Love Began with the First Meeting
Chapter 798 Great Changes Because Of Love (Part Three)

At that point, a frown was plastered on the woman's face and she turned to look at Brian.

In turn, Brian stood up from his seat. His face looked dark and the opposite of just awhile ago. His eyes squinted at her in a condescending manner and he spat out, "Molly Xia, do you need me to remind you that there is no relationship between us?"

His words made Molly's eyes suddenly feel sore. She could feel the stinging tears threatening to come out but she stopped it by clenching her hands so hard that her nails dug imprints onto her palms, and said through gritted teeth, "Is it true that we already have had no relationship?" She managed to get the words out clearly but struggled to hold back her tears. Her calmness completely flew out the window in an instant when she saw Brian with another woman, even when she had spent the whole night trying to be calm. "Even though we don't have any relationship now, but we have the same boy, Mark," She tried her best not let the tears run down. "This is a fact that you can never deny," Molly said in a voice laced with all the sadness she had felt.

However, Brian's face only turned darker. His eyes stared at Molly cruelly as if he wanted to cut her with a knife. He hissed, "You, Molly Xia, get out of here!"

At this point, Molly was filled with rage and said, "How could you say that?" Her eyes glared at him head-on and gave him a stern look, "On what status can you speak like that to me since we have no relationship?"

Brian had no response to that for a while. Then, the woman with him spoke up and broke the silence, "Brian..." She stood up as well and went on, "She..."

However, she was cut off when Molly bellowed angrily, "You shut up! This has nothing to do with you. It's between him and me..."

"For your information, it is you who should shut up!" Brian interrupted her as well. Brian's last words came out so cold that as if he came from hell and his iciness seemed to drop down Sun Island's high temperature when he talked.

Molly looked at an enraged Brian and there she knew that everything she had done, no matter how hard she strived, all her efforts seemed to be ridiculous. The tears she had been trying to hold back finally ran down her cheeks, some of the droplets falling to the sides of her lips. The liquid tasted so salty and bitter, just like the harsh reality that kept hurting her.

The woman beside Brian looked more serious, but said nothing.

"Brian, is she the one..." Molly's voice said through broken sobs, but she could not go on with her sentence. She felt as if she would only humiliate herself if she continued. She inhaled deeply and looked at Brian through tear-filled eyes and said, "Remember how you treated me today. You will feel regret someday! And I'll make sure to see it soon!" Her tightly pursed lips quivered as she spoke because she tried really hard to suppress her tears. Her eyes bore holes through Brian's own, but she got no response from him. Molly couldn't talk to him anymore, so she turned around and left.

When Molly was far from their sight, the woman walked closer to Brian and asked,"Are you sure not to go and catch up with her?"

Brian did not speak. He just stared at the continuously receding figure that was almost out of his field of vision.

"Is she the woman who you love for your whole life?" she asked in a low voice. The woman was puzzled when she noticed that Brian had not stopped staring at the direction Molly left. She then asked, "If you love her so much, why do you push her away?" In turn, Brian sank to his seat again. His legs were crossed and one arm leaned on the armrest of the couch. His eyes looked at his left hand.

The woman followed suit and sat beside him. She asked again, "Brian, do you have to torture yourself like this? It is also too harsh to Molly." The air was still silent from Brian's end. She sighed deeply and went on,"Do you think Wing will be happy when she wakes up and sees everything?"

Brian still didn't reply, and just sat there as still as a statue.

"I don't know much about what happened between you and Molly. I only heard it from Aunt Shirley when I returned to XK Intelligence Agency and visited her." The lady looked at Brian and asked, "Do you want to know what I think of it?" Brian winced mentally and turned his eyes to the woman.

The woman's face became more serious. She had a kingly demeanor and she slowly said, "For a woman, she can pursue her true love during her whole life! A woman can be far stronger than what a man can imagine. They can do something you would never even think about. Whether it's Molly or Wing, they will never give up as long as they have love in their minds." She paused and went on,"If they give up, that means they have died already on the inside. Brian, do you really want her to be like this?"

Meanwhile upstairs, Molly sat quietly in her hotel room's terrace. Her arms circled her curled legs, with her tear-stained face between them. She motionlessly looked out to the window. Outside the quiet night, all the national flowers of Sun Island, the sunflower, drooped their yellow petaled heads. Without the sunlight, the sunflowers seemed to be sad and have been drained of their happy yellow color.

Molly just sat there still. The hot tears continued to cascade down her face and she just let them. Soon enough, they stopped and dried up after a long time. She remained sitting there quietly until the first rays of the dawn sunshine crossed the western clouds and shone on the ground.

After a few moments, the sun had fully come out. Molly slowly raised her puffy eyes and stared at the glowing ball of gas. The bright sunlight passed through the glass windows and hit her eyes. Her orbs felt hurt by the stinging rays and she quickly shut them in reflex. When she felt better, she opened her eyes again. Her gaze turned to the patch of sunflowers outside. The yellow flowers could have their dose of happy sunshine again after the long, sad darkness. How about her?

It was then that she just understood that all her efforts and passions could be simply washed away by a gush of cold water.

Her large doe eyes blinked a bit, then Molly got up to leave the terrace. The pain hit her when she tried to get up, her body felt sore and stiff from too much sitting still and she could barely stand up. When she had dragged her body up, she went to the bathroom and washed up. Once that was done, she went to the closet and pulled out a blue beach skirt with sunflowers on it. She wanted to have a stroll on the beach. She had been on the beach once, where she had spent the happiest time of her life. Now, everything back then seemed only like a fleeting dream.

She decided not to bring anything with her when she got out. The whole world seemed to be silent when she closed the door of her room and went to the elevator. However, that was not the case when she came out. She was shocked when she saw a crowd of people in the lobby and the bustling noise from the outside.

"She's coming..." a voice exclaimed excitedly.

Before Molly could make sense of what was happening or respond, a large group of reporters swarmed Molly after they broke through hotel security.

"Miss Xia, could you tell us when the relationship between you and Mr. Eric Long started?"

"Miss Xia, according to an unnamed person, you will be engaged to Mr. Eric Long in Dragon Island. Is that true?"

"Miss Xia, could you please say something about you and Mr. Eric Long? And what do you think of the fact that you will be the hostess of Dragon Island?"

"Mr. Eric Long took you to the celebratory dinner last night, and many people surmise that you will get engaged soon. Miss Xia, could you tell us the exact date?"

Hordes and hordes of questions fired one after another from the reporters who struggled to get answers from her. Molly just stood there in amazement. She hadn't even got the proper time to submerge herself in her sorrows, yet here she was facing a crowd of paparazzi and reporters the very next day. She could only look at the people who were incessantly asking her about the fact that she would become the hostess of Dragon Island. 'What? What did they say? Why will I become the hostess of Dragon Island?' Molly felt even more confused.

"I..." Only one word came out of Molly's mouth when she saw Brian got off a car, together with the woman she saw last night who was together with Brian. At the same time, the reporters around her still kept asking questions crazily.

From the foyer of the lobby, Brian saw Molly and heard the reporters' questions about the exact time Eric and her would get engaged.

He did not respond or react to anything. His face still wore that indifferent expression he always had, as if the scene in front of him was not happening at all.

Molly looked at the woman beside him and her heart sank little by little. When her eyes were on Brian again, she opened her mouth and the next words slowly tumbled out of her lips, "If everything goes well, Eric and I will get engaged at the end of this month!"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
