Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 272: She's the one on the tip of his heart
That evening, Hector Rogers returned home, saw Synnove Fare there, and with a sunken gaze, turned and left straight away.
At the sight of this, Synnove Fare's face turned instantly ugly.
"Hector, where are you going?" Hector's mother chased after him.
"Go home." Hector Rogers didn't even look at his mother as the two words spilled out of his mouth coldly.
Walked to the door just as Rupert Rogers returned.
He saw his brother coming out and asked in wonder, "Brother, where are you going?"
Without replying, Hector Rogers walked straight around him and out.
Rupert Rogers didn't know what was going on and stopped Hector's mother who was about to chase him out, "Mum, what's wrong with my brother?" "Don't pull me."
Hector's mother slapped his hand away, not bothering to answer him, and rushed after her eldest son.
"What's going on here?"
Rupert Rogers frowned in bewilderment.
It wasn't until I walked into the house and saw the Synnove Fare in the living room that it hit me.
I dare say his mother is still not dead and still wants to stuff women to his brother.
He grimaced, looking like it was another wasted effort.
"Hector Rogers, stand still!"
Hector's mother, after all, was a bit old and was a bit out of breath after a few steps, so she bellowed at Hector Rogers who was walking away.
Hector Rogers was obedient enough to stand his ground.
Hector's mother hurried up to him and walked in front of him, glaring at him disgruntled, "Hector, what do you mean by that?"
Hector Rogers did not speak.
Hector's mother took a deep breath, stifled it, and said kindly, "It's been a long time since you've had dinner with me, and your father, which is why I asked you to come home today."
These days, because of what happened to Eloise, he does neglect his parents and his children.
So Hector Rogers spoke up and said, "Mom, it's okay to have dinner with you guys, but not that woman."
"Synnove was my invited guest."
"A guest?" Hector Rogers snorted, "Mum, I told you, I only want Eloise Thompson for the rest of my life, I won't even look at anyone else."
At the mention of Eloise Thompson, Hector's mother's anger flared up, "Eloise ThompsonEloise Thompson, what's so good about that woman? Is she as good as Synnove, as good as Whisper?" Hector Rogers looked at her with a deep gaze and said clearly, word for word, "In my eyes, she is better than any woman."
"Is it even acceptable to you that she had a child with someone else?"
This is the most unacceptable part of Hector's mother's life. A woman who has had children and is married is no better than a woman who has had children.
The Rogers family could not, in any way, accept a daughter-in-law with such a past.
"Mum, don't forget, I'm having a baby too."
"That's not the same!" Hector's mother grimaced, "You're a man, she's a woman, what's the comparison."
Because she was his mother, he had chosen to put up with whatever she did or said, but now he couldn't stand it a bit.
There is nothing in her words that is not derogatory to Eloise.
Eloise was too dear to his heart to be belittled in this way, even if it was his own mother.
"Mum, you're a woman too, so why do you have to target Eloise like that?"
"I ..."
Hector's mother, unable to speak for a moment, could only reiterate her point: "Anyway, I won't accept that woman, and she won't get into the Rogers family." Hector Rogers gasped, "Fine. She can't enter the Rogers family, so I'll exit the Rogers family."
At this comment, Hector's mother was shocked, "What do you mean?"
"Literally."
Hector Rogers, not wanting to continue arguing with his mother on the matter, walked straight around her and towards the car a short distance away.
"Hector ..." Hector's mother tried to go after him to ask for clarification but was stopped by Rupert Rogers who came over.
"Mum, don't you go. You'll only anger my brother if you go after him again."
Hector's mother was furious, "Rupert, what the hell does your brother mean? He's not trying to join the Thompson family, is he?"
What Hector Rogers said was also heard by Rupert Rogers and, to be honest, he was a little surprised.
Given his brother's personality, it's not impossible that this could happen.
"Mum, don't push too hard, just let everything happen."
His persuasion did not make Hector's mother less angry, but more angry.
"Let nature take its course? Should we just let him marry that woman? Do you think that woman is worthy of your brother?"
When Hector's mother got so agitated, Rupert Rogers said, "Mum, it's useless to be angry with me. You know how my brother is. Who can change what he has decided to do?"
It is because of this that Hector's mother is so angry.
Had the eldest son actually been allowed to marry that woman, the Rogers family would have been reduced to the talk of high society after dinner.
It was fine for her to be pointed at, but the thought of Solomon being talked about behind her back too was too much for her to bear.
"No!" Hector's mother shook her head, "I have to stop them being together."
"Mum, why are you being so stubborn?" Rupert Rogers looked at her helplessly.
"Later you will know that it is good for me to be stubborn."
Rupert Rogers cried, "Mum, I just know you're going to lose my brother if you keep being so stubborn. Besides, what's wrong with Eloise Thompson? She's beautiful, capable, and filial, isn't that great?" "Just the fact that she's had children makes all the other conditions useless."
Rupert Rogers took a deep breath, "Mum, have you ever wondered what the reason is for her not being married?"
"For whatever reason, having a child out of wedlock is just bad."
Come on, he's just fucking stubborn anyway.
"Mum, let me warn you beforehand, don't go too far with things or you'll regret it."
"I'll only regret it if I let your brother marry that woman."
Hector's mother didn't listen to him at all and gave him a stern look before walking indignantly into the house.
Rupert Rogers rubbed his nose sardonically and let it go, as the final outcome was obvious anyway.
His brother would definitely have married Eloise Thompson.
...
Hector Rogers had just returned to his home when Solomon called.
"Daddy, aren't you coming to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner?"
Hearing Solomon's milky voice calmed Hector Rogers down a little.
"Daddy will come over some other time."
"Oh."
Solomon was quiet for a moment before he spoke again, "Daddy, I miss Mummy."
Hector Rogers' heart clenched, "I'd like to."
His voice was a little husky, like he was holding something back.
"Then daddy call and ask mummy to come back soon, will you? Just say that Solomon misses her."
"Hmm."
There came the sound of the maid calling out to Solomon to eat, and Solomon hurriedly admonished again, "Daddy must remember to fight." "Daddy remembers."
When he said yes, Solomon hung up the phone, satisfied.
Hector Rogers took down his phone, a bitter smile filling the corners of his lips; how could he call Eloise when he didn't even know where she was? Tossing his phone on the table, he sat down on the sofa and tilted his head back to close his eyes, hiding the frustration underneath.
Eloise, where the hell are you?
