Love Comes To Me
Chapter 232: Stronger when you meet stronger

Eloise Thompson gives a sideways, light smile, "Putting some pressure on yourself properly can drive you forward."

Egbert Chumley was stunned, then enlightened, but not before saying, "No wonder they say the harder you work, the faster you improve." She was just about to speak, this time, when she met Reeva Lawson's eyes.

Eloise Thompson noticed a twinkle in Reeva Lawson's eye and a vague hint of amusement.

It was not clear what Reeva Lawson had said to Kevin, and Kevin's scowling eyes, at once, fell on her.

Now that Kevin had seen him, Egbert Chumley simply led Eloise Thompson forward.

"Kevin, it's been a long time." Egbert Chumley was the first to extend his hand and shake Kevin's warmly.

Kevin was also happy to see a friend he hadn't seen in a while and exchanged a few pleasantries.

"This is ...," Kevin volunteered, asking about Eloise Thompson, who stepped aside.

Eloise Thompson nodded and introduced herself, "Hi Kevin, I'm Eloise Thompson from JS Creative Company."

Kevin had seen the initial proposal sent to him by JS Creative Company and it was indeed the most desirable one.

Whether the specific plan is perfect, however, is another story.

Eloise Thompson was undaunted by Kevin's cold attitude and was unfazed.

Several people climbed into conversation, with no one actively mentioning the project.

Eloise Thompson would still like to have a chance to deal with Kevin on his own if the opportunity arises.

Reeva Lawson, who seems to have seen through Eloise Thompson's intentions, lamented, "The Lawson Group has met two formidable opponents for this project, Miss Eloise and Mr Egbert, you'll have to give me the benefit of the doubt." "It's Miss Reeva who should be making us, who doesn't know that your company, Owen Planners, is the second leading company in the industry." Egbert Chumley said politely.

Without waiting for Reeva Lawson to say anything else, Egbert Chumley added, with a gentleman's smile, "Miss Reeva, when you meet your opponents, you should be sympathetic. Since you are so determined to win this, we at the Chumley Group are no less so."

Reeva Lawson was contemptuous. She had already searched out that Egbert Chumley was not very interested in the project.

He said this only to help Eloise Thompson in person.

I don't know what it is about Eloise Thompson that makes them so enamoured in turn.

Reeva Lawson's secret resentment and anger almost showed on her face.

"We'll see what happens then." Reeva Lawson said with a polite flourish.

They spoke for so long, and in favour of Eloise Thompson not saying a word, Reeva Lawson's eyes fell firmly on her, "Why doesn't Miss Eloise take a stand?"

Eloise Thompson smiled: "Lawson Group and Chumley Group, both industry leaders, and we at JS Group, who have only recently started, should be on the sidelines."

Kevin, however, gave a sneer, "Oh? I didn't really hear them say that there was anything for you to learn."

This was a very raw statement on his part.

Eloise Thompson had to smile and didn't say much.

Egbert Chumley, seeing Kevin's bad attitude, had the intention to help Eloise Thompson and said with a deliberate smile, "Kevin, you and I have such a good personal relationship, why don't you just give us the promotion rights for the sake of our years of friendship?"

Kevin could see that he was joking and couldn't help but snark back, "What's the matter? You have two competitors in front of you, both ladies, and you have the nerve to grab them?"

Reeva Lawson, fearing that they had reached an agreement, said, "Yes, Mr Egbert, that would be unkind of you. We at the Lawson Group have been planning this for a long time." Eloise Thompson saw her finish and couldn't stop staring at herself, so she had to stiffen up and take over, "Since we're all involved in the planning, we might as well play fair." Reeva Lawson gave her a contemptuous look, it was hypocritical to put on a modest face in front of Kevin.

"Kevin, we'll get the plans over here as soon as we can and we'll make sure you're happy with them." Reeva Lawson smiled proudly, confident at first glance.

Kevin nodded in satisfaction, complimenting Reeva Lawson on her good nature.

"By the way, Miss Eloise, you've always worked hard, so I'm sure you're aiming for the same thing this time?" Reeva Lawson didn't forget to test Eloise Thompson's mettle. Eloise Thompson, who has never been one to talk too much in front of people, "will naturally compete to the best of her ability and if she loses, she'll accept it."

On hearing this, Kevin mistook Eloise Thompson's perfunctory approach to the project and he grimaced.

Coupled with Reeva Lawson's overheard revelations about Eloise Thompson's highly promiscuous personal life, he taunted, "You're the head of JS Group and this is your attitude?"

Eloise Thompson saw the sudden change in Kevin's expression and knew he was afraid he had misunderstood.

Before she could explain, Reeva Lawson added fuel to the fire, "Miss Eloise, so you're not thinking of giving it your all."

Kevin smiled coldly and said in a hard tone, "I wouldn't dare hand over the ad to you."

"Kevin, you're afraid you've been misunderstood." Eloise Thompson caught a glimpse of Reeva Lawson's smug scowl and realised she had been set up.

She rushed to round up the situation for herself, "Our company has always been strong when we meet strong people."

Several people listened attentively as Eloise Thompson continued, "Although it is true that our company is relatively junior compared to our credentials. However, your company was willing to look at our proposal, so I'm sure you've heard how strong our first three issues were in terms of promotion."

Kevin snorted, "It's just consuming popular stars."

Historically, advertising has been promoted by hiring popular celebrities to endorse them accordingly, which indeed every planning company can do, as long as the funds are available.

"But... if the promotion efforts are pushed on all fronts at the same time, I'm afraid that the celebrity's fame alone is not enough."

When Eloise Thompson talks about her work, her whole being seems to glow.

Kevin's originally cold face eased up a little, "We'll see then, I hope you can all surprise me."

Egbert Chumley glanced at Eloise Thompson, "Eloise's planning skills are some of the best in the business. I'm really holding back a bit, Kevin, are you really not going to give us the project straight away for the sake of your friendship and mine?"

Kevin laughed and said, "Egbert Chumley, even if you want to play the sentimental card, you should do it in private."

At this point, the host on stage mentioned Kevin and the eyes of the crowd fell on him at once.

With a quick "I'm not opening the back door for you", Kevin made his way to the stage.

The fundamental purpose of the reception was to open up the domestic market for cosmetics, and Kevin took this promotion very seriously.

He made a point of briefly introducing their product and even made a public statement, saying categorically, "Everyone in the room can enthusiastically participate in this competition for the plan, and we will choose whoever has the most perfect plan."

"Of course, it's only for three days." Kevin added promptly.

"Eloise, I thought I was bound to lose to you earlier." Egbert Chumley said with a smile to Eloise Thompson, "It looks like this is a chance we won't even necessarily have."

Eloise Thompson was instantly amused and Egbert Chumley seemed a lot funnier today.
