Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 237: The Daddy Who Has No Presence
"Shhh! Stop it, be careful you get overheard." The man was still chattering and cursing.
Although she cursed out the crowd, someone was kind enough to remind them.
"What are you afraid of, she can insult us in public and we can't say a few words?"
Reeva Lawson was just coming towards the planning department when she heard their curses, and her face changed as she walked towards them.
"The company pays you well, it's not telling you to come here for a tea party." Did the group really want to be fired?
The people in the planning department, who had already had enough of her foul temper, immediately tried to shake it off.
And someone in the secretary's office, at the first opportunity, informed Reeva's father.
Reeva's father was on his way here to see what was going on, but he didn't expect to see anything like this.
He came in with a serious look and everyone in the planning department greeted him respectfully.
Reeva's father apologised to them on behalf of Reeva Lawson: "Reeva the child has just returned from abroad and is inevitably a bit high-minded, so please bear with me."
"Mr Tristan, you're welcome, we're the ones who should be helping Reeva more." The staff at the bottom said.
"You come with me." With that, Reeva's father took the lead and headed towards Reeva Lawson's office.
Reeva Lawson followed in disbelief as she asked in exasperation, "You are the president of the Lawson Group, why do you have to stoop so low?"
Reeva's father's face was condensed as he explained the reason for this: "They are all elites whom I have hired for a lot of money, but everyone who is capable has a temper to some extent." The more capable you are, the more polite you have to be to them, otherwise they will say go when their temper gets the better of them.
Reeva Lawson scoffed, "Did they think they could go somewhere better by leaving Owen Planners?"
Reeva's father, seeing that she hadn't snapped out of it, chided her in a deep voice, "It seems you really haven't learned what it takes to be an outstanding leader around Hector Rogers." When Reeva Lawson heard the words "Hector Rogers", she was not happy.
"And you won't let me mention him?" Reeva's father advised at length, "Isn't Eloise Thompson busy fighting you for this project?"
He reminded Reeva Lawson that she should ask Hector Rogers out to dinner at this time.
Perhaps she could still have a chance to take advantage of it, or perhaps pry into some of the details of Eloise Thompson's programme.
Reeva Lawson immediately agreed and was ready to go over after work.
Towards the end of the day.
Linn Dail sorted out the information as Eloise Thompson had requested, "Miss Eloise, you really need to get off work early tonight, if you stay up any longer, you're going to be sick." Eloise Thompson responded vaguely, but actually planned to stay and work on it for a while.
She had just opened the file when Hector Rogers' call came in.
"Eloise, I've got an emergency meeting on my end and Solomon's grandparents are out, so I'll have to ask you to pick up Solomon."
Eloise Thompson immediately said, "It's fine, I'm done on my end, I'll be right over."
"Well, come along to the office after you pick up." Hector Rogers instructed her without fail.
When she hung up the phone, Eloise Thompson dropped what she was doing and went to pick up Solomon.
Solomon followed the teacher, originally in an extremely depressed mood because all the children in the class had been picked up.
As soon as he saw Eloise Thompson, he ended up with a big smile on his face and even more so when he hurriedly ran into Eloise Thompson's arms.
As soon as the teacher saw a panting Eloise Thompson running, she said gently, "I've never seen anyone come to pick up Solomon who was so happy."
Eloise Thompson laughed: "I'm really sorry about that, I left immediately after the father spoke to me, but there was a bit of traffic before I got delayed." The teacher smiled and said it was okay. Solomon volunteered to say goodbye to the teacher and followed Eloise Thompson to the Rogers Group. Eloise Thompson took Solomon's hand and marched in, and no one even stopped them.
She and Solomon made their way unhindered to the office of Hector Rogers' president.
Thomas Ward was coming towards it, saw them and said as he hurriedly fetched the papers, "Miss Eloise and Master Solomon wait, Mr Hector will need a while to finish his meeting." Eloise Thompson nodded and Solomon took it upon himself to pull out of his little school bag the craft work the teacher had left for the day.
"What is Solomon planning to do?" Curious, she padded over and watched as Solomon pulled out one material or another as if by magic. Solomon describes each one: "This one is a golden onion, this one is coloured paper and this one is a paper plate..."
He said again, quite divinely, "The teacher asked us to make a super beautiful paste-up picture on a paper plate."
He was so excited to get started on his craft that Eloise Thompson stopped interrupting and just took over Hector Rogers' desk and got busy.
By the end of the day, her plan, which was already tentatively complete, only needed a few minor details to be rectified before it was ready.
She threw herself carefully and intently into her work, organising the information and revising it as she went along.
Hector Rogers' face was cloudy before he came in, but when he stepped into the office and saw a small and large group of people each absorbed in their own worlds, his face turned cloudy and he smiled.
Thomas Ward followed behind him, finally relieved. Earlier, in the conference room, they had been about to die from his low pressure.
Hector Rogers, with a warm look on his face and without disturbing them, came in for a long time without them noticing his presence in the slightest.
Until ...
Eloise Thompson finished the planning thoroughly and only when she looked up did she see him standing in front of her.
"You..." looking at him, he should have been in for a long time, and was a little apologetic, "When did you finish your work? Why didn't you call me?"
"I wouldn't dare interrupt if you guys were that serious." Hector Rogers smiled, "Have you guys eaten yet?"
Solomon had finished pasting the painting and rubbed his nearly hungry tummy, "Daddy, Solomon is dying of hunger."
"Come on then, Daddy will take you all out for some good food." Hector Rogers bent down to help him pack his school bag.
Eloise Thompson has casually organised her materials and stacked them neatly on her desk.
She went over to help Solomon with his school bag and Solomon ducked to the side, "Our teacher said to do your own thing."
She couldn't help but smile at each other with Hector Rogers and said in unison, "Fine, fine, you're on your own."
Solomon moved sharply, put his school bag on his back and took the paste-up again and brought it to Eloise Thompson, "Auntie Eloise, the teacher said that after you take it to nursery tomorrow, you can still bring it back to the person who wants it most."
Solomon, fearing she hadn't understood, added seriously, "Solomon is for Auntie Eloise!"
Hector Rogers: ?
He's so non-existent as a daddy too.
However, Solomon is happy that he likes Eloise so much.
Finally, the three left the office laughing and giggling.
