Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 228: Let him lose his reputation
Kisses in the night seem to be prone to be intensely erotic.
Eloise Thompson came to her senses when she realised she was pinned underneath Hector Rogers.
She placed her hand against his hard chest and tried to push him away.
Hector Rogers rose with intent, one eye gazing at her with deep, implacable restraint, "You sleep."
With that, he had pushed the door out and she heard the door to the next room being pulled open and closed again.
Lawson family.
Reeva Lawson was getting ready for bed when she received a message from her best friend and was so angry that she smashed things around the house. What was it with Matriarch Rogers, who had earlier claimed that she was the most desirable daughter-in-law in her heart, and now had changed her mind? She would not have known that Matriarch Rogers had dragged another woman on a blind date with Hector Rogers if her best friend had not told her. The commotion in the room provoked Reeva's mother to come over in a hurry.
Reeva's mother frowned, "What are you doing?"
"It's not Auntie Matriarch, she's so hateful when she says one thing to her face and does another."
Reeva's mother listened as Reeva Lawson set the record straight and became angry along with her.
She was silent for a long time, then thoughtfully advised, "Don't be in a hurry, go and probe her before you say anything."
Reeva Lawson tossed and turned and would have flown there in a heartbeat if it hadn't been so late.
The following day, she was also always distracted at work, and when she managed to get off work, she rushed to the Rogers family home with a gift. Matriarch Rogers saw that it was Reeva Lawson who had arrived and brought a smile to his face.
Reeva Lawson handed her the gift in her hand, "Auntie, you look beautiful again."
Matriarch Rogers raised his eyebrows and took Reeva Lawson's hand warmly, "Don't be so polite next time."
The two made small talk and Reeva Lawson took the opportunity to ask, "Auntie, I heard you took someone to see Hector."
Matriarch Rogers wasn't surprised that she would hear wind of it so quickly, "I had good intentions too."
What does that mean? Reeva Lawson looked over.
"Eloise Thompson was so close to Hector, something had to be done to distract him."
When Matriarch Rogers made this statement, Reeva Lawson understood it backwards.
With so many rich girls to meet over a long period of time and Matriarch Rogers to deal with, Hector Rogers can't concentrate on Eloise Thompson. Matriarch Rogers saw that Reeva Lawson and she were thinking of the same thing and with a twinkle in her eye, she said, "Think about it, there's no guarantee that Hector will pick the right one out of it." She gazed at Reeva Lawson with certainty, "You two were sort of childhood friends, and it was only natural that Hector would choose you."
Reeva Lawson's anger at Matriarch Rogers's comment was dissipated.
"You have always been the most desirable choice of daughter-in-law for my aunt." With that one more word, Reeva Lawson's doubts and misgivings were truly gone.
Before Reeva Lawson got up to leave, she heard Matriarch Rogers sigh again, "I have such good intentions, but only for Hector's happiness."
She hastened to respond with emotion, "Hector he will always appreciate your piece of mind."
Matriarch Rogers personally escorted her out.
When she returned to the Lawson family, she had only been sitting down for a short time, and as she thought about it, Reeva Lawson became more and more convinced that it didn't add up. In doing so, Matriarch Rogers has also laid down a pitfall.
What if Hector Rogers does pick one of those people he just met at random?
Reeva Lawson's eyes locked as a surge of resentment rose up.
No, she had to think of something else, she couldn't end up with two empty heads.
She thought about how she had been so devoted to Hector Rogers, and how he had only ever seen Eloise Thompson. A pang of resentment rose up in her heart.
On what grounds!
She was ignored and left behind time and time again, even on the one occasion when she went abroad, and was mercilessly left out to dry.
In the midst of the intense anger, a terrible thought suddenly popped up.
Since she could not have it, she would rather have it broken.
Yes, she's going to ruin Hector Rogers, she wants him to lose his reputation.
This was not enough, she wanted him to never forget her, she wanted him to hate her.
Hector Rogers has always acted in a thunderous manner in the business world and has offended many people who have tried to bring him down, and there are countless others. Reeva Lawson had a tentative plan in mind, a sinister and calculating look on her lips, and actually slept well all night.
The next day. She went to work on a rare occasion refreshed.
However, her mind was shaken again when she saw Hector Rogers' office as president.
Hector Rogers is the man she loves with all her heart, and perhaps she can wait a little longer for him to come around.
With this in mind, she began to look forward to it again, and even began to imagine a better life for them as husband and wife, living under the same roof.
The phone in front of her, rang abruptly, startling her.
She looked down and saw that it was an intercom, Hector Rogers for her?
She looked forward to picking up the phone and heard him say coldly, "Come in for a minute."
Reeva Lawson hurriedly reached for the mirror hidden in the drawer and straightened her appearance in the mirror before walking in with a smile on her face. Hector Rogers didn't raise his eyes when he heard the movement, just a silent, "You sit first."
When he had finished with the paperwork at hand, he asked coldly, "By the way, do you have any more questions, at work?"
Reeva Lawson mistook him for someone who cared about her and a smile spread under her eyes, "With your careful guidance from Hector, I'm fine for now."
"You are now comfortable enough in your job to hold your own. With your abilities, it wouldn't be difficult to take over the Lawson family." Hector Rogers said dryly. He, sure of himself?
Reeva Lawson's head was as sweet as honey.
The fact that she was able to get his approval was enough to make her happy for a long time.
Hector Rogers added coldly, "You're so good, you don't need to learn anything from me."
Reeva Lawson's heart had not yet dispelled its joy, but it froze instantly.
"I've asked Thomas Ward to replace a replacement for you, so you won't have to come in tomorrow." With that, Hector Rogers went back to work.
Reeva Lawson opened her mouth but couldn't say anything.
She couldn't figure out how he could have kicked her out for no reason, and thinking left and right, there was only one possibility, and that was Eloise Thompson. Did Eloise Thompson say something about her in front of him?
There was a flash of anger in Reeva Lawson's eyes, which was quickly concealed again.
What she needs, as a matter of urgency, is to fight for the opportunity to stay, "Hector, I am still inexperienced and have a lot to learn from you."
"No need, you go back, our two families operate in a different way, not the same way."
Hector Rogers' tone was firm, and she was even more indignant when she saw how cold his face was.
"I have a meeting to attend." Hector Rogers looked down at the clock and actually ignored her and just walked away.
