Ludwik's brow furrowed as the doctor repeated the news. "Ms. Valentine's HCG levels are above 5, indicating pregnancy. Of course, it's early days yet, and we'll need to retest to confirm."

Taking a deep breath, Ludwik's mind raced back to that harrowing night just over a week ago, the night she was taken and drugged. He hadn't imagined that such a brief, tumultuous moment would lead to pregnancy. His emotions were indescribable. He knew without a doubt the child was his. Throughout this period, she had been with no other man.

A flash of fierce emotion crossed his eyes as he asked, "So, she is indeed pregnant?"

The doctor, almost certain, smiled. "It appears so, Ludwik. Congratulations."

Whitney, Whitney...

As Ludwik silently repeated her name, a tumult of emotions surged through him. The doctor, out of respect for Ludwik's influence, had shared the news early, fearing Ms. Valentine might not welcome this pregnancy.

"Hold on!" Ludwik interjected sharply, his demeanor changing instantly. Nearly four years had passed since Whitney last got pregnant with his child. Would she accept this news?

The thought struck Ludwik hard. Seeing him engaged to Florence, would Whitney decide to terminate the pregnancy?

And him? Did he want this child?

Without hesitation, Ludwik knew he wanted this child to be born. Having this child might soften Whitney's heart towards him, rekindling hope amidst their complicated love and hate.

The decision made, Ludwik instructed the doctor, "Don't tell her about the pregnancy. Destroy the test results now. We'll wait a month for an ultrasound before we tell her. Until then, keep this between us."

The doctor, intimidated by Ludwik's stern demeanor, complied, and Ludwik destroyed the documents, imagining the tiny life growing inside Whitney.

Three years ago, during Sammy and Danny's birth, he had been absent, a fact that filled him with regret.

"Ludwik!" Parker rushed in, concerned about Whitney's condition after hearing she'd fainted from shock. Ludwik, however, revealed the pregnancy news, leaving Parker astounded.

Despite their rocky relationship, Ludwik was determined to keep the child, seeing it as a lifeline for him and Whitney.

Parker, while initially shocked, advised Ludwik to clear up things with Florence and to be wary of the circumstances surrounding Whitney's father's shooting.

Approaching Whitney's room, Ludwik hesitated at the door, overhearing Bryce comforting Whitney, understanding the immense stress she'd been under since arriving in Emperor City. Ludwik's resolve only strengthened, knowing the road ahead would be challenging yet crucial for their future.

"Your uncle just told me to take good care of you, and now, here you are, sick in bed. Don't worry, Jared will wake up, it's just a matter of time."

Bryce's words instantly broke through Whitney's defenses, and she bowed her head in sorrow, her sobs filling the room.

Bryce's heart softened as he wrapped his arms around her slender frame. "You need to rest. You can't let this break you. No matter what, I'll be here to help you through this tough time."

Whitney's voice was hoarse as she sought solace in his shoulder. "I'm already broken."

Dad's in a coma, and I can't get into the Sheldon Group because HollyHugh has taken over.

Florence and Ludwik are engaged!

All this news just knocked the wind out of her sails.

"Whitney..." Bryce said as he wiped away her tears.

Outside, Ludwik's eyes blazed with fury, his face twisted in a grim scowl as he clenched his fists, ready to burst in!

But Parker caught him just in time-
