Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 266: Getting people out
With a new environment and a heavy heart, Eloise Thompson tossed and turned in bed until slightly after dawn.
It was noon when I woke up.
After a good night's sleep, one is much more comfortable and one's mind is much clearer.
Now that she has chosen to leave, it's time to let go and not get caught up in a relationship that doesn't belong to her.
She raised a hand to pat her cheek and lifted the corner of her lips, "That's right, no more decadence, I'm still waiting to earn my mother's treatment."
After washing up and getting changed, Eloise Thompson headed out the door.
She had to get a job, and once she was busy, she wouldn't think about that anymore.
...
Most of the month has passed and still no news at all.
Hector Rogers' temper was getting more and more violent by the day, and he would get angry at every turn, causing everyone up and down the company to be on edge for fear of making a mistake and having the fire come down on them. Even Hector Rogers' assistants were trembling with fear.
If you continue like this, you will really shorten your life span.
The assistant wept silently in his heart, but he still had to report on the work that needed to be reported.
"President, this is the Group's financial statement for this month."
The assistant placed the statement carefully on the desk, looked at the man standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window and gingerly turned to leave. "Wait."
The assistant's heart lifted at the sudden sound of the voice.
"President, what else do you have in mind?"
"Get Mr Rupert in here."
It turned out to be a request for Mr Rupert.
The assistant sighed with relief and responded, "I'm on my way."
Then leave in a hurry.
Unable to replace Eloise Thompson, Rupert Rogers was so worried that his hair was turning white, and even more so when he heard his brother wanted him. There was also some fear.
These days, because he can't replace out anything about Eloise Thompson, his brother's temper is getting more and more violent, just like a flammable and explosive bomb, which will blow up in his face if he is not careful. Although scared, he went dutifully.
As soon as you walk into the president's office, you can smell the smoke in the air.
A very big smell.
Rupert Rogers looked at the ashtray sitting on the coffee table, so full of cigarette butts that it wouldn't even fit and had fallen outside.
Rupert Rogers smacked his lips, how many packs of cigarettes does that take?
Did his brother not want to die?
He walked over to Hector Rogers, "Brother, I know you're upset, but you can't smoke like that, can you? It'll kill you."
"Is there any point in me taking a life when Eloise is gone?"
Hector Rogers turned his head and looked at him sullenly.
The corner of Rupert Rogers' mouth twitched, "Okay, I know my sister-in-law is more important than your life. But you can't spoil yourself like that, how guilty your sister-in-law would be if she knew." "How can she know if people can't be found?"
"Well, forget I said that." Rupert Rogers rubbed his nose sardonically.
"Any news yet?" Hector Rogers asked.
"No."
The expected answer.
Hector Rogers closes his eyes, his thin lips pursed into a straight line.
He didn't know how many times he had heard this for most of the month, from anxious at the beginning, to angry, to calm and unruffled now, hell knows what he had gone through. Despite his calm demeanour, Rupert Rogers knew he must be feeling badly.
"Don't worry, brother, I'll help you replace your sister-in-law." Rupert Rogers patted him on the shoulder, reassuringly.
Hector Rogers opened his eyes, they were dark as ink, without a hint of light, "She has a mind to hide, do you think she can replace it?"
"As long as she's still in this world, she can be found, unless she's already ..."
Rupert Rogers did not dare to go further as his brother's face turned hard.
"She won't." Hector Rogers said with a tone of certainty, "There's no way she'd do something stupid with her mother around."
"That's not right." Rupert Rogers sighed and patted him on the shoulder again, "Don't worry, I'll replace the man."
Hector Rogers looked at him for a moment, then averted his eyes to look out the floor-to-ceiling window, eyes so deep that it was impossible to read his mind at that moment. "Brother, I'm leaving, you'd better smoke less, it hurts your health."
Rupert Rogers was gone before Reeva Lawson was here.
"Miss Reeva, the president said he didn't want to see anyone." The assistant cut Reeva Lawson off.
Reeva Lawson glanced at the president's office with the door closed and smiled warmly, "I'm not an outsider, how could Hector not see me?"
With those words, she pushed her assistant aside and walked straight to the president's office.
"Miss Reeva..."
The assistant tried to go up to stop it, but it was too late.
Reeva Lawson opened the door, turned her head and smiled at him, then walked in.
The smell of smoke hit her and Reeva Lawson rushed to cover her nose, her eyebrows wrinkling hard.
When I looked up, I saw Hector Rogers standing right in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
She walked over to the coffee table and her eyes filled with surprise when she saw the ashtray full of cigarette butts.
Remember he doesn't smoke much, how come he smokes so much?
Is it because of the woman?
She was so upset that even though the woman had left, it still managed to affect his mood.
Was that woman that important to him?
Reeva Lawson clenched her fists and her face, depicted with delicate make-up, twisted a little, she really wasn't happy about it!
But soon she collected all her thoughts and, with a look of tender concern, walked over to Hector Rogers.
"Hector, are you all right?"
Hector Rogers turned his head, his gaze cold as a vantage point, "What brings you here?"
His voice was cold, without a hint of emotional ups and downs.
Reeva Lawson was a little hurt, but smiled and said, "I came to see you. I heard about Miss Eloise and was worried about you."
"Go back." Hector Rogers spat two cold words out of his thin lips.
Was he so reluctant to see her?
The smile on Reeva Lawson's face became a little forced, "Hector, I know you've been in a bad mood for a while, but you need to take care of your health and not smoke so much..."
"I said go back." Hector Rogers' tone intensified a few notches, and one could sense some impatience.
"Hector ..."
Reeva Lawson tried to say something else, but Hector Rogers wasn't listening and went straight to the intercom.
"Wasn't it explained not to let anyone in?"
He practically yelled it out, and the assistant on the other end of the phone was so frightened that he hastily apologised, "I'm sorry, President."
"Come in and get the people out."
Behind him, Reeva Lawson heard the words and her eyes widened abruptly, that he had ordered someone to come and get rid of her.
What exactly did he take her for?
All at once, the long-accumulated discontent came flooding back.
"Hector, you're going too far! I was worried about you and came over to care for you, and you want to throw me out. What on earth is so good about that Eloise Thompson woman that it makes you so depressed." "Not only did she cheat on her fiancé, but she also had a child out of wedlock, is that the kind of woman that deserves this?"
"You disappoint me so much, Hector. you are no longer the man who killed it at the mall!"
