Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 825 Leaving Dragon Island (Part Two)
The shower was running, and the sound was carrying itself from the bathroom to the bedroom. Molly, in her bathrobe, was lying on the bed on her side, gazing at the object on the bedside table, smiling with happiness and pleasure. On the bedside table stood a carving of two clasped hands that she and Brian had made a while before with their own hands.
She tilted her head, looking at the carving with intent eyes, her mind filling with infatuation, love, and all sorts of fantasies. Brian had told her after they made the carving that the powder in the glass container was often used to make a sculpture or carving. Because the powder was mostly used in the military, it contained a special kind of material that helped it shape quickly.
Molly sat up on the bed, her legs crossed. She leaned over to pick up the carving up and then touched it gently with her other hand, her fingers tracing along it. Although she knew that it was solid and could not break, she still acted like it was fragile glass, afraid to put too much strength in her hold.
The running water stopped, and a couple minutes later, the bathroom door opened, and Brian emerged. He stood in the doorway, glancing over at Molly, who was absorbed in the carving. Then his eyes became gradually darker.
Water dripped from his hair and trickled down his handsome face, adding to his tempting allure.
He stepped on the shag carpet and slowly walked towards Molly. Just as he sat down on the bedside, her faint voice flowed into his ears, "Bri..."
"What?"
Molly looked towards him, giving him a mysterious smile and lifting up the carving, "How did you pick up the idea of making such a cute thing?"
Brian took the carving from her hand and looked at it. "I was just handling some affairs in the military base with Eric. When we passed by the military administration office, I suddenly recalled the days when Eric and I were young and usually made this kind of stuff. So I brought some of it back on a whim to make one with you."
His words brought a sensation of cold water being dunked on her head. She thought to herself, 'What? On a whim?'
Then her face darkened. She glared at Brian as she complained, "I spent a whole night thinking about the reason why you did such a romantic thing, and you're telling me now that it was just on a whim?"
Brian nodded casually and put the carving back on the bedside table. He said, "I can do many romantic things for you if you want." He paused as a wicked glint flashed in his eyes, "It only depends on what you want to do with me."
His words only annoyed her more. 'What did he mean by that?' she wondered.
"Brian! What..."
Brian suddenly leapt forward and kissed her, cutting her words off, and then pushed her into the bed.
A midnight haze blocked the moonlight. Glimmers of light shone through the screen window and on the two figures rolling in the bed, the sheet getting tangled up in between their bodies. The woman's moan of pleasure aroused the man's primal urges. The next morning, bright sunlight illuminated through the clouds and lit up every corner on the island.
Molly walked out of the kitchen with a plate in her hand. She placed it on the table, smiling at the fried egg and toast that were on it. Then she took off her apron and then headed up the stairs.
"Breakfast is ready!" she called as she opened the door to Brian's room. To her surprise, he was already standing close to the door. She smiled at him. "Eric called me just now and told me that he chartered a plane at ten o'clock for us. He also said that he would leave with us."
Brian was listening to her as they both made their way downstairs. Recalling his fight with his cousin several days before, Brian sneered. "He's trying to escape his punishment by skipping out of the island."
"But he's the ruler of Dragon Island. Does he really need to be punished?" Molly asked, surprised. She had thought it strange that Frank had imposed a punishment on Eric, and didn't think that he was serious.
"Our family has very strict rules. As the ruler of Dragon Island, Eric has little freedom to do many things," Brian explained as he stopped and looked at Molly, "For example, he shouldn't have fought me the day before yesterday."
Molly pressed her lips tightly. A hint of guilt flashed in her eyes as she said sulkily, "It's all your fault! He wouldn't have been punished if he didn't fight with you."
Brian fell into silence.
"Little Molly is right!" A bantering voice suddenly cut in. Eric stared at the food on the table and said, "Wow! It seems that I come right in time." He sat down at the table, grabbed the food Molly had prepared for Brian and started eating. "Because of you two, I lost my authority as the ruler. At least I should enjoy this breakfast as compensation."
Brian fixed his deep gaze at him but said nothing in reply. He picked up the cup of milk and took a small sip before he finally asked, "Did you manage to handle Uncle Frank?"
"Well, that was easy! Did you forget that we still have Aunt Shirley on our side?" Eric raised an eyebrow and shrugged, "Her words always worked no matter it was Uncle Richie or my father!"
Brian didn't ask about the details because he was clear that every problem would get solved once his mother took up it. Aside from Richie and Frank's concessions to her, she was always able to replace out many reasons to persuade them.
Because of her guilty conscience, Molly didn't blame Eric for eating off Brian's breakfast. Instead, she gave her breakfast to Brian and cooked a new one for herself.
After they finished their breakfast, they drove to the international airport in Dragon Island. When they reached there, Spark and Mark were having their drinks at the departure lounge.
"What time does your plane leave?" Brian asked as he stared at Spark.
"Half past nine."
Brian glanced at his watch and said, "Is it convenient for you to have a chat with me?"
Spark shrugged and stood up from his seat. Then they stepped towards another table at a distance.
A waiter poured them each a cup of coffee after they got seated. Spark picked up the coffee and took a small sip as he said, "There's no need for you if you are about to express your thanks. I did that for Molly's sake, not for you."]0
