Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 1203 Extra Story 93 Of Charlie The Engagement

"Your Majesty, won't we be overdoing our apparel?" Evan asked Evelyn. "It's from Versace. It must be very expensive!" Seeing Ezra pull out a suit from seemingly nowhere, Evan glanced at the tag and cried out in surprise.

"Why would we overdo our outfits? There will be many journalists, and we'll be in the spotlight. Ezra can bear to be disgraced, but our Long Family can't. No matter how much money it costs, I'm willing to pay to look the part," Evelyn said, raising her eyebrows and glancing at Evan from the reflection of the mirror. She was dressed in an orange-red strapless gown and had a lollipop in her mouth, and the make-up artist was doing her hair.

"But... Will the media take it seriously if there aren't any senior Long Family members nor any of the Zhou's showing up?" Evan asked, putting on the suit. Fortunately, the hotel air-conditioning was on otherwise wearing a suit on such a hot day would be like living in hell. Evelyn didn't give it much thought, and she shrugged replying, "I'm not looking for any trouble. If my father knows that I'm messing around, I will be dead!"

Evan rolled his eyes and said, "Evelyn, have you forgotten that you've invited an army of journalists? Journalists spread news, and you're hoping that your father won't replace out about it?"

Evelyn suddenly turned her head to look at Evan.

"Do you really think that Addison and Charlie would let my father know about this?" she smirked. Evan had become silent. Evelyn was right. Even if she had turned T City upside down, her two brothers, who loved her so dearly, would never let the news spread. Also, The Flight Media and The Dream Media were the leading enterprises of the media industry in T City, both of which were under the Dragon Empire Group. This fact made it even easier for Evelyn's brothers to control the news. "Because of your brothers' protection, you've become so unreasonable and arrogant," said Evan.

Evelyn wore an innocent look on her face and fluttered her long eyelashes at him, asking, "Aren't you unreasonable and arrogant, too?" Evan ground his teeth and then smiled. "Yes, I am. But to me, you have the rights to be unreasonable. Your Majesty." Evelyn winked at him with a sweet smile and then turned back to the mirror. She looked at herself carefully in the mirror then waved at the make-up artist. "Okay, that's it. It's good enough."

"Yes, Miss Evelyn," replied the make-up artist.

Just as the make-up artist had finished her words, the door opened, and Bess walked in, dressed in a gown. Bess and Evan looked at each other and were overwhelmed with guilt. They were attendants of the engagement. They both felt guilty that they had helped Ezra trick Evelyn into the engagement.

Evan shrugged his shoulders, and Bess glared at him. She then walked to Evelyn and said, "All the journalists have arrived, including the people from The Flight Media and The Dream Media." It was odd that the senior members of the Long Family didn't show up to the engagement party. People might get suspicious if the media from the Dragon Empire Group didn't show up either.

"It's almost time. Let's go," Evelyn said, getting up and throwing the rest of the lollipop into the trash can. Although she wasn't as outstanding as the other members of the Long Family, Evelyn was tall and elegant. She would be glorious among the populace.

The "engagement" press conference was held at the Smile Hotel. It was already swarming with journalists waiting at the hall. Even the journalists from Rita's conference were also here. Rita and Allen weren't that popular in T City. In T City, the engagement banquet of the Lady of the Dragon Empire Group was the only headline news.

"Get engaged first and ask the parents later. What a scheme! Aren't you afraid that Mr. and Mrs. Long would get even with you afterward?" Shaun asked, looking at the crowd with a glass of wine in hand. There were thousands of people attending the "fake" engagement banquet. It was bustling even though the major characters hadn't shown up yet.

"It's better than not having the chance to get engaged," Ezra said, smiling happily. He had reasons to be happy. It wasn't a completely fake engagement banquet. Ezra indeed wanted to be with Evelyn. Even if he was trying to achieve his aim in a sly and dirty way. Everybody here had their own thoughts. Only Elsa and her roommates were still in the midst of bewilderment. She had been dragged to the hotel early in the morning to attend Evelyn and Ezra's engagement banquet. However, this was the first time that she had heard that they were going to get engaged!

"Elsa, is it true that the Longs' are acting purely on impulse? They just do whatever they want to do," Olivia whined. Olivia was suffering from a hangover and had a headache. However, when she saw the large crowds, she had become excited and sighed, "This is one of the privileges of being rich. They don't need time to prepare for a banquet. They can throw one whenever they want."

Ann looked around with envy and frustration. "The Dragon Empire Group is not only rich and powerful. Behind the Dragon Empire Group is the whole Dragon Island, a developed country with a population of over 100 million." Ann managed to conceal her annoyance and went on, "It is surprising that they are the direct descendant of the Long Family." Ann turned to look at Elsa and continued, "You're going to be the richest among us in the future, Elsa. Please don't forget about us when you are married into the Long Family." Upon hearing what Ann had said, Olivia immediately put on a flattering face and said to Elsa, "Elsa, let me be your servant, won't you? As long as I can stay in the glittering palace, I'm willing to clean your toilet!"

Elsa rolled her eyes and replied, "What are you talking about? When did I say I will marry into the Long Family? Where did you hear that?"

"Then why were you so touched yesterday?" Olivia asked, imitating the way that Elsa reacted when she heard Charlie's confession. "For your proposal, I would like to say yes.

How romantic it is!" Noticing Elsa's discomfort and embarrassment, Anna shook her head and voiced, "That's enough, you scamps!"

Ann and Olivia froze for a second. Then they reached out their hands towards Anna and began to tickle her while Elsa burst out laughing. Later all of their laughter rang out.

While they were tickling Anna, a flashing light suddenly turned on followed by the sound of many clicking camera shutters. The noise came from the gate, and it was getting louder, but the people inside had no idea what was going on.

Elsa and her friends all turned their heads and stared at the gate. There they saw a man dressed in a black suit walking in, and there was a woman in a blue gown walking next to him. It was hard to guess their ages. The man looked very handsome with deep eyes, a straight nose, and thin lips, just like an elaborated sculpture made by the most skilled artist. He was walking in a slow stride surrounded by a plethora of journalists and paparazzi.

While the woman walking beside him wasn't as attractive as he was, but her eyes were bright. Although she was no longer in her youth, her eyes still looked so bright and pure.

"I have the feeling that... Charlie and Evelyn look exactly like them," Olivia said in a daze.

Anna shot Olivia a glance and said, "Are you saying that you think they're Charlie and Evelyn's parents?"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
