Chapter 20

Savanna's voice was so loud that it was almost roaring.

"Whatever."

The man threw her two words and said in a cold voice, "But I don't know how long your father can last."

Then Brandon strode away.

Staring at the man's back, Savanna bit her teeth, her lips were bloodless.

As a woman of both toughness and gentleness, now that she had decided not to have anything to do with Brandon. She would never go back to the Rose Villas.

Savanna knew she couldn't afford to offend him, but she didn't want to give in.

After returning to the Thompson Group, she began to call the lawyer, Elijah Wilson, again. Mr. Wilson came to her and said that he could help her with her father's case. Savanna was overjoyed and soon made an appointment with him.

After they met and talked, they quickly reached an agreement. After knowing about the case, Elijah's confidence in winning completely makes Savanna relieved.

In the court, Elijah won the first battle after a verbal battle with the prosecutor.

After the trial, she went to visit David. Savanna asked him to hold on for a few days and said she believed that she could bail him out after the next trial.

The second trial came soon.

Sitting outside the court, Savanna's waiting for Elijah to show up. Seeing that David Thompson was getting more and more flustered, she couldn't keep calm anymore and begged the judge to wait for another fifteen minutes. However, fifteen minutes later, Elijah still didn't show up.

David was taken away.

Savanna called Elijah dozens of times. When she finally got through, Elijah told her that he was in the police station. He said that he drank too much last night and someone brought him to a girl's bed. The girl accused him of rape.

She knew that what happened to Elijah was not a coincidence, but a deliberate conspiracy.

Elijah's event soon spread throughout the legal community, and it was even more difficult for Savanna to hire a lawyer to defend David. That night, David's sicker. As soon as she heard the news, she rushed to the detention center.

Elijah's event soon spread throughout the legal community, and it was even more difficult for Savanna to hire a lawyer to defend David. That night, David's sicker. As soon as she heard the news, she rushed to the detention center.

Anxious as she was, Savanna was shut out of the jail.

Standing under the eaves of the jail, she felt even colder than the snowflakes falling from the sky. Then she called Brandon, "Hello."

Late at night, the voice of Brandon was deep and hoarse.

"Brandon."

The man's name came out from her bloodless lips. Savanna stared at the snowflakes flying in the sky, floating

Brandon kept silent.

It seemed that he had been waiting for this call for a long time.

Savanna bit her lips hard, and her lips immediately turned red. Ignoring the pain in her heart, she said with difficulty, "Do you still remember that you asked me to go back to the Rose Villas? Is it still count?" "My words always count."

The man seemed to be lighting up a cigarette. His casual words made her close her eyes hard.

"Okay, I'll be right back."

"I'll ask Leo to pick you up. Where are you?" Brandon asked.

"No need, but thanks."

Savanna laughed, but her smile didn't reach her eyes. It was desolate and sad.

She wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and quickly calmed herself down. She drove back to the Rose Villas. She had lived in this villa for two years. The lights in the corridor of the villa were dim. Savanna walked on the soft carpet with heavy steps, without making any sound, which made her feel like a ghost at the moment.

Savanna was about to go upstairs, but she changed her mind when she saw Leo at the door of the study

Usually, where there was Leo, then Brandon would definitely in nearby.

Then Savanna walked towards Leo. When he raised his head and saw her, he was not surprised at

áll. But the muscle on his face seemed to have softened. He shouted in a low voice, "Mrs. Cassel."

Savanna nodded, and passed by his body, she knocked on the door.

She knocked on the door for a long time, but there was no response from the inside.

Leo looked at her with a complicated expression in his eyes, "Mr. Cassel is checking on the emails."

Without answering, she stood at the door for a long time in the same position.

Finally, a voice came from inside, "come in."

Glancing at the overjoyed expression on Leo's face, she pushed the door open and walked in.

The room was dim, Brandon sat in the chair in front of the computer, lowering his eyebrows and tapping on the keyboard with his slender fingers. It was not until he finished dealing with all the documents in the mailbox that he slowly looked up and looked at the quiet woman at the door.

"Come here."

He asked Savanna to come over.

In the light, Savanna's face was dull, like a marionette.

Looking at her, the scene that the elder Mr. Cassel's birthday party was held last time came to his mind. At that time, the smile on her face was bright and beautiful. Since he said he wanted to divorce her, it seemed that she had never smiled at him again.

During the two years of marriage, she's always responsible and sometimes fawned on him, but he thought that was the disguise as she wanted to cling to the Cassel at that time.

Brandon didn't know that he was eager to see his wife smile at him as she did to Cain. Her smile was heartless and brilliant as if the world had lost its color. Suddenly, Brandon's upset.

He hooked her chin and raised her face slightly. The two of them were forced to look at each other.

Savanna's eyes couldn't bear the strong light, and her pupils shrank suddenly.

However, in Brandon's eyes, it was because she didn't want to see him. All of a sudden, he got angry. With a sneer coming out of his throat, he lifted his thin lips and said, "If you don't want to come back, then don't come back."

"No, I didn't."

Savanna grabbed his hand tightly as if she had grasped the last straw to save her life.

Her slightly hoarse voice seemed to have been ground by sand, and her voice was faintly sobbing, "Brandon, my father couldn't hold it in a few days. Could you... Could you please spare him?" These days, Brandon had been waiting for her to come and beg him.

When she was back, she bowed her head as he wished, but he didn't feel happy. Instead, his heart

was heavier than before.

"Do you think I made your father come to this?" He asked.

Taking a deep breath, Savanna looked at him calmly and gently, with a mocking smile on her lips: "Whether it is me or my father, we are kind to others and have never offended anyone."

What she means is that I have disobeyed you. Except for offending you, no one else wants to harm us.

Brandon pulled his hand out of her hand. He slowly clenched his fingers into a fist.

His knuckles were as pale as snow.

"You once said," she added, "You will take it back from me on behalf of Winnie. Brandon, I have nothing left, except my father."

For the first time, her voice was filled with sadness.

Savanna thought that Brandon was to blame for the Thompson Group's predicament, but he did nothing except maintain a wait-and-see attitude. Even if he sent her back to the Thompson Group that day and asked her to go back to the Rose Villas, she was unwilling to do that. Brandon had made up his mind to force her back. In the past two days, although he had also wanted to use the Thompson Group to force her to give in, he did not take action.

Now, he wanted to tell her that everything had nothing to do with him, but would she believe him?

After all, he indeed said, "I'll get it back on behalf of Winnie."

She took the blame for no reason.

Even if she didn't believe him, he didn't want to explain.

He said word by word coldly:"If you want to save her, show your sincerity."
