Love Began with the First Meeting -
Chapter 950 Extra Story 88 Of Aaron Parents
Seeing that she was very happy with Aaron, James could not help but laugh at himself secretly. When the two of them had been in love several years ago, he had found that she had more or less expected something else aside from being loved by him, which she had probably not realized by herself. Now seeing how she looked, he thought that perhaps her affection for Aaron had turned out to be more than her affection for him. "I'm going to fly to France this evening," James said in an indifferent voice, taking a slight glance at the bracelet around Ximena's wrist, which was made by the jade seal of the Leng Family. "You can go and visit me if you have a chance to go there in the future." Trying to ease the awkwardness that she felt inside, Ximena didn't respond to him right away. Holding the cup of coffee between the palms of both her hands, she had a complicated expression on her face, which betrayed the variety of emotions she was feeling right now. It was not until quite a while later that she opened her mouth, "Sorry..." she said with her sincerest voice.
"It's I who should say sorry!" with his head bowed low, James interrupted her. A faint smile appeared at the corners of his mouth. Seeing that Ximena looked sad, he added slowly, "I'm very happy to see that you are able to realize your dreams now. I mean it!"
"Thank you, James!" Feeling a little at ease now, Ximena sighed slightly and continued, "There are many things that I couldn't understand until recently. When you enter a vicious cycle in life, sometimes there are problems that you think you are not able to walk out, only to realize in the end that you don't really want to walk out of it."
While hearing what she said, James wore a faint smile at the corners of his mouth. However, at the same time, there was a tinge of sadness deep in his eyes, which could not be hidden. 'Ximena, go ahead and grasp your happiness tightly in your hand. Brother Aaron will treat you very well, ' he thought to himself.
Times went at its usual pace as the two of them chatted. Ximena had been restrained at first, but gradually she had been relieved, and a smile of comfort played at the corners of her mouth. Seeing her genuine happiness, James thought, 'Leave the memory between us to me. What I can take is only my memory of the past. Forget about me. You will have a happy life in the future.'
In the end, what James left to Ximena was only one word "family".
He didn't bother to make it clear to her, because he believed that Ximena was wise enough to understand what he meant. Then they bid each other goodbye and exchanged contented smiles as they parted ways. Forgiveness was such a liberating act that it made two people's heart so light after letting go of all the burdens they had been carrying with them all along.
Standing in front of the door of the cafe, Ximena was waiting for a taxi. She wondered whether she should learn how to drive and get a driving license. At the same time, she thought about the word James had said to her in the end before they had said goodbye to each other.
"Family?!"
She mumbled to herself. Before she was able to ponder it out, a taxi stopped by her side and she got on it.
"Where are you going, young lady?" the taxi driver asked.
"Go to 'Only Memory'," Ximena answered abruptly. "Only Memory" was the name of her fashion design shop. "Okay..."
Seated comfortably inside the cab, Ximena looked out of the window. As the view on the side of the street slowly slid out of her sight, she became lost in her thoughts again. 'Family, family, family... family...'
The word kept on lingering on her mind and she couldn't fathom what James meant by them. Gradually, she smiled. She wondered whether James had meant the same thing as Aaron referred to by talking about "home". Shutting the idea off her mind, she lowered her eyes slightly, took her cellphone out of her bag, opened the cellphone and found Aaron's number. She stared at the cellphone for a while, then without doing anything to it, she put it back to her bag.
If they didn't want to have a child, if they didn't want to get married, she could have a temporary family with Aaron. That would be enough for her and she would treasure that with Aaron. She was living for the moment and just let the future be. Anyways whatever would come, Ximena was confident that she would be prepared to face it as long as she had Aaron with her. These past few years, he had served as her strength and fortress at the same time that every time she looked at him she felt encouraged and strengthened. She knew that together, they would be happy and invulnerable.
It seemed that she had straightened out her thinking. She felt like she was enlightened all of a sudden. This time, with a much clearer head, she looked out of the window again. After a short while, she suddenly realized something was wrong. "Driver, I'm afraid that you're going the wrong way," she said to the taxi driver hastily.
"Miss Mo, don't worry. It's only a roundabout way instead of a wrong way," the taxi driver answered.
Hearing that, Ximena could not help but open her eyes wide. "You know me?" she asked.
"Of course I know you. You're Mr. Aaron Leng's woman," the taxi driver answered with a smile. He took a look at Ximena from the rearview mirror. Seeing that her face was drained out of color, he added, "Just set your heart at rest. I will send you back to your shop by taking a roundabout route. That is because I have something to tell you." Surprised at the driver's remarks, Ximena's heart rose to her mouth. She tightened her grip on her cellphone. "What's that? What do you want to tell me?" she asked, trying to be calm.
"Miss Mo," the taxi driver said while looking ahead. "Since Mr. Aaron Leng's men always follow you, I can only talk with you by creating such an opportunity."
"What on earth do you want to tell me?" frustrated and uneasy this time, Ximena asked in a colder voice. She didn't want to listen to blather.
With a smile on his lips, the taxi driver answered, "I'm telling you something about your biological parents..."
At the mention of her parents, Ximena felt as if ice-cold water was being poured all over her at the moment. Her face grew even paler and numbness crept through her hands. She found it difficult to breathe all of a sudden. 000000000☐☐☐☐☐☐
