Chapter 102

Noting Andrew's somber expression, Madelyn instantly dropped her nonchalance. She knew he wasn't easy to fool.

He hadn't asked her because of her injuries before, but what else.could she do apart from fooling him?

She lowered her head. "I really did miss you."

"It seems like you don't plan on telling the truth, huh?"

Madelyn fell silent. Her heart pounded, and diffidence surged within her. She knew Rowan must've told Andrew what

happened. That loose-lipped guy! She clearly told him not to

tell Andrew.

But, given Rowan's loyalty to Andrew, it made sense. Rowan had always despised her all these years, so naturally, he sided with Andrew. Yet, she had no choice due to the circumstances

back then.

"Who told you I was there?" Andrew asked bluntly.

Madelyn wanted to say it was the company secretary, but such a lie definitely wouldn't work on Andrew. He was always so astute, after all.

Not knowing how to respond, she stared at Andrew with her big, doe eyes instead. Her innocent yet pitiful appearance did nothing to faze him this time.

"Jason was tracking your phone when you came to Lovitale that night."

Shock flashed in Madelyn's eyes. She hadn't expected Jason. to track her phone! The innocent and pitiful look in her eyes vanished as she glowered at Andrew. "What were you up to?"

"Maddie, I need you to be absolutely safe! But you lied to me that night. Who helped you block our tracking?"

Her initial fury dissipated after hearing his concern for her safety.

Looking pitiful, Madelyn met Andrew's gaze and said, "I blocked it myself. I really just wanted to see you.

"Someone was constantly trying to track my phone on the

highway, but I didn't know who that was. So, I didn't allow the tracking."

Actually, she was aware that Elijah was also after her. He couldn't locate her, but he also knew that she wasn't with Andrew. Thus, he intended to use her to threaten Andrew. Little did he expect that she was already following Andrew.

"You did it yourself?"

"Yeah."

'Didn't you major in architecture in college? How do you know these things?" Andrew arched an eyebrow.

His gaze grew thick with suspicion. Realizing that his question. mirrored Carrie's, Madelyn was stunned.

She knew she studied architecture in college back then, but

she also had skills beyond that. As for how she knew them, she was also utterly clueless.

Looking at Andrew, she instinctively shook her head. "I don't

know."

Andrew didn't respond, and silence filled the air once again.

A wave of anxiety flooded through Madelyn. It had never dawned on her before when Carrie and Andrew asked her this question, but now it finally struck her-she might've forgotten something important. After a while, Andrew got up and carried her. "Forget it if you don't know."

Madelyn fell silent. Was he not going to ask anymore? But why did she feel even more uneasy when he refrained from asking any more questions?

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she began, "Darling, I feel like I've forgotten something important lately."

For example, why did she know these skills? Why did she fall for Easton? And how did she get injured and result in an

intracranial blood clot?
