Love that heals -
Chapter 31 Ashu fumes at ????
Rudrani:
I stood in front of him with tears, but this time I decided whatever he says I shouldn't take to heart and will slowly convince him. I didn't want to break this bonding.
"A.. S. H.. U," I said in a very low voice stammering and remembered my dad who used to scold me for everything though I never do anything wrong. Am I going to face same fate with my Ashu too? "What did you say to her?" Ashu asked seriously making me step back.
Ashu, don't you trust me? Why will I say something to her if she didn't say anything to me? How can you trust her than your wife?
"Answer me," he shouted again.
"I didn't..... " I tried to explain Ashu.
"I didn't ask you, Rudrani. I am asking Artika. You no need to explain me when I know what you are already," Ashu said.
For a minute, I was amazed at his reply. Thank God, my Ashu trusts me and not angry with me.
"Answer me Artika, what did you say to my wife? How dare you to insult my wife? I know about my wife well. Rudrani never slips her tongue unless someone tries to insult her. I am proud of her as my wife always stands for herself without depending on someone else for support or being naive. I can easily guess that it's you who might have insulted her character first and maybe Rudrani replied you rudely after listening to your accusations," Ashu said.
My eyes went wide as saucepans. I did not understand anything. Ashu was scolding Artika. Her smile faded and was replaced with a fearful frown.
"I know very well about my wife, Artika. You no need to come in between us. If I have a problem with her, we will sort it out. I know about her friend. He is a good person who has helped her many times. Please don't plant such false ideas in my mind and make my wife bad in my eyes. My heart tells I may go wrong, but Rudrani can never do anything wrong. Whatever she does have some reason or the other."
"No Ashu, you are getting it wrong. She said she loves that friend of hers and she said it doesn't mean anything to her even if you die!! " Artika lied trying to maintain her composure.
"What rubbish are you talking Artika? I have never spoken that way. I can lay my life at Ashutosh's feet but never can I ever think of harming him. I live because he is with me. And that friend..."
"Stop it Rudrani, no need to explain anything. Our bond is not that fragile which demands an explanation for everything. Artika I know we are best friends, and I love you the way a friend does. Please don't come in between me and the love of my life. Never disrespect her because Ashutosh and Rudrani are one. What will you speak of her applies to me also. Don't ever try to implant the seeds of doubt in me and pollute my mind with your unnecessary words."
Artika stamped her foot and just left the room. I didn't know what to do. I just kept calm and looked down. Ashu came and lifted my chin, wiped my tears and asked. "What is this sweetheart, don't cry early in the morning. I love to see your smile, not your tears. Your smile brightens up my day, and your tears make my day gloomy. Do you want to brighten up my day or to make it gloomy?" Ashu asked smiling.
Ashutosh:
"I thought you would scold me" I heard her mumbling.
"Why would I? I know you didn't do anything wrong. In fact, I can easily assume that she might have hurt you with her words. Please forgive me."
"Ashu, why are you asking forgiveness? It's Okay. Even she had a point. I unknowingly hurt you with my rapid fire. I am sorry. I don't deserve your love too. That pen friend is just the one who inspired me. I don't even know him at all. Ashu, inspiration is different from love. I never loved anyone till now. It's just that I really fell in love with his words, but not with him. Whenever I would feel upset, I would just read his letters, and his words really have that magic to bring out my inner potential."
They were my words only Rudrani. If only you are motivated with my words directly from my mouth and not just my letters, I have so much to tell you.
"I understand love, I know you. Don't worry. Who said you don't deserve my love? In fact falling in love with you was the best feeling. I can never love anyone that way I love you. If not you then who else?" I said kissing her. Rudrani smiled. I thought to tease her.
"Moreover my love, I have no patience or energy to fight or convince you again. I still remember the treatment you gave to me last time when I was rude to you. I have no guts to put myself in problem again by scolding you. I can't become a prey to this tigress's wrath," I said to lighten up her mood.
Rudrani glared at me, and I laughed. Rudrani laughed along with me.
"I always want to brighten up your day with my smile," Rudrani replied.
"Ashu, today I will be late to home. I will be in touch with you till I reach home," Rudrani said.
Rudrani never informed me anytime till now though she was late to home.
"I don't think you have a habit of informing me about returning home. Don't change, sweetheart. Be as you are. It's fine until you are safe," I said. I really don't want her to change anything in her for me. I love her as she is and yes, I will love her as she is forever. Keeping conditions and asking her to change for me is not true love.
"Ashu, at that time I thought no one worries about me if I return home late. Now I realized that you would worry about me if I didn't come home on time and will search the whole city for me. I don't have any problem to inform you whenever I will be late to home and I know it's my responsibility too," Rudrani said.
Yes, sweetheart, I will be worried if you didn't reach home as per your timings. I will lose my coolness and courage until I replace you and I feel as if my world was shaken whenever I am unable to see you.
"Okay but is anything wrong? If there is any problem, please tell me," I asked her.
