Love Comes To Me -
Chapter 291: Accepting You as God Daughter
Hector's parents were very polite and kept greeting her with food.
And with Rupert Rogers talking about all sorts of interesting things to keep the mood going, the meal was a thrilling one for Eloise Thompson.
After dinner, Hector Rogers was called to the study by Hector's father and Rupert Rogers took Solomon outside to play.
Eloise Thompson, who had been left behind, thought about going to her room but was called by Hector's mother.
"Miss Eloise, come and sit down for a while."
She could only smile and nod, "Good."
Hector's mother was the first to sit down on the sofa, and when she stood still, she beckoned her, "Come and sit down."
Eloise Thompson walked over and took a seat on the single sofa diagonally opposite Hector's mother.
The atmosphere was quiet for a while.
Eloise Thompson's head was bowed and her hands in her lap were clasped together, revealing her nervousness.
I don't know how long it took before Hector's mother uttered, "Miss Eloise ..."
Before the words were out of her mouth, Eloise Thompson said hastily, "Auntie, you can call me Eloise."
Hector's mother was stunned, then laughed lightly and didn't refuse, "Okay, I'll call you Eloise. I'll call you Eloise. It's a bit awkward to keep calling her Miss Eloise." Eloise Thompson smiles.
Hector's mother thought for a moment and then said, "You're a nice girl and I quite like it."
On hearing such words, Eloise Thompson had a bad feeling in her heart.
As it happens, the next thing you hear is Hector's mother saying, "I know all about your past." Got it all?
Eloise Thompson's eyes widened abruptly and she subconsciously spoke, "Aunty, I..."
"You don't have to be nervous." Hector's mother raised her hand to stop her words, "I told you you were a good girl, you couldn't have done something like that if you weren't desperate, could you?" Hector's mother looked at her tenderly.
Eloise Thompson nodded, "Right."
But if Josh Thompson had been willing to take some money out to save his mother back then, she wouldn't have gone into any surrogacy and wouldn't have been forced to separate from her own child.
"I mentioned before that I wanted to take you as my goddaughter, and I meant it. I wonder if you would like to?"
Eloise Thompson smiles bitterly inwardly at how the matter has been brought up again.
Hector's mother would not be happy if she answered no.
If the answer was yes, then what had become of her and Hector.
Just as she was in a quandary, Hector's mother suddenly smiled, "Actually, I know you don't want to, do you?"
"I'm sorry, Auntie."
Hector's mother shook her head, "You don't have to apologize. In fact, your uncle and I are not unreasonable people, but you know how the Rogers family is, how many people are staring to see the Rogers family's jokes, and if you and Hector get married, then... that Rogers family will really become the talk of the day. The talk of the town."
Hector's mother said so much in one breath, and Eloise Thompson listened with a hardened heart.
For the Rogers family, she really wasn't worthy of Hector Rogers.
That's why she chose to leave.
Had it not been for Solomon, she would not have returned, and Hector Rogers would have taken as his wife the woman Hector's mother preferred.
In this way, the Rogers family remains the same awe-inspiring Rogers family.
When she didn't say anything, Hector's mother sighed and said, "Eloise, Hector is just as stubborn as his father and will not change what he has decided. So I hope you can understand your aunt's pain." Eloise Thompson forced a smile, "Auntie, I understand. I know what I have to do."
Hector's mother gave a satisfied smile, "Aunty believes you."
"Mom, what are you guys talking about?"
Rupert Rogers walked in holding Solomon and was startled to see his mother and Eloise Thompson both sitting alone in the living room, his mother wasn't trying to embarrass his sister-in-law again, was she? He hurried over and asked, putting on a relaxed and casual look.
"Didn't talk about anything." Hector's mother smiled back.
Rupert Rogers looked at his mother and then at Eloise Thompson and was secretly relieved to replace that it didn't seem as serious as he had thought.
"Mummy." Solomon flung himself into the arms of Eloise Thompson.
Eloise Thompson pets his head with a doting touch.
Hector's mother was a bit upset when she saw how close she was to Solomon, as soon as Eloise Thompson arrived, there were no more grandparents in Solomon's eyes.
It's so tasty for them as grandparents to open and shut their mouths about Mummy.
"Solomon come here." Hector's mother greeted Solomon.
But Solomon was resting in Eloise Thompson's arms and wouldn't go over.
Eloise Thompson looked down at him and whispered, "Go over to Grandma's."
It was only when she spoke that Solomon reluctantly walked up to Hector's mother.
Hector's mother took him into her arms and said with a smile, "Solomon, you can't call Auntie Eloise Mummy anymore."
At this comment, Rupert Rogers raised an eyebrow, and lo and behold, what was to come was to come.
He subconsciously glanced over towards Eloise Thompson, who looked calm and unmistakable.
"Why?" Solomon tilted his head and looked at Hector's mother.
"Because she and your father are not married, not husband and wife, you can't call Mummy."
Solomon frowned, "But in my mind, she's my mummy."
"Solomon, you're going to give your Auntie Eloise a hard time for shouting like that. How can she have a child your age when she's not married?"
"But isn't Daddy not married either? But then he has kids my age?"
Hector's mother was gagged for a moment.
"Hahahaha ..." Rupert Rogers burst out laughing, "Mom, I can't believe you can't even talk to a kid."
"Shut up!" Hector's mother gave him an unpleasant glare before turning to Solomon, "Solomon, your daddy is a boy and Auntie Eloise is a girl, it's not the same." Solomon was a total curiosity and asked innocently, "What's different?"
"It's ..."
Hector's mother didn't know how to explain it either.
At this point, Eloise Thompson spoke up, "Solomon, listen to Grandma and don't call me Mummy in future."
"Doesn't Mummy like it either?" Solomon turned his head to look at her.
How could she not like it?
It's just that Hector's mother had said that to her face, and she couldn't possibly not say something.
Eloise Thompson could only smile, "You're right to listen to your grandmother."
"I don't want it." Solomon refused.
Then he pushed Hector's mother's hand away, rushed into her arms, tilted his head up and said with particular determination, "I'm just going to call you Mummy, you're my Mummy." "Solomon!" reprimanded Hector's mother in a somewhat displeased voice.
When did this child get so disobedient.
"If I don't want it, I don't want it." Solomon turned his head away, not wanting to pay attention to Hector's mother.
Seeing that the situation was a bit off, Rupert Rogers, fearing that his mother might take it out on Eloise Thompson, hastened to say, "Mum, Solomon's used to shouting and it won't change for a while, so give him some time to get used to it." "Used to it? Can't change?" Hector's mother frowned, "How long has it been yelling?"
"Don't worry, Auntie, I'll get Solomon to change." Eloise Thompson said.
She really didn't want to cause Hector's mother to be upset again because of herself.
"Eloise, it's you who understands Auntie." Hector's mother smiled at her.
Eloise Thompson tugged at the corners of her mouth, but her heart was already in a hundred different places.
