Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 725 Performing A Play (Part One)
Love is like two people pulling a rubber band towards the opposite directions. Once the time comes, the one who isn't willing to let go of his/her grip will surely be the one to get lashed the moment the other lets go.

"Bri..." Molly's voice sounded sad even though she was holding her emotions back. Her face looked pale because of her recent high fever and long mental stress. Even her lips were chapped, thus, making her looked more haggard.
Hand in hand with Ling, Brian walked towards Molly and finally stopped before her. Slightly looked down at her with his intimidating gaze and said, "What are you doing here?" He didn't even conceal how disgusted he was with the lady. Ling pressed her lips slightly. She looked very noble while wearing her light rosy wool dress and a smoky gray cape. Compared with the charming Ling, Molly could be described as extremely disheveled at that moment. Her pale face, her dry lips, her somewhat messy hair, her peaky appearance... all these looked so incompatible with everything and everybody around her.
On the other hand, Ling looked a little embarrassed. She tried to get rid of Brian's grip but she failed. In the end, she could do nothing but smile and nod to Molly as a greeting. Then she turned her head to look at Brian and said in a low voice, "Bri, loosen your hand." Brian glanced at her and saw the request in her eyes. Finally, he opened the door of the suite and said to her, "You may wait for me in the room. I've told someone to buy a nightgown for you." Those provocative words came out of his thin lips shamelessly. His voice was deep and magnetic, almost pampering.
It made Ling took a look at Molly worriedly. However, she didn't say anything more when she pressed her lips again and nodded. She then turned around and entered the suite.
The door slammed shut in front of Molly. Just staring at that door seriously made her feel sick. There was this type of bitterness that made its way from her heart to every fiber of her being.
"Say it. What do you want to say to me?" Brian asked. With both hands in his trouser pockets, he looked down at Molly again like she was just a piece of trash. He said, "I don't think it's necessary for you to talk with me anymore if you don't want to sign the divorce agreement. The outcome will be the same anyway whether you sign it or not." He saw Molly raised her face and looked at him when he took a pause. His heart ached and he felt so suffocated when their eyes met. His coldness nearly collapsed with how pitiful she was. However, he chose to stay cold and kept his hard aura. Instead, he said, "I will give Addison's custody to you as compensation if you sign the divorce agreement. However, If you don't sign it, you will lose everything in court. Tsk! You should have known that there is nothing I can't get if I want to. It was bad that you didn't stay longer to see it."
Molly stared at Brian with her unblinking red eyes. What he said were like splinters that pinned her heart on every worst spot. "Bri, why are you taking her here?" she asked.
Hearing that she changed the topic, Brian frowned slightly as his eyes turned dark, "I take anybody I want to take. How dare you question me?"
"I'm your wife!" said Molly. She gritted her teeth to prevent her teardrops from falling. "Even if I sign the divorce agreement tomorrow, I am still your wife at least for today!"
Brian lowered his eyes as a sneer appeared on his thin lips. A few seconds later, he lifted his sharp gaze to look at her again. He said, "Molly, even though you are my wife, you have no right to judge me. Do you understand?" "No, I don't... Ouch!"
She exclaimed when he suddenly grasped her chin. It hurt so much when he squeezed her chin more with his strong hand. Putting her face between his fingers upwards, he said in a cold voice, "I really doubt about what Shirley told me. How could I give up my life for someone like you?" Looking down at Molly's face, he hissed, "No matter what I did to you before, you were the one who quit... You know what, Molly? Ling is the one I truly love. I took Becky to substitute for her, while you only have a pair of similar eyes to those of Ling's." Molly tried hard to stop feeling the pain on her chin. She almost ran out of air with what she had heard. He said that she was a substitute for Ling. Worse, she wasn't just a simple substitute, she was a "substitute to another substitute", Becky. That couldn't be true! He only said this because he lost his memory. Truth was, he loved her. The only one he loved was her!
With her trembling hand, Molly took something out of her pocket and grasped it. She raised her hand slowly. Her underlip turned bluish because of his tight grip. Nevertheless, she didn't complain loud except for the scream in the beginning.
"Brian," she called as tears began to spill out of her beautiful eyes. Brian's face began to blur in her sight. She unfolded her trembling hand and exposed the ring in her hand. "This ring was your gift for me. You gave it to me when we got married in QY Island. There was nobody with us during that time. There were only you and me..." her sobs mixed with her words as her tears continually flowed. She added, "You told me that the diamond on the ring was honored as 'the Soul of K'. You said that I would be your wife and that the ring was your promise to me. You said that I would only belong to you in my lifetime. You vowed that you would be together with me, regardless if we were in heaven or hell..."
She didn't understand why she hadn't treasured his love before. She couldn't even tell why she hadn't seen everything he had done for her from the beginning. It was too late when she realized how much he had loved her. Thus, she wondered why God played tricks on her.
Brian still looked indifferent. Neither the ring, nor Molly's tears, nor even her sad accusation could arouse any of his emotions. In a dry tone, he said, "The Soul of K..." He loosened his grip on Molly's chin and took the ring from her hand. Then he continued, "I don't know under what kind of circumstance I gave this ring to you. However, you don't deserve it!" As soon as he finished talking, he raised his hand to throw the ring into the garbage can at the corridor.
Molly opened her eyes wide as soon as she heard the light sound created by the ring hitting the metal garbage can. She was too stunned to even react.
"Molly, I don't love you. On the contrary, I'm disgusted with you subconsciously..." Brian said coldly. "Since I dislike you so much, I just can't imagine how I could fall in love with you before!"
Molly raised her head slowly to look up at Brian's face. His face looked vague in her teary eyes. Her lips kept quivering because of sadness. When they had gotten married in that church, she had vowed in front of the priest that she would never leave him as long as he didn't discard her. What should she do now? He wanted to discard her just like how one would discard a pair of old shoes. He didn't even conceal his disgusted expressions to her at all.
After taking a slight glance at Molly, Brian opened the door and entered the suite without even saying a word.
The door didn't slam shut but it was closed in an indifferent way.
Molly suddenly felt that her legs and feet were too weak to even support her body. She fell down and knelt on the ground. Her face looked even paler now compared to how it had been. She was staring at the garbage can blankly.
She had once thrown the ring away because of fury. However, she had searched for it for two nights after that as if she had been bewitched. Another time, Fly had thrown that ring away too, then she had looked for it in the heavy rain as if she had been crazy. It was different now that it was Brian who threw it away. She didn't even have the courage or ground to look for it and take it back.
She told herself that Brian was just losing his memory and that he truly loved her.
All of a sudden, she closed her eyes to squeeze her tears out. She had been convincing herself that the reason why Brian was doing this was that he lost his memory. She told herself not to give up regardless of what would happen. However, her defenses were all destroyed easily when she heard him say "since I dislike you so much, I just can't imagine how I could fall in love with you before".
He hated her! Wing had been paralyzed as a result of her foolishness. Since Brian valued Wing so much, he would never forgive her. Therefore, he was punishing her by losing his memory and being disgusted with her.
