Chapter 59

Madelyn and Andrew spent the entire day at the birthday celebration. All of the Millers were there. Easton noticed Madelyn but hesitated to approach her.

During the event, Andrew accompanied Madelyn in greeting the guests. It was their first public appearance together at such a large gathering since their wedding. Feeling her nerves, Andrew took her hand and Madelyn paused briefly, then realized he was concerned about her. She shook her head. "How will we explain it to Grandma if we go now?

Today was Athena's birthday celebration. With everyone back except Elijah's family, the Millers were complete. If Andrew, the current head of the household, were to leave midway, peace at the Miller residence Andrew glanced at Madelyn's high heels. She anticipated his

comment and cut in, "My feet feel fine."

"Alright, just give me a heads up if you need a break," he responded. Madelyn nodded and made a soft sound of agreement.

Elena's socialite friends were also present at the birthday celebration. They glared at Madelyn with mocking hostility. Madelyn's significant look in their direction only fueled their indignation on Elena's behalf. Harriet Underhill, Elena's closest friend, quipped sarcastically in

Madelyn's direction, "She's quite the performer, isn't she? Shame it

Nearby, Sophie Hawthorne asked, "Are they really going through with the divorce?"

"Yeah, Elena said she won't go easy on her this time!" Harriet responded.

Sophie nodded. "Elena should've done it ages ago. Madelyn hooking up with some random guy while still holding onto Mr. Andrew is just disgraceful!"

Harriet visibly reacted to the mention of "some random guy". She had secretly admired Easton for

years and never expected him to fancy. someone like Madelyn. Ignoring Sophie's comment, she muttered," Where's Elena?"

They had been searching for Elena since their arrival, but she was nowhere to be found. For the past few days, their attention had been on making a striking appearance at Athena's birthday celebration. They "She'll definitely replace a way to keep Mr. Andrew's attention on a day like this. She's bound to make a dramatic entrance," Sophie remarked.

"Why does it matter? Mr. Andrew will end up with Elena anyway. She's just waiting for their divorce!" Harriet said smugly.

Madelyn's detached attitude grated on her nerves. Madelyn wouldn't hold such a high status if she weren't married to Andrew. Harriet intended to make her dominance clear once Madelyn and Andrew parted w When Damian and Wilson arrived together, Harriet and Sophie

couldn't help but notice. Harriet paused briefly, exclaiming, "Look, Mr. Curran is back!"

Sophie followed her gaze, but her attention was caught by Wilson

standing next to Damien. Her heart skipped a beat.

whispered to Wilson, "Can you believe Madelyn and Andrew are on good terms again?"

It was almost unbelievable. Those two who always seemed to clash. were having such a good day. Wilson glanced sharply at Madelyn, saying nothing in response to Damian.

Madelyn noticed Harriet and Sophie whispering to each other. She quietly said to Andrew, "I see my friends over there. I'll be right back."

Andrew followed her gaze. A flicker of emotion crossed his face when he saw it was Harriet and Sophie.

Due to Elena's influence, Madelyn had once been part of Elena's circle, but now, Madelyn understood they were just Elena's friends all along. Harriet and Sophie spotted Madelyn approaching and flashed insincere smiles. "Hey Maddie, is Elena not here yet?"

Madelyn walked past them with a neutral expression. "Follow me."

Harriet and Sophie assumed Madelyn was taking them to see Elena and were intrigued by what surprise Elena had in store for the

evening. Instead, Madelyn led them directly to the rear entrance of the Miller residence.
