Chapter 345 His Rival in Love

“Knock, knock, knock.”

Owen stood at the door of Room 88 for a long time before he raised his hand slowly and knocked onthe door.

The door was opened from the inside. When Saul saw Owen standing at the door, he raised hiseyebrows slightly and called out his name slowly, “Mr. Moore.”

He didn’t ask Owen what he wanted to do but stepped aside and extended his hand. “Come in,please.”

Owen gave a slight nod and walked in.

The suite was prepared for Brook, Hailey, and their other siblings. Brook and Hailey lived here mostoften. When her other brothers came to Poya, they sometimes lived in the Garden of Rose andsometimes in The Nomad.

The big suite had three bedrooms and one living room. The master bedroom was occupied by Hailey,and it was full of her things. The two bedrooms were clean and tidy, and Saul was sleeping in abedroom near the balcony.

After inviting Owen in, Saul asked casually. “What would you like to drink?”

“Whatever.”

“Beer?”

“Okay.”

After two bottles of beer were opened, the two men simultaneously wiped the bottles with tissue.

Saul glanced at Owen and asked, “Are you a neat freak, Mr. Moore?”

Owen responded, “No. OCD.”

Saul smiled. “Me too.”

The two raised their beer cans at the same time and drank silently.

Both of them were less talkative. They didn’t say anything even after half a can of beer was finished,but they didn’t feel embarrassed and just sat quietly, lost in thought.

After a long while, Owen asked, ‘Mr. Yerkes, are you here in Congland for Roger’s case?”

Saul looked up at Owen.

He didn’t blame Owen for asking this straightforward question so abruptly, nor was he surprised atOwen’s purpose. On the contrary, he appreciated Owen’s straightforwardness because it would savetime and no more talking.

‘I came back to Congland to worship our ancestors, and I came to Poya because someone asked mefor a favor,” Saul responded.

Owen’s dark eyes narrowed slightly. “Is that person Hailey?”

Saul nodded. “You can think so.”

After all, Karl was Hailey’s brother, and what he wanted to know was also what Hailey wanted to replaceout.

Owen was taken aback. “All right.”

He raised his head and drank another 1/4 of the beer. Then he pinched the can with his slender fingers,which made a sound.

Saul suddenly frowned as he noticed Owen’s irritation.

“You still care about her,” Saul remarked.

Owen suddenly stared his deep and bright eyes at him. There was not any irony or ridicule in them, butsomehow, they helped him exude an aura.

Owen admitted frankly, “Yes, I care about her very much.”

“Since you care about her, why didn’t you cherish her?” Saul asked. “As far as I know, you havedivorced.”

Owen was stung. He had thought he was numb, but he still felt heartbroken.

“Yes.” Owen choked. “Because of my wrong decision, I hurt her and pushed her away from my worldwith my own hands.”

Except for those who were close to him and knew what had happened between him and Hailey, Owenhad never taken the initiative to mention it to anyone else. In the past, he thought it was unnecessary,but later… Every time he mentioned it, he felt his heart crack into pieces.

Owen had always been a person who didn’t like to recall the past, and he never missed the past. Butnow, he wished he could be reborn and go back to the past to start over with Hailey.

Owen stood up abruptly. “You…” He held the beer can tightly and crunched it. “You just met a fewtimes. Don’t you think it’s too hasty?”

The bottle in Owen’s hand was completely deformed. The beer sprayed out and splashed on his hand.A surge of anger bolted through his veins.

Saul said calmly, “How can I know if I don’t give it a try? I don’t need her to love me the most. I justhope that if we are together in the future, we will be the light of each other’s life. This is the meaning ofa couple, isn’t it?”

“Dream on!” Owen yelled at the top of his lungs. He threw the beer can into the trash can and left.

Saul’s eyes flickered. He raised his head and drank the rest of the beer in the can.
