that she had held in her heart for all of those years. She had completely forgotten where she was and the scene that she was creating.
In the soft dim light, Brian's face had become overcast. He swirled the goblet feeling riled in his hand. In the dim light, the scarlet liquid looked treacherous, just like a reflection of the complicated feelings that he felt in his heart. He raised the glass to have a sip while lowering his eyes to conceal the discomfort and dissatisfaction written in his eyes. 00000
