One of them patted Edgar on the shoulder and supportively said, "Your failure was worth watching!"

Edgar nodded his head at his joke and laughed along with the rest of them. Deep down, Edgar attributed his defeat to the lack of modern training methods as the classic primary methods were only effective for basic development. But now he had seen the results of newer training techniques and he had picked up some new moves from his fight with Brian. He tried to memorize as many new moves as he could during the fight, but unfortunately that was his only chance because Brian would never agree to train him. As the best intelligence organization, XK Intelligence Agency trained some of the most talented mercenaries on the planet. Edgar and his team would benefit greatly from them if only he could have the opportunity to communicate with Brian.

In the following days, Daniel kept himself busy with two things: training and incessantly trying to convince Brian to train his team... Edgar also recognized trying to persuade Brian to help them was his main objective. As for this wedding, he figured he would leave it to the other orderlies of the senior military officers to handle it for him.

The question was that this mission was too difficult to accomplish even though Cathy gave him a hand at last.

"Captain... I am having trouble finishing this mission." Daniel had never given up on anything easily, ever since he had gained his confidence again. But this time he backed out just after three days. However, he felt as though it weren't entirely his fault. After all, he knew what kind of person Brian was. If he were able to convince Brian, he wouldn't be him, he would be Molly.

Unfortunately for him, even his sister didn't want to speak for him...

Edgar already knew that Brian would never agree, but still he kept hope... After all, XK Intelligence Agency's training skills were too attractive to pass on. And getting through to Brian was the only way he could hope to acquire new training methods for the development of his men.

Edgar and Daniel were interrupted by an orderly who was sent here to take care of the Brian and his family. Daniel turned to look at him and said, "Don't just stand there, come in."

The orderly stepped in, saluted the both of them and then reported, "Sir, Mr. Brian Long wants to meet you."

Daniel and Edgar exchanged curious glances at other and then asked, "Do you know what this is about?"

The orderly scratched his head, grinning like an innocent fool, "Mr. Long said that he was going to give Mr. Edgar another chance... If Mr. Edgar, were to win, Mr. Long would accept his request. If Mr. Edgar were to lose... He said-- said--" The orderly looked at Daniel timidly, swallowing the lump that had gathered in his throat and said, "He said he didn't want Mr. Daniel to bother him again."

"Come on..." Edgar held out his arms and said, "The result is set! That's not fair!"

Daniel's shoulders drooped, like a person drained of all hope. Everybody saw what happened at the competition with their own eyes... No one, including Edgar, would dispute the results. All the while, Brian's rapid finger movements over the laptop made clicking noises as he typed new instructions for the XK Intelligence Agency. He paused to look at Molly and said, "I never refused to him. I just can't help him right now." "Huh?" Puzzled, Molly waited, expecting to hear and explanation from him.

Brian, however, did not meet with Molly's expectations. Instead, he turned his face to the screen, squinting his eyes as if to read something important and then continued jabbing at the laptop with his finger, as though something was bothering him. Molly knew Brian so well, she could feel his temper rising from a mile away. Hoping to ease his anger, she asked, "What happened?"

"Nothing..." Brian answered calmly. He feigned serious thoughtfulness to avoid further conversation and carried on sending instructions.

Tony secretly peeked up at the instructions on the screen and sighed, "Having too many girls can be troublesome... Staying away from too many girls can also be troublesome..."

Brian logged out, folded the laptop screen and turned to Molly, "Dragon Island has established a good relationship with this place, but still, even though we are friendly, the Long Family won't do anything that has any hidden dangers to Dragon Island." "Why don't you just deny them directly?" Molly asked, wondering why Brian was getting so worked up over the matter.

Brian replied with a smile and said, "The cooperation between this place and Dragon Island is crucial for the development of both parties."

That was all Brian had the liberty to tell her. She would be a fool not to understand the underlying meaning in his words.

The military did not have enough funding to improve its training regimen.
