Chapter 109
Wilson had left by the time Madelyn returned to the stables. Andrew was there waiting for her
As Madelyn got out of the car, she saw Andrew sitting at a coffee table some distance away, holding a book. His noble and elegant demeanor was captivating.
Madelyn walked over and hugged his neck from behind.
Andrew responded by grabbing her snatched waist and pulling her into his arms.
“So, you do know your way home, huh?” His tone carried a doting smile. There was not a single hint of blame.
Madelyn whined, “Carrie almost beat Jackson’s mom to death. She’s now going on an emergency escape trip abroad.”
Andrew was startled by her words.
Madelyn had very few friends, with Carrie and Stella being her closest. He knew their personalities well.
Simply put, birds of a feather flocked together. Friends who stayed together had common interests and shared hatred.
It was clear that Carrie and Stella too were troublemakers
since the trio were best friends for years.
But what about Carrie’s incident?
Andrew asked, “Whose idea was it?”
He was referring to the idea of sending Carrie on an escape
trip abroad.-
Madelyn raised her head and looked into Andrew’s deep eyes. It was my idea. Is there a problem?”
Andrew felt utterly at a loss for words. Sometimes, she was brilliant, but seeing the advice she gave, he didn’t know what to
say.
“Is Carrie’s relationship with Jackson the same as with other men?”
“It isn’t!” Madelyn blurted out.
Although Carrie insisted that Jackson was just like any other man, Madelyn knew that things were different. Carrie had never gotten into a relationship, but she had basically moved in with Jackson at this point.
Madelyn instantly understood what Andrew meant. She slapped her forehead. “Oh no. What have I done?”
Carrie had almost beaten Sophia to death, and her idea was to send Carrie abroad to take refuge.
Wouldn’t Jackson despise Carrie if he learned that as the culprit, Carrie didn’t apologize and fled? But to begin with, Jackson loathed Carrie, right?
“Jackson is just too scary. His mother wouldn’t let Carrie go, either.”
Madelyn felt it was necessary to apologize. But if the cost of doing so was too high, it was better not to.
Carrie had clearly followed her advice after thinking of that.
Andrew hugged and kissed her on the lips. “Don’t come up with random ideas again, got it?”
“Got it.” Madelyn repeatedly nodded. Whatever Andrew said now was right.
The two of them returned to Serenity Villa. Along the way, Madelyn wondered if Carrie should delay her trip abroad. After all, Carrie had been pregnant with Jackson’s child in her previous life.
Just this one thing made their relationship different.
But back then, Carrie hadn’t beaten up Sophia. Did it mean that their trajectories had changed now that she had?
Regardless, Carrie’s safety was their main priority at present.
Three days elapsed.
The Garcia family showed no response, and Madelyn wouldn’t give in, either. She handed the matter over to Benson.
Elena was brought away at noon, but Benson reported bad news. “She’s now pregnant and has the right to apply for bail.”
So, after everything they had to go through, Caleb and Amelia remained unscathed, and Elena would still be free.
Madelyn sneered. “She’s not pregnant. Go check.” Her words took Benson aback.
Chapter 110
“I’ll check it out right away.” Benson nodded and promptly left.
Madelyn gently stroked the soft fur of the cat in her arms with a gloomy look in her eyes.
Elena was indeed released in the afternoon. She called Madelyn, “Madelyn, I didn’t expect you to be this ruthless! How do you think Andrew would react if he knew?”
Madelyn didn’t understand what Elena was talking about. She squinted dangerously. “Knew what? Don’t you know how he’d react?”
Elena’s face paled after she heard Madelyn’s response.
Indeed. Even after everything Madelyn had done that upset Andrew, he had never held it against her, either. Nothing would change between Andrew and Madelyn even if Elena exposed
the incident to Andrew.
Andrew must have been bewitched by Madelyn. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have forced Madelyn to marry him even when she had tried to elope with Easton.
“Hmph, go ahead and gloat about it. Don’t think you’ll ever get the Garcia family as long as I’m here. What can you do about me?”
Elena smashed the phone in a rage.
A smirk curled up at Madelyn’s lips as she listened to the dial
tone.
Andrew came home from work to see Madelyn sitting on the couch with the kitten, fast asleep. It snuggled in her arms, looking contented and relaxed.
Andrew was instantly envious of the kitten. The fact that it could lie freely in Madelyn’s arm whenever he wasn’t around sparked his jealousy.
He walked over and lifted the kitten out of her arms. The little thing jumped away with a frightened yowl and woke Madelyn.
“Why’d you do that to Bundle?”
“You’re not allowed to hold it anymore!”
Madelyn teased, “Are you jealous of a cat?”
Andrew had a dark look on his face as he picked her up and pressed her onto the couch to give her a lesson.
Madelyn was startled by his sudden anger. “Why are you mad again?”
Why had she never noticed how easy it was to set him off?
Her voice drowned in Andrew’s kisses of punishment. In the end, Madelyn had no choice but to give in. “Let’s go to the bedroom.”
She knew that Andrew had been holding himself back for some time while she had been injured. He had been eagerly eyeing her like a ravenous wolf.
Andrew nodded. He picked her up and headed upstairs. David already had all the maids avoid them, but Madelyn was too shy to do anything outside the bedroom.
As Andrew carried her, he asked, “Maddie, do you love me?”
“Of course.”
“Say you love me.”
“Mm, I love you!” Maddie croaked.
Andrew was satisfied with the answer. “I love you too, my dear.
Madelyn was drenched in sweat from exhaustion an hour later. Andrew carried her to the bath and changed her into dry. clothes before bringing her downstairs for dinner.
Madelyn had been famished, but she had lost much of her appetite after all that.
“Have some soup, and eat some pasta,” Andrew softly coaxed, but Madelyn didn’t even have the strength to hold her fork.
She pouted and whined at Andrew, “Feed me.”
Everyone present was shocked. Although they knew about Madelyn’s recent drastic changes, her coquettish demeanor caught them off guard.
The couple wouldn’t have fought so much if they had been so lovey–dovey, would they?
Andrew carried her onto his lap and spoke fondly, “You’ll have to finish two plates if I feed you.” Their height difference turned her into a child in his arms.
“Then forget it!” She had no appetite to begin with. Madelyn slipped off his lap and sat properly in her seat.
