Chapter 173
Josiah listened to Andrew's cold and merciless words his face pallid with shock. He knelt on the ground and was too frightened to utter a single word.
The atmosphere in the conference room was oppressively tense.
After a while, Andrew spoke chillingly, "Leave Klago City."
Josiah nodded vigorously.

"Yes. I'll do as you say. Thank you, Mr. Miller!"
Josiah breathed a sigh of relief. He feared Andrew might change his mind, so he hastily departed.
Half an hour later, Rowan had everything arranged. When he returned, the conference room was filled with thick smoke.
The ashtray in front of Andrew brimmed with cigarette butts.
"Mr. Miller."
Rowan approached respectfully.
Andrew stubbed out the half-smoked cigarette directly into the ashtray.
"Has everything been taken care of?"
"Yes. Personnel have been dispatched to verify. All assets will be retrieved within the week."
Andrew nodded.
As he observed Andrew's deeply serious expression, Rowan knew Andrew was holding back his intense fury. He had witnessed how the Garcia family had treated Madelyn over the years. Before discovering her true identity, they had mistreated her. This could be explained by Caleb's frantic behavior after learning the truth.
The fact that Madelyn wasn't Caleb's biological daughter didn't make Andrew sad.
Rowan, who had previously harbored some resentment toward Madelyn, now felt nothing but sympathy. "Mr. Miller, should we help Mrs. Miller investigate? Rowan asked, referring to Madelyn's biological parents.
Since the girl found at the hospital entrance years ago wasn't from the Garcia family, Madelyn's biological parents must be elsewhere.
Andrew's expression turned icy.
"What is there to investigate? She's my family, and the Miller family is hers."
Andrew couldn't help but think, "What good could come from parents who abandoned their daughter at a hospital? And what if we do replace them, only to discover that they're even worse than the Garcia family?" Rowan nodded.
"Yes. There's no need to investigate."
Regardless of the outcome, Madelyn didn't need her birth family.
"What about Mrs. Miller?" Rowan asked.

"I'll inform her."
Andrew decided after a moment's thought.
He had no intention of hiding Madelyn's true identity. After all, he had witnessed her longing for Caleb and Amelia's affection and the disappointment and pain of not receiving it.
Andrew felt that news of her not being a part of the Garcia family was evidently a better result for her.
Meanwhile, Madelyn had been dreaming as she napped in the lounge. Upon waking up, she felt completely relaxed.
Andrew walked in to replace that she was on the phone with Caleb, who was insistent on meeting her.
"I have something very important to tell you, Maddie. I'm sorry for everything before. It was all my fault. 1 apologize to you," Caleb said.
Caleb's tone was affectionate over the phone as Madelyn listened in a daze. She realized Andrew was intent on reclaiming everything from the Garcia family.
Madelyn understood Caleb well. She knew that he would do anything for a glimmer of hope.
Caleb was now backed into a corner.
"Mr. Garcia, I must say, you really do know how to adapt to circumstances, Madelyn remarked.
She wasn't pleased with Caleb at all. She only felt inexplicably disgusted.
She also felt that this wasn't right, but deep down, she always had an instinct to escape them.
Caleb would have been infuriated to hear such words from her in the past, but now there wasn't even a hint of anger. He merely spoke with bitterness over the phone.
"Your mother has already discussed divorce with me. Maddie, I now have nothing."
Madelyn was stunned by his words. She couldn't believe that Amelia was divorcing him.
She found the situation truly strange. Amelia had even treated his illegitimate daughter as her own to please Caleb. Yet, she was now asking for a divorce.
But even so, Madelyn had no sympathy for Caleb's plight.
She said coldly, "Mr. Garcia, you seem to have forgotten that you already had me sign the severance letter. Our procedures here are likely complete by now. Spin to Claim Your Surprise Reward!