"No Ashu, I am going to meet the doctor who treats me. Today I have another counseling session," Rudrani said.
"Fine, do you want me to be with you while your session goes on?"
"No, I can't be comfortable if you are there during the counseling session," Rudrani said.
"Are you worried, my love?" I asked pulling her into a side hug.
I noticed few teardrops from her eyes.

"What happened, dear? Look at me and tell me why are these tears coming from your beautiful eyes?" I asked kissing her.
"I don't know what doctor will say."
"I didn't get you, baby."
"What if the doctor says I can never change and be a good wife to you," Rudrani asked me crying.
"My love, you are already the best wife to me. Whatever doctor says it won't bring any change in our lives or love. We will be together forever. Don't worry too much," I tried to convince her. "I hope I will recover soon," She said pouting.
"You are not a patient to recover, baby. Look, we are doctors. Don't you know many girls will have some sort of fear and hesitation to give themselves to their husbands on the first night? It's a natural fear, but the saddest thing is very few husband understand their wives and give them time to adjust. For some, it takes few weeks to months, for some it may take years. You have that fear a bit more but no need to worry because your husband has enough patience and love to wait till you adjust completely in this relationship. First, let's start being comfortable with each other to share feelings, fears, and opinions. Slowly we can go further. However, I already decided not to take any step towards that until you complete your studies. Till then we will be just good friends," I said softly to make her understand that her fear is a natural thing and not a disease.
Rudrani stayed calm without replying.
"Look, whatever the doctor says, you are going to share it with me frankly without hiding or going away from me, understand?" I said with a bit of commanding and seriousness in my voice, and she gave a disturbed look to me. "Okay, I am sorry. What I mean to say is please don't go away from me and tell me whatever it is," I said changing my voice to a normal one. Rudrani smiled and nodded.
"We can sort out any problem when we are together," I said assuring her that I am never going to leave her when she needs me the most. "May I know the doctor who is treating you?"
"No," she said.
"Why dear? Do you think it's not necessary for your husband to know who treats you and how is the treatment going on?"
"Please Ashu, I didn't want to reveal anything," Rudrani said.
"It's okay, take your time to trust me," I said.
I dropped her at our hospital as she has some work. In the evening, Rudrani messaged me that she is in the clinic of that doctor and was nervous. I convinced her to take it easy and not to worry much. From last two hours, her mobile was switched off, and I called her many times. I waited for her until 10 pm and my worry increased.

What did that doctor say? Is my love upset? I hope she won't go away from me. Ahmed and I went to search her, but we didn't replace her. We returned home by 12 am, but still, she didn't return home. I was panicked and didn't understand what to do. My friends and I gathered in the living room waiting for Rudrani. I called my uncle who is working as SP, and he said he would order the cops to search for her.
In the morning, at 5 am I woke up hearing the bell sound. I don't know when did I sleep as I was awake until 3 am. I opened the door, and Rudrani came with Sanjay. I hugged her immediately.
"Where did you go, baby? Are you alright? Why did you switch off your mobile?" I said.
Rudrani got out of my hug. I saw police officers beside Rudrani and Sanjay.
"Mr. Ashutosh, SP sir ordered to search your wife, Mrs. Rudrani. We found them in a hotel raid. We arrested them but didn't file any case. As SP sir ordered us, we are handing over your wife to you without booking any case on them," the policeman said and left the place.
I clenched my fist to control myself. I didn't know what made her go to a hotel. Is this Sanjay a good or bad person? Is he troubling her? Maybe Rudrani was unable to share it with me.
"Why do you call the police? Why do you overreact all the time, Ashutosh? I am not a kid, and I know to take care of myself. I don't understand why do you do such things," Rudrani said. "Sanjay, I think you can leave," I said to him and held her hand taking her inside the house. I closed the door.
"Ashu, what is this. Leave my hand. You are insulting Sanjay by closing the door on his face," Rudrani yelled at me.
"Rudrani, let's go to our room first. We can talk everything there," I said as I didn't want to create a scene before my friends.
"No, what is there to discuss? Ask me whatever you want here itself," Rudrani said stubbornly.
"What happened Rudrani? Why did you get arrested? Why didn't you call me when you are in trouble? Why were you in a hotel room?" I asked casually.
"Who are you to ask me all these things? Why should I call you? You are insulting me before your friends," Rudrani said.
What did I say that insults her? I just asked how does that incident take place. What made her ask who am I again? Does my girl have a short-term memory to forget who am I all the time? "Oh, great! Your wife has lots of respect for you," Artika said sarcastically.
Rudrani slapped Artika making everyone shocked.
"You are just looking at your friend while she is insulting me. How can you be like this Ashu if you really love me?" Rudrani asked as if she gave time for me to react.
What happened to Rudrani? Why is she behaving like this?
"Rudrani, enough. Now go to our room immediately before I lose my patience. We will talk there, "I said and took her to our room. I locked the door and looked at her who was looking somewhere else but not me.
