Chapter 3
Chapter 31
Taking the unconscious Melody in his arms. Dylan stumbled into room 1817 and tossed Melody on the bed.
As a result, Melody’s head hit the bedside table, and her face scrunched up with pain, but Dylan was too excited to notice that.
The heavyweight pressing on top of her and the pain of hitting her head had awakened Melody. Some moment later, when she noticed what was going on, she started struggling by kicking around and shouting, “Get lost…”
“Pretty girl, stop struggling. I’ll make sure to please you if you be a good girl”
Melody’s mind went blank. She was horrified by the situation, and beads of sweat formed on her forehead.
No matter how hard she struggled against him, Melody still failed to break free from Dylan’s grasp. Then, to her horror, he ripped and tore her t–shirt.
Dylan was aroused just by looking at her, and he leaned closer.
Right then, Melody frantically grabbed a night lamp and slammed it against the man’s head.
Dylan hugged his head out of pain, and Melody finally found a way to escape from him. She hurriedly jumped out of bed from the other side.
Enraged, Dylan chased after her and grabbed her from behind before tossing her aside.
The pain was unbearable for Melody, but she stubbornly tried to climb toward the door.
Seeing that, Dylan grabbed her jaw and said fiercely, “Run all you want. I’d love to see how you can escape from me when your father has given you to me!”
Melody endured the pain while cursing inwardly at Joseph
Despite all the precautions she had taken, she still ended up in a trap. Joseph was heartless enough to treat her like this when she was his daughter.
Knowing that she could not break free from his grasp, Melody bit Dylan’s hand instead and refused to let go. It was as if she was determined to bite off the meat on his hand.
Rage surged through Dylan’s mind as he raised another hand and slapped Melody hard. “How dare you bite me! You’re asking for this.”
That slap sent Melody crashing against the wall. Unable to withstand the momentum, she slumped to the ground heavily
She heard something buzzing in her ears like a swarm of bees lingering next to her.
For a moment there, she thought she would surely die. However, her body was filled with energy when she got reminded of her mother. She shoved Dylan to the ground before staggering out of the room.
Dylan took some time to stand up from the ground, given his obesity. He chased after her, but Melody had already gotten
inside an elevator.
Watching the increasing number on the screen panel, Dylan saw the elevator stop on the 48th floor. He got reminded of the rumors surrounding the owner of the presidential suite in Utopia Hotel, and he could not replace the courage to head up there.
Seeing his prey had escaped, Dylan angrily kicked the elevator door and continued with a string of vulgarities as he walked
away.
Enduring her discomfort, Melody stepped out of the elevator. She was afraid that Dylan would be waiting for her on another floor, so she dared not hastily leave the elevator after it stopped.
There was no one in the corridor. Melody started walking along the aisle, but she soon noticed a door left ajar. She figured she could hide there for the time being since she was scantily clad.
Before she could open the door, someone from inside tugged at her arm and pulled her inside. The person then pressed her against the door.
Half an hour ago, Maverick was brought back to room 4888.
He was attending a business event that night, but his enemy managed to drug him when he was not paying attention.
They drugged him with Gentice, the strongest aphrodisiac, to embarrass and make him kneel and beg for their mercy.
He was locked in a cold and dark basement of Utopia Hotel with cameras installed everywhere. There were also dogs that were drugged beforehand inside the basement.
His enemy clearly wanted to take out him this time.
The dogs died when Stanley Carney arrived at the basement according to the GPS location detected by the ‘Spectrum”
Maverick’s eyes were bloodshot, with veins bulging on his forehead. He heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Stanley.

“Let’s go.” said Maverick in a hoarse yet authoritative tone.
Stanley nodded in response. He waved a hand and called over a subordinate. After putting a black coat on Maverick, he helped the latter leave the basement.
The situation was too urgent for them to rush to the hospital. Hence, Stanley sent Maverick back to the presidential suite on the top floor of the Utopia Hotel instead.
At that time, Maverick had already reached the limits of his endurance. After opening the suite door, he rushed into the bathroom and filled the bathtub with cold water before sinking inside.
The cold sensation had eased his feelings a little. Stanley told his subordinates to bring ice cubes to pour inside the bathtub.
The men then left the bathroom and closed the door behind them.
Looking at the tightly shut bathroom door, Stanley was afraid that Maverick would suffer from the drug’s effects, and he quickly called Harrison Cole.
“Hello, Mr. Cole. I have bad news.”
On the other end of the line. Harrison was leaning against the bar counter in his mansion. His smile broadened, curling his eyes behind his golden–rimmed glasses.
He appeared to have a carefree nature and laid–back personality, but he was also known as the Ghost Doctor for his brilliant medical and pharmacology skills and knowledge.
*Stanny, what’s the matter? Have you not learned how to stay calm from your time with Mr. Rick?”
“Things are a little tricky this time” Stanley was rendered speechless when he heard the way Harrison addressed him.
“Oh? I’m curious now. What would startle you when you’re known as Cold Slayer, the top international killer?”
Hearing that Harrison was still in the mood to tease him, Stanley got impatient and yelled, “Mr. Cole!”
Harrison moved his phone away and picked his ear. He then pressed the phone back to his ear and said. “Fine, fine. I’ll stop teasing you. Speak. What happened again this time?”
“Mr. Rick fell prey to a ploy. They drugged him with Gentice, and he’s now soaking himself in ice water.”
Gentice was the most potent aphrodisiac in this era. If one were drugged with it, the drug would trap the victim in an infinite loop of wild imaginations and desire.
The victim would die of exhaustion if there were no way for them to release their desire. Even if the victim did survive, they would have to suffer from the negative aftereffects.
“How much was the dosage?” Harrison frowned. He got down from his barstool and walked over to the window.
“I’m not sure either. He could still recognize me when we found him, but now…”
Harrison already knew the answer before Stanley could finish his sentence.
After a brief moment of silence, Stanley made a noise just to confirm if Harrison was still over the phone.
“Find him a woman,” said Harrison.
Stanley hesitated. “But Mr. Rick…
“If you don’t want Mr. Rick’s certain functions to be impaired, you’d better do as I told.”
Since Harrison had already made it clear, Stanley dared not drag on any longer.
Ending the phone call with Harrison in a hurry, Stanley called over a few men in black and headed outside to grab someone. Their footsteps were indescribably messy as they left in a hurry.
Wrapping his strong arms around the woman who suddenly walked into his suite, Maverick had reached the limits of his tolerance at that moment. The effects from the ice bath had already worn off, so he decided to step out of the bathroom. To his surprise, he found a woman in his suite instead.
“Urgh. Let go of me.” Melody was terrified by the sudden grip around her.
Maverick’s blue eyes were lustful as he dived into enjoying the feast for the eyes before him.
At first, Melody tried to struggle against him, but she soon noticed something was wrong with her physical reaction.
“Damn it! Not only did they spike my drink, but they also used aphrodisiac! It seems they are determined to ruin me today.” Melody exclaimed inwardly as hatred grew within her heart.
However, her body was soon occupied with another sensation. With the man closing in on her, she could not help but lean closer to him.
Maverick took Melody to his bedroom. Soon, indescribable sounds could be heard inside the room.

