Chapter 135
On the way back, Andrew held Madelyn's hand the entire time in the car. Although she seemed carefree with Annie at the restaurant earlier, her mind was in turmoil.
When they arrived at Serenity Villa, Madelyn immediately went to open the car door but was stopped by Andrew.
"Are you upset?"
She turned her head and met his gentle gaze, making her heart ache even more.
At that moment, Madelyn realized that even though she hadn't mentioned her hospital visit in the morning, Andrew knew everything.
Sensing her hesitation to respond, Andrew pulled her from the passenger seat and into his arms.
In the past, such a move would have made Madelyn dizzy, but she has since grown accustomed to it, and the world didn't feel like it was spinning anymore.
As their breaths mingled, she wrapped her arms around him and snuggled against his neck.
"Darling, let's..."
The word "divorce" was stuck in her throat.
She couldn't bear to divorce him!
Seeing Damian's change for Annie made her realize how important children were to a couple.
The doctor's words echoed in her mind. She couldn't imagine a future with Andrew without children.
Her throat grew painfully tight, and she couldn't utter a single word.
Noticing her unusual behavior, Andrew tightened his hold
around her waist.
"What's wrong?"
"I went for a checkup today."
"Why? Do you feel unwell?" Andrew asked despite already knowing the answer.
He already knew the reason for her check-up before he looked for her at the hospital.
After discovering that Elena had put contraceptives in their food, he understood that if Madelyn cared, she would get herself checked.
He was happy that she took the initiative to go for a
checkup. He felt it showed that she cared about their future.
Yet, seeing her so upset now made him wish she didn't care about such things."
"The doctor said it's difficult for me to get pregnant..."
Madelyn started to choke up again, the pain making her unable to continue talking.
Nestling against Andrew's neck and breathing in his refreshing scent made her feel even more miserable.
Andrew pulled her out of his embrace and cupped her cheeks with both hands. Their eyes met, and she felt drawn in unconsciously by his starry eyes. Madelyn sniffled and couldn't help but cry.
"I was such a fool to be fed contraceptives and end up with
issues!"
"Are you upset because of something like that?"
"I want to have children with you. I really want kids!"
Madelyn's tone was extremely determined, and this firmness made her heart ache even more.
Hearing her speak so resolutely about wanting their child made Andrew feel warmth in his heart.
He kissed away the tears on her cheek.
"Then we'll work on it, okay?"
"But the doctor said-
"What doctor? Those who say that are just quacks who speak nonsense. Do you really believe them that easily?"
Andrew cut her off before she could finish.
"Don't worry. You will definitely get pregnant."
He then kissed her fiercely.
Madelyn was originally feeling depressed, but her pessimistic thought process was forcibly interrupted by Andrew, leaving her with no strength to continue. She couldn't remember how she got out of the car or went upstairs afterward. Her mind was in a complete daze, and she couldn't recall the following events.
The next morning, Andrew was already awake when Madelyn opened her eyes. She tried to get up, but in the end, she only managed to roll over with difficulty. At the sight of her acting like a lazy cat, Andrew leaned down and kissed her cheek.
"Not going out today, dear?"
Madelyn merely hummed in response, feeling annoyed by the disturbance. She then waved him away.
Andrew's eyes filled with even more affection as he looked at her.
He originally wanted to tell her about Derrick, but he couldn't bear to wake her up when he
