"Little Molly, this is from Spark," Eric said, handing the bouquet of lilium casa blanca to Molly.
Looking around instinctively, Molly discovered that everybody around were either greeting or chatting. In the background the band played gentle, loving melodies. She looked in the direction of Eric and Brian. Mixtures of complex emotions were rolling around her heart. Looking intrigued over the bunch of flowers, she found a small card among them. Holding her breath in anticipation and excitedly she carefully picked out the dainty card.
"If you are content, every day is sunny; If you are feeling happy, he will be your destination!" the card read.
The finery of the filigree handwriting was soft yet resolute, which looked like the work of an artist. His words were simple yet composed. Molly felt her nose ached, as her emotions flared while she read the card. She clearly knew every word had meaning and had been written from his heart. She pursed her lips to try to restraint her pent up emotions. Her eyes were already moist and becoming difficult to control. Immediately a thought came to her, about the 'Sunny Day', when Spark had bought her a gift. Then recalling the auction in T City, as if time had stopped in that moment. The beautiful sunflower shaped pendent, she treasured so much.
Brian's deep-set striking eyes, looked indifferent as usual, without any emotion which would reveal his true feelings. He stretched out his arms to hold Molly in his. "Mol," he said softly. Hearing his voice, Molly looked at him. He continued, "All he actually wants, is to see you being happy."
Pursing her lips, Molly nodded with tear-filled eyes, "I know that, but I feel-"
"I understand," Brian said in an indifferent voice, staring at Molly. Telepathically their eyes met. They were able to know each other's thoughts, without saying a word.

Eric wore a sly smile in the corners of his mouth, as he stared at them. His smile looked casual and sincere to those around him. But no one knew, it not only contained his best wishes for Molly and Brian, but also his own bitterness.
Elias took a look at Spark and then at the vial in his hand. It was filled with some type of green liquid. While shaking the bottle, he asked "Mr. Brian Long and Miss Xia are getting married today. Why are you here, instead of attending their wedding?" while waiting for a while with no response. He continued, "Don't try and be pretentiously apathetic and detached with me!" Spark didn't reply. He kept on playing with the filled bottle in his hand.
"Spark!" Elias said, trying to get his attention while staring at him after placing the agent he held under the microscope. "When do you plan on having the operation?" Elias asked concerned.
Hearing the question, Spark stopped immediately and turned his head to look at Elias. After taking a pause, he said slowly, "Maybe after the Spring Festival." Spark resumed his handling of the bottle in his hand, with a distracted look on his face. "I don't want to celebrate the Spring Festival in hospital. That would bring me bad luck," he added.
Hearing his explanation, Elias couldn't help but shrug. As a foreigner, he would understand why Spark might think this way. But in his situation he couldn't understand why he thought like this at all.
With the exception of the continuous sounds, created by Elias dealing with the bottles and jars, there were no other sounds in the laboratory, as both men had stopped talking now.
Spark was lost in his complex thoughts. He knew it was Molly and Brian's wedding day, having received a short message from Molly who invited him to attend the wedding. Besides, Mark had called him specially to talk about it. However, he didn't want to attend it. With his thoughts diagnosing the situation, Spark gradually slowed down and finally stopped. Looking at his left hand intently, self-mockery portrayed his expression.
His reason for not wanting to attend the wedding, was not that he didn't want to witness Molly's happiness. The real reason was that he knew his expression would betray him. He didn't want Molly to see the empty desolation and yearning loneliness within him.

At the Dragon Mountain in Dragon Island.
The festive part of the wedding was arranged at the banquet hall of the royal garden. As Dragon mountain was directly situated behind the royal garden, this lent itself to a much larger area. Guests who had been invited to attend the wedding, arrived in drips and drabs. Entering the hall, it was discovered that the arrangement looked kind of mysterious.
While Molly went to change her clothes in the dressing room, Eric invited Edgar to another hall, to have a chat. As soon as Edgar exited the banquet hall, Daniel's eyes turned brighter with relief. Edgar was the commander of the army, which Daniel was a part of. As a solider, he dared not behave in an undisciplined manner in front of his superior. Even though they were outside the boundaries of the army, the rules still applied. Now that Edgar was absent, he felt at ease and was able to relax. He began to look around for his nephew. Daniel was hoping to enjoy a little of his freedom before Edgar returned.
"Mark, Mark..." Daniel called Mark's name and motioned by waving his hand at him.
Hearing his name, Mark turned his head around to look at Daniel. He quickly notified Shirley before he ran to Daniel. "Uncle Daniel," he greeted Daniel by wrapping his arms around his uncle's legs.
Daniel lifted him up and held him in his arms. Hearing Mark call him uncle, he grinned from ear to ear, with great joy overflowing from his heart. "Have a look. Here is a gift for you," he said while taking out something small from his pocket.
As soon as he saw the brassy yellow whistle in the palm of Daniel's hand, Mark's big eyes shone. He stretched his arms out to reach it, beginning to observing it. He studied it for a while. Then, looking at Daniel, he asked in an excited tone, "Uncle Daniel, is this made from a shell case?"
Daniel nodded and said with a smile, "This is made out of the first bullet I shot as a sniper. We have a tradition that the first shot of bullet must be kept as a souvenir."
Hearing Daniel's explanation, with his eyes fixed on the whistle in his hand. Mark liked it so much that he didn't want to put it down. He asked Daniel to confirm, "Then, Uncle Daniel is giving this to me?"
"Hmm," Daniel nodded. "I made this myself to give you as a gift."
"But wouldn't you want to keep it as a souvenir?" Mark asked sensibly, beyond his years and with consideration. Even though he wanted the whistle desperately, which was apparent in his eyes. [