The atmosphere inside the room became more and more intimate.
When Stanley arrived inside the suite with a woman and his subordinates, he suddenly felt something was off. So, with a wave of his hand, he instructed his subordinates to bring the woman away,
The woman thought she could make a fortune when she arrived at the presidential suite of Utopia Hotel, yet she was taken away before she could do anything.
Of course, she was not willing to leave as she protested, “Hey. How can you not keep your words? You should know that our time is precious too.”
Stanley frowned when he heard her high–pitched voice. He took out a check from his pocket and signed it before tossing the check to the woman. “Get lost.”
The woman took the check and saw that it was 150 thousand dollars. She smiled widely at that amount. “All right. I’ll leave now. If there’s a similar request in the future, feel free to contact me again”
With that, she walked away while swaying her hips.
She even winked suggestively at Stanley before walking away.
After the woman left the suite, Stanley noticed the movements inside the bedroom were too loud for him to ignore. He rubbed his nose awkwardly and left.
At 4 a.m., Maverick woke up. Realizing a woman was sleeping next to him, his eyes dimmed a little when he got reminded of what happened earlier that night.
Without looking at the woman next to him, he put on his pants and walked out of the bedroom.
Stanley was waiting for him in the living room. Upon seeing Maverick, he quickly walked over and greeted, “Mr. Rick.”
He handed over a clean shirt to Maverick, and the latter put it on right away.
“Did you replace out who was behind this?”
“We’ve taken him back to Avalon awaiting your action, Mr. Rick.”
“Let’s go then. Get rid of the surveillance records here.”
“Understood.”
Maverick was about to leave when he suddenly thought of something and stopped in his tracks.
Stanley was a little perplexed to see that. “Mr. Rick, is there anything else?”
“Leave behind a 1.5 million dollars check here.”
That startled Stanley a little. “Understood.”
Maverick then left the suite without looking back.
At the break of dawn, an expensive private jet soared through the sky, leaving no trace behind the clouds moments later.
No one else was inside the room when Melody woke up the next day. The ache on her body reminded her of the actual events that took place last night.
She covered her mouth with her hand but still failed to silence her crying voice despite tightly biting the back of her palm. Thinking back to last night, she had no idea how many times the man had tortured her.
At that moment, Melody felt the world around her crippling down. She would never have expected her biological father to give her away to a man who was old enough to be her father.
Despite the lukewarm attitude she received from Joseph during the past ten years of living in the Tuffin residence, she still did not expecti
to treat her like this.
Half an hour later, Melody struggled to climb out of bed. She could feel a heart–wrenching pain coming from her feet when she stepped on the floor. It was as if her feet were no longer hers. Melody took a long while to adjust to the pain.
This was evidence that the man from last night had ruthlessly tortured her.
“What a monster!” she exclaimed inwardly.
A new set of clothes were placed on the side. She did not feel like wearing them at first, but when she saw her ripped dress under the bed, Melody could only get dressed. Surprisingly, the clothes perfectly fit her body, and even the bra size was
accurate.
After getting dressed, Melody walked around the suite and confirmed there was indeed no one else inside.
Unexpectedly, she found a wristwatch under the bathroom sink. She inspected it, noticing that the dial was covered in diamond and gold, and she guessed it must be valuable.
Since she had ruined Joseph’s plan, she doubted he would give him the money he promised her.

Much contemplation later, she finally decided to pocket the watch.
Stepping out of the bathroom, she found her purse on the couch in the living room. She opened it, seeing that her phone. and everything else were still inside.
Sure enough, there were many missed calls on her phone. Melody did not bother calling back to those numbers as she tossed her phone back inside her purse.
She hated that she did not see the man’s face clearly last night since it was too dark inside the room.
Little did she know, her frustration and anger had occupied her attention so much that she did not notice the 1.5 million dollars check on the bedside table.
