Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 875 Extra Story 21 Of Aaron A Dreadful Scene
"I have just decided that I will not only have dinner together with you in the evening but also take you with me in the whole afternoon," with a calm and emotionless voice, Aaron declared. The moment the two of them arrived at where Ken was standing, Aaron unfolded his other hand towards Ken. Immediately Ken knew what Aaron meant. He handed the key to the car to Aaron. Then still with Ximena's hand in his, Aaron walked towards the car. While walking, he ordered Ken, "Go to tell Carter that I'm not going to attend his banquet tonight and that I will host a banquet by myself to serve him some other day."
"Yes, sir," Ken answered respectfully. Looking at the two people who were gradually fading away from his sight, he took a slight frown and then left.
The sea continued to toss its waves with the water kissing the sand on the shore. Aaron drove the car with mirth on his face as he knew that besides him was Ximena with her innocent smile. "What?" With a voice resembling a shout, Vivi looked at Ken angrily. "Did you say that Aaron isn't coming for dinner tonight?"
"Yes, you heard it right," Ken answered in neither humble nor pushy tone. "His Highness has to deal with something unexpected. He told me to apologize to Mr. Zhuang especially. He said that he will host a banquet by himself to serve you after the 'unexpected thing' is finished."
Carter Zhuang, Vivi's father, was sitting on the sofa and was listening to Ken. The green jade tobacco pipe held in one of his hands was giving out light smoke that was curling upwards. After taking a glance at Vivi, who was glaring at Ken in fury, he said in a calm voice, "I know that the affairs of the Leng Family are about to come to an end. We can have dinner at any time after then. So I'm in no hurry."
"Yes, I understand," without shifting his gaze, Ken said still in neither humble nor pushy tone. "If you have nothing else to ask, please let me say goodbye and take my leave."
With his pipe perched on his mouth, Carter nodded and ordered his butler to see Ken off. After Ken exited the room, Vivi began to complain to her father.
"Daddy." Sitting down his father's side, Vivi angrily scorned, "Aaron must have been entangled by that coquette."
Carter didn't respond to his daughter right away. He took a puff of the tobacco and then slowly puffed the smoke. When Vivi was about to get angry with his silence, he said slowly, "If I remember correctly, that woman has stayed by his side for more than two months." "Hmm," Vivi answered sulkily. The more she thought about Ximena, the angrier she became. Plus, when the scene she had seen at Aaron's villa when she had gone there together with Zoey came to her mind, the previous pureness on her face was gradually replaced by a heavy haze. "Daddy, as long as that woman stays by Aaron's side, everything goes wrong for me," she uttered her worries with a hope that her father would help her solve the problem.
While his fingers of the idle hand kept tapping his leg, a myriad of thoughts crowded into Carter's mind all of a sudden.
Previously when Vivi had begun showing her interest in Aaron and tried to connect with him, he had disagreed with her. However, later when he had gotten to know his identity, he had changed his attitude and even strongly supported Vivi to get intimate with Aaron. The reason behind such support was because he knew clearly that in QY Island, only people who won the support of both the Leng Family and the highness favored the luck in business.
Nobody else could act recklessly and still care for nobody on the island. Due to his dual identity, Aaron was exactly such an ideal person. If he would become a member of the Zhuang Family through a relationship by affinity, their family business would be sure to achieve unprecedented development. That meant gold and glory for Carter.
With these thoughts in his mind, Carter raised his eyebrows silently. He turned his head to look at Vivi, who still looked angry. As a father not willing to see his daughter in such misery and as a businessman not willing to get broke, he would not allow his daughter to miss the man she was about to get. In order to prevent that possibility from happening, he would give her a hand and do anything he could to help her.
"Just set your heart at ease." Carter held his daughter's hand with his. "Daddy will never let him leave you."
Hearing his father's assurance, which sounded like an empty promise, Vivi still felt restless and depressed. Looking at her father, she could do nothing but nod despite her uneasiness.
As Vivi's father, Carter knew exactly what she was thinking. He chuckled and said, "What's wrong? You don't trust your daddy?"
"But Aaron..." Hesitant, Vivi wanted to say something, but she didn't continue. Instead, she changed her words, "I believe that Aaron won't leave me."
"As my daughter, you should be confident. Don't worry dear." Carter clasped Vivi's hand while squinting his eyes, a tinge of chilly treacherous light emanated from them.
From the way one would look at it, Carter was up to something and he would make sure that Aaron could never run away from it.
On the other hand, Ximena didn't know where Aaron would drive her, she never dared ask him about that. Along the way, both of them were silent. With the silence between them, the air in the car was freezing together with their feelings.
The car slid from the seaside to the urban area, and then passed through the commercial area.
With her eyes wide open, Ximena looked ahead. All of a sudden, she got a bad intuition that something awful was going to happen as some places came to her mind. While the car was nearing that place, she swallowed her saliva secretly and held her breath. Her heart gradually rose to her throat.
Along with the sound of the screeching brake, the car stopped at a dark place.
Looking at the tube-shaped apartment in front of the car as well as the dilapidated surroundings, Ximena gritted her teeth tightly. She knew that she was going to face something not so good.
"Get off the car," the door was opened and a cold voice came through.
Sitting on the front passenger seat, Ximena turned her head sideways to look at Aaron, who was now outside the car. She knew that she had nowhere to retreat. She tried her best to put a restraint on nausea and fear rolling in her heart before she opened the door and got off the car. Trying to keep herself calm, her feet slowed down out of the control of her mind.
When he locked the doors with his remote, Aaron took a slight glance at her. Without saying a word, he went on walking forward.
Ximena looked at his back, hesitant to follow him along. At the moment, as a gust of gloomy wind blew, she could not help but shudder.
Careless of his surrounding, Aaron didn't stop his footsteps though Ximena didn't catch up with him. He walked to the direction of the tube-shaped apartment in neither too fast nor too slow steps. With a good dress and bright shoes, he was supposed to be out of the place like a pig in a square hole. However, it didn't seem improper at all for him to be here as if he had been born to stand here.
Fear enveloped her being, Ximena's heart was increasingly suppressed by the cold and gruesome atmosphere. She wished she could retreat. She regretted intentionally saying that she wanted to have dinner together with him by the seaside. He knew she had said that on purpose, so he was taking her here. She knew that clearly.
Closing her eyes, she kept swallowing her saliva to put a restraint on her fear. Her breath became a bit heavy. She didn't open her eyes until Aaron's figure was about to disappear from the narrow passage of the tube-shaped apartment. Looking at his fading back, which was far away from her now, she folded her hands into tight fists and gritted her teeth hard, taking her steps forward. With quick and unwanted steps, she strode in order to catch up with Aaron.
As her footsteps neared the tube-shaped apartment, Ximena's heart began beating violently. The sound of her heartbeat was as loud as a drum.
"Ah-"
a heartrending shrill came through the gloomy tube-shaped apartment and kept echoing inside the apartment after it was blocked by the wall. Ximena's nerves were attacked by such a sound.
She stood in the middle of the passage, trembling. Looking at Aaron, who was standing at the exit ahead of her, she gritted her teeth hard to create a sound.
"Ah-"
another heartrending thrill came through, which sounded more painful and miserable than the one a moment ago.
With her mouth slightly open, Ximena began gasping for air. Turning around in a hurry, she didn't want to stay here for even a moment.
"Stop!" a cold voice came through among the heartrending thrill. It was not too loud, but it contained more pressure that she could not bear.
Feeling weak in her knees, Ximena doubted whether she would run or turn back and face the owner of the voice that demanded her to stop. Cold shivers run down her spine and she shook like a dead leaf in the wind.
