Love Blooms In Prenups By Lydia Onions -
Chapter 12
Chapter 12
As he held the spoon beside her mouth, she opened her mouth instantly and ate the food, completely forgetting that she had wanted to sue him a second ago.
Seeing that she was willing to eat, Maverick then fed her a few spoonfuls of mushroom soup with broccoli and prawns and the grilled fish on the plate.
As he stared at her obediently eating the food, he remembered her soft body. Suddenly, his mouth felt dry, and his abdomen tightened.
He had never been intimate with a woman for the past 28 years of his life except for that night three months was drugged.
ago when he
“I can’t believe I’ve become like a horny teenager after sleeping with her once. I’m only looking at her, yet I’m already lustful. Indeed, a man that has had sexual experiences before is easily aroused!” Maverick thought in disbelief.
In order to not let the others notice his awkward circumstances, he immediately stood up and left without speaking a word. Melody and Stanley glanced at each other in confusion.
*Damn. I almost lost control, Maverick thought.
Looking at Maverick’s retreating figure with a bemused expression, Melody wondered, “This guy has mood swings. Are all rich people like this? Whatever. I must leave this place as soon as I recover. I don’t care why that happened that night. Anyway, I don’t want to be involved with him any longer. However…”
She rubbed her belly. “Since my babies are still here, then it’s fate. I will give birth to them. As for this man, I’ll pretend I’ve never met him before,” she decided internally.
If Maverick realized what Melody was thinking, he would be infuriated.
After he left the master bedroom, he went straight to the study in the mansion.
Stanley also followed behind him after he left.
Maverick had already removed his suit jacket, leaving a white, purely handmade shirt. On the cuffs were two exquisite and elegant blue cufflinks with a dragon pattern on them.
It was his exclusive symbol. If others saw this pattern of a dragon, they would be scared out of their wits.
He sat down casually, but he seemed to be enveloped in a layer of ice. With that frosty, haughty look on his face, he looked like a god who dominated over the creatures of the world.
His dark eyes were black, bottomless pits. No one could see through him.
“I will stay here for this period of time, so come replace me here if there are any issues. Tell Harold to keep his eye on Yartran.” Maverick ordered.
He had already regained his usual dignified aura as if that few minutes of embarrassment had never happened to him in the
room
“Yes, Mr. Rick.”
Lots of things happened during the three months in Yartran. Geoffrey still died in the end, and Mills Corporation underwent a major restructuring.
Without telling anyone, he made his will beforehand and passed the position as head of the family to Maverick.
Left with no choice, Maverick had to involve himself in the mess and restructured Mills Corporation in less than three
months.
However, there were still hidden forces ready to brew trouble at any time, so he asked his good friend, Harold Zahn, to keep his eye on it.
Stanley looked at Maverick’s fatigued face and asked, “Mr. Rick, should we send more of our men here?”
After all, there were too many things occurring recently.
Maverick let out a cold and arrogant chuckle.
“Since when have you become so timid, Stanley? We punished that man last time and threw him to the black market to give them a warning. Do you think they still dare to go against us so blatantly?”
A major crisis almost occurred the previous time due to a moment of carelessness.
Although Maverick did not blame Stanley, the latter still went to Avalon to receive the harshest punishment.
Thus, Stanley was more cautious now. After all, if another incident happened, he would be too ashamed to work under
Maverick.
“I guess I was thinking too much.”
Chapter 12
As Stanley knew that Maverick would not easily change his mind, Stanley decided to transfer some men from Avalon over to the mansion secretly.
Maverick waved his hands nonchalantly before his deep voice rang out again.
“Go and call Felix to come here.”
“Yes, Mr. Rick,” Stanley replied with a nod and left.
A few minutes later, Felix knocked on the door of the study.
“Come in.”
Upon hearing the low voice from inside the room, Felix opened the door and walked in.
When he saw Maverick sitting behind the desk, he lowered his head and declared, “Mr. Mills, how may I help you?”
“Contact some people and replace women’s clothes of the newest style with these measurements from the mall and also get some comfortable maternity wear.”
Maverick tapped on a piece of paper on his desk, and written on it were Melody’s exact body measurements.
“Yes, Mr. Mills. I will prepare that later,” Felix answered, picking up the paper before folding it in half and holding it in his
hands.
“Pick two sensible maids, and tell the chef to prepare some nutritious meals for pregnant women.”
“Maternity wear? Nutritious meals for pregnant women? Is that lady pregnant? And with Mr. Mills‘ child?” Felix wondered.
However, he dared not ask, as he did not dare to speculate about his employer’s affairs.
He had worked at the mansion for more than five years, but he only met Maverick more often for the past two years. He rarely saw Maverick during the previous years.
Although he was experienced in the ways of the world, he could not tell the temperament of the young man before him, so he dared not speak out of turn.
Despite his young age. Maverick had an unusually imposing aura. Felix could not help but shudder.
“Should I tidy up another room for Ms. Tutlin to stay in?” Felix asked slowly, as he knew Maverick was a germaphobe.
He thought that Maverick would agree, but surprisingly, the latter refused without even thinking
“No need for that. Tell everyone to stay quiet for this period of time.”
“Yes.”
After Maverick finished giving his orders, Felix retreated from the study.
That night, Maverick did not return to the master bedroom to sleep.
In order to recover as soon as possible, Melody was obedient and cooperative.
The next morning, she woke up to the sound of footsteps. Rubbing her bleary eyes, she slowly sat up on the bed.
A sharp–eyed maid noticed she was awake and hurried over. “Miss, you’re awake. Do you want me to inform the kitchen to serve breakfast here?”
“What are you all doing?”
“The mall sent some clothes over this morning. The servants are currently taking those clothes to the walk–in closet.” Noticing Melody’s lack of enthusiasm, the maid suggested with sparkling eyes. “Why don’t I help you over to see? Those clothes are all the newest styles this season. They are all so beautiful.”
“Women’s clothes?”
“I thought it was custom–made clothes that man ordered for himself. Last night, the maid also told me I was staying in Mr. Rick’s bedroom. However, he didn’t come last night. I guess he doesn’t want to stay in the same room as me,” Melody mused. “Yes. Mr. Mills ordered Mr. Zimmer to prepare those clothes yesterday, and they were sent here immediately this morning. There are also some pretty maternity clothes.”
“Maternity clothes? That’s very thoughtful of him. It seems like he cares a lot about the babies in me,” Melody thought. Noticing that Melody was preparing to rise from the bed, the maid helped her up.
“What’s your name?”
“Miss, you can just call me Jenny
Upon hearing the way Jenny addressed her. Melody furrowed her beautiful brows and declared in displeasure, “Don’t call me miss anymore. I’m just a normal person. I’m Melody Tuffin. You can just call me by my name.”

“I can’t do that. If Mr. Zimmer replaces out, I will get punished,” Jenny replied, shaking her head repeatedly.
As if afraid Melody would mention this matter again, Jenny immediately found an excuse and left.
